  • This theme plays when I get all cozy in bed and then I remember I left my phone all the way down in the basement, and I have to go back down there after I've turned all the lights off...

  • This was my favorite music of all time on the game.

  • When I first heard this, I really thought there WAS something behind those blue corridor walls. Shit scared me off!! Though... what really set my heart bumping were the hunters... as soon as you exited the kitchen out to the piano corridor and you heard "thump" "thump" "thump" "gwaaaaaa", I always thought: OH SHIT, I'M DEAD...

...and I didn't even had time to say "shit"... :-S

  • Resident evil 1 was definitely the best outta the whole series, I was always found it scarier to be trapped in the mysterious old mansion rather than the streets of raccoon city

  • Everytime I hear it, I remember the second room of the basement, the one with the zombies' banquet (I played the first RE). It took me some time to get to the other side of the room before knowing what the hell was going on...too scared to go through, I guess. I'll never forget this track..it still scares me, in a good way now :)

  • then in the directors cut they replaced the music with the retarded circus is in town

  • @shadowwolf1918 That version just sounds, wrong...

  • @SyntaxMagenta

Yeah, but it is okay in its own right. And by that I mean it is fun to laugh at.

  • @shadowwolf1918 It would actually sound quite good on Dino Crisis though, since the other version sounds a little like the ground floor theme when you have to search for the source of a distress signal in the facility.

  • @SyntaxMagenta Never actually played Dino Crisis, lol.

  • @shadowwolf1918

1st dino crisis was good, 2nd one had too much action and not enough sh, 3rd one was in space.....

  • ahhh the glorious old pant-shitting tracks... :D Those were the times... This mixed with a zombies we never knew could be lurking around the corner ready to chew our Jugular off!... classic! :')

  • This track is just...horrifying. Seriously, it just gives that creeping feeling that something somewhere is going to leap out and just...just...violate you. Not necessarily in a sexual manner or anything, but it gives that sense that something is there, lurking, just waiting to do horrible, horrible things...

  • I was in this basement yesterday, when I played this game hehe... Great, but disturbing track... All those Hunters in there ahh!!

    Resident Evil FTW

  • This song is very disturbing :O

  • This music sounds weird in a really bad way. Grates on the ears too much.

  • @mopbrothers

    That's the Idea

You are suddenly put in an Unknown environment, the Developers idea was to make it as uncomfortable as possible.

  • This is probably the scariest part on the whole game. The music makes it all the more creepy

  • Wait, where was this song used in the game? I know the song, but I keep thinking of the Snake, and then Hunters, then Giant Spiders.

  • @iGeekProductions This was the mansion basement theme. Also, yes, in Director's Cut it was infested with Hunters and in the GC remake it was infested with Web Spinners. In the original non DC version, it was just normal zombies.

  • @iGeekProductions At the kitchen, where the zombie comes down the stairs haha

  • this sound like music from Metroid series

  • when you hear the themes from the games u wanna play them

  • This is the kind of music that will make you look over your shoulder.....like...right about now. *zombie moan* Holy sh...

  • @EllenaCarmen snake? snake? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEE!

  • Damn this song scared the hell out of me... it was so... cold.

Btw it will sound good as a remix XD

  • This track scared the shit out of me back in '96

  • Thumbs up for Barry and Rebecca to be in Resident Evil 6 fighting zombies in a creepy atmosphere!

  • @xFRxDrOpShOt yeah that's a good idea, I'd like that game like RE2 , you know: Barry Scenario A and Rebecca scenario B that would be so fucking amazing.

  • I hear this track every night when i go to the restroom

  • This is by far the scariest tune of the whole game....and I think the whole resident evil series, this defines resident evil for me.

  • here's a trial for any1 out ther BRAVE ENOUGH i tried this wen i was 11 and failed lol Anyway play this game at this point in the game wen u go in2 the basement at 1200pm midnight, with every light out in the house. And only u and ur controller and the tv active with the sound up full if possible. I guarantee u u will need new underwear and new bed sheets. Scariest shit ever LONG LIVE RESIDENT EVIL 1 the best childhood memory's ever will take it 2 my grave :)

  • This track did disturbed me when i first got into the basement. It was the reason i called the basement kitchen "The Mad Kitchen".

  • When Hunters are in this area it even more creepy.

  • R.E 1 WAS SCARY WASN;T IT?

    ESPECIALLY WITH THE SOUNDTRACK

  • Those sounds that play in the background...they make it more creepy.

  • Wonderful. Three masterpieces from Masami Ueda.

  • I hear something in the basement . . . . .

  • I've been looking for this. Thanks a lot!

  • This still scares me to this day, even without the game in front of me

  • This soundtrack scared the shit out of me when I was a kid! One time I got here and shut the PlayStation off because I was so scared. Definitely one of the best and scariest songs in the Resident Evil series. Too bad they don't make the Resident Evil games like this. It was scary and it kept you at the edge of your seat every second because you didn't know when a zombie would appear. The new games are great and all but they will never compare to the older games. RESIDENT EVIL FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny to think that I know a few people that call this track, the original Mansion Basement theme, the best track in the game while I personally think the Director's Cut version is the worst track in Director's Cut.

  • The first time I played resident evil, I was playing with jill. I used the 9mm throughout. The first time I heard this music however...I had to take out the shotgun!!!!

  • it freaked me out when the two zombies in this area just kind of creep toward you at a fast pace. the music puts you on the edge of your seat. those zombies were the hardest in the whole game (the two im reffering to). were they the idea of Crimson Heads?

  • Great, you get down that hole with not so many ammo and it's all underground, pretty scary stuff.

  • o so this is the theme I Hear people freaking out in the basement?

I never played RE 1 in fact never played any cause I was too afraid lol.

anyways this is really scare this song the loud spontanousy drum sound and the vocal that cut sharpy.

    EEEEEK!!

  • I still remember this as a kid. Never played the Remake, only the original. I was always too afraid to enter the next room but I think this was the scariest. Probably because it had blood in it, I don't know but I like how it switches on and off like a broken record.

  • The REmake adds more horror apparently. I have it and some areas can scare the crap out of you if you're not careful.

  • i played directors cut

    It was my first re

Biggest scare for me was those sons of bitches hunters jumping from a corner where you meet the first zombie and then one from behind to in front of me.

MOTHERFUCKER!! i i nearly had a heart attack.

  • great!!!!

  • This song creeped me out when I was 7.

  • i can only complete this game on ds not on ps1 for some reason on ps1 i cant get passed the big spider in the under ground

  • resident evil ps1 is the hardest game ever

  • great track, very disturbing

  • In my opinion best track in the game perfectly suits the mood and setting.

  • Yeah, definitely the most ominous song. Too bad there are only three rooms in the whole game where this plays.

  • the music is definitely perfect for the basement.but i was glad when i got out there.i had a bad feeling in those rooms.because of the music,i think :-D

  • @PeyserConley Peyser, what's the name of the track when the char is in the kitchen?
