Hey Drgonzo, Thanks for the Demo. Hey what's the difference between this demo and the other one with the bypass switch? is it only the true bypass? Thanks man! I like this sound. Also can you do a a demo with the stock and this mod?
@ralphe01 I don't have either pedal anymore. I made the BD2 true bypass when the flip-flop (buffered switch) died. Tonally speaking, there is no difference between stock or true-bypass.
This pedal can have a little gain or a lot of gain. If someone wants to play acdc (not even hard rock) with a bd-2, they're not an idiot. But someone saying this pedal should only be used for certain styles sure has a closed & limited mind... And idiots usually have closed & limited minds.
True! I play all kinds of music: from 'Pink Floyd' to 'Alice in Chains' to 'The Cure,' etc. & I use the 'Boss Blues Driver' (I have 2 of them - one is stock, the other is a Keeley mod) all the time!

I like that. I have the BD-2 and I have noticed with mine as well as with other demos I've seen on youtube of the Boss model as well as several 'Modded' models, that when you crank the Gain, it starts to sound more like a Fuzz pedal. Now you had the good sense to turn down the level when you cranked the Gain, and I noticed a lot of other people didn't do that. But other than the Brent Mason Mod, they all seem to have a Fuzz box problem with the Gain cranked. I will look Brent Mason up.
It's not bad. Slide for me is interesting. I like to have enough gain on tap to roll the volume on the guitar back to control some of the low frequencies. You can do that with the BD-2.
YEAH!!! Deffinotly nice blusey tones there nice job too.I mean what can I say? You try out different pedals, and sometimes u have to.Go a long way.Just to try to find the right one or right ones. Thanks for that I also agree gr8 playing, and keep up the good work!!!!!5 star all the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

The Keelys are good, but Brian has his mod down to a science. I think your right, Keely has a lot more hype and buzz going. That is one of the reasons I love youtube, a great guy like Brian can get a chance to get his products out there and get a little buzz going for himself. It is the American way. Lets see if we can drum up a littel Wampler buzz!
Yeah...it was that. I was going through my mental bag of licks to demo the pedal. It really is a great pedal for some early amp type breakup on a clean channel. Thanks for the compliments!

@ralphe01 The only difference is the bypass method.

very harsh on the high end, i don't know if it's the quality or not.

It is sort of the nature of the blues driver to have some treble bite. Using a Tele doesn't help matters much either!
drgonzoguitar 2 years ago
@BrianGuitarShred: MHP Galaxie Mod for the BD-2 fixes all of the issues that the BD-2 has.
Unlike all these other "Popular" mods.

@Detman101 Never heard of MHP Galaxie Mod. Again, the guitar is a tele. It is supposed to be bright in bridge pickup.

I'm huge BD-2 fan. I use it for most gain playing. Here's a snazzy little clip of mine.

But, I also use a Fulltone OCD at half gain and will use the BD-2 to drive the OCD even more. Together it's sweet soupy saturated bliss.
