This theme plays when I get all cozy in bed and then I remember I left my phone all the way down in the basement, and I have to go back down there after I've turned all the lights off...
When I first heard this, I really thought there WAS something behind those blue corridor walls. Shit scared me off!! Though... what really set my heart bumping were the hunters... as soon as you exited the kitchen out to the piano corridor and you heard "thump" "thump" "thump" "gwaaaaaa", I always thought: OH SHIT, I'M DEAD...
...and I didn't even had time to say "shit"... :-S
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is inspired by great games such as the Resident Evil series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
Resident evil 1 was definitely the best outta the whole series, I was always found it scarier to be trapped in the mysterious old mansion rather than the streets of raccoon city
Everytime I hear it, I remember the second room of the basement, the one with the zombies' banquet (I played the first RE). It took me some time to get to the other side of the room before knowing what the hell was going on...too scared to go through, I guess. I'll never forget this track..it still scares me, in a good way now :)
@shadowwolf1918 It would actually sound quite good on Dino Crisis though, since the other version sounds a little like the ground floor theme when you have to search for the source of a distress signal in the facility.
ahhh the glorious old pant-shitting tracks... :D Those were the times... This mixed with a zombies we never knew could be lurking around the corner ready to chew our Jugular off!... classic! :')
This track is just...horrifying. Seriously, it just gives that creeping feeling that something somewhere is going to leap out and just...just...violate you. Not necessarily in a sexual manner or anything, but it gives that sense that something is there, lurking, just waiting to do horrible, horrible things...
@iGeekProductions This was the mansion basement theme. Also, yes, in Director's Cut it was infested with Hunters and in the GC remake it was infested with Web Spinners. In the original non DC version, it was just normal zombies.
@xFRxDrOpShOt yeah that's a good idea, I'd like that game like RE2 , you know: Barry Scenario A and Rebecca scenario B that would be so fucking amazing.
here's a trial for any1 out ther BRAVE ENOUGH i tried this wen i was 11 and failed lol Anyway play this game at this point in the game wen u go in2 the basement at 1200pm midnight, with every light out in the house. And only u and ur controller and the tv active with the sound up full if possible. I guarantee u u will need new underwear and new bed sheets. Scariest shit ever LONG LIVE RESIDENT EVIL 1 the best childhood memory's ever will take it 2 my grave :)
This soundtrack scared the shit out of me when I was a kid! One time I got here and shut the PlayStation off because I was so scared. Definitely one of the best and scariest songs in the Resident Evil series. Too bad they don't make the Resident Evil games like this. It was scary and it kept you at the edge of your seat every second because you didn't know when a zombie would appear. The new games are great and all but they will never compare to the older games. RESIDENT EVIL FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
It's funny to think that I know a few people that call this track, the original Mansion Basement theme, the best track in the game while I personally think the Director's Cut version is the worst track in Director's Cut.
The first time I played resident evil, I was playing with jill. I used the 9mm throughout. The first time I heard this music however...I had to take out the shotgun!!!!
it freaked me out when the two zombies in this area just kind of creep toward you at a fast pace. the music puts you on the edge of your seat. those zombies were the hardest in the whole game (the two im reffering to). were they the idea of Crimson Heads?
I still remember this as a kid. Never played the Remake, only the original. I was always too afraid to enter the next room but I think this was the scariest. Probably because it had blood in it, I don't know but I like how it switches on and off like a broken record.
Biggest scare for me was those sons of bitches hunters jumping from a corner where you meet the first zombie and then one from behind to in front of me.
the music is definitely perfect for the basement.but i was glad when i got out there.i had a bad feeling in those rooms.because of the music,i think :-D

That's the Idea
You are suddenly put in an Unknown environment, the Developers idea was to make it as uncomfortable as possible.

This is probably the scariest part on the whole game. The music makes it all the more creepy

Wait, where was this song used in the game? I know the song, but I keep thinking of the Snake, and then Hunters, then Giant Spiders.
