Geisha are actually JUST entertainers- however, in old days, if a customer wanted to sleep with them, to refuse the customer was frowned upon. But in modern times, the Maiko or Geisha can refuse or accept as they please.

That being said, actually a pretty nice tutorial for Geisha hair- you should try to use wax, or something, to make it look more put together instead of messy :3

Geishas aren't prostitutes. They just entertain men at tea parties. They misconception came from the 1940's when the Geisha died out and prositutes known as Oiran (who were before the Geisha), came back and dressed as Geisha to entertain the American soldiers who came to Japan and went back, describing them as prostitutes.

In Japanese, Geisha means artist While there are in fact misconceptions, it is common & encouraged for Geisha to have a client called a danna in which Geishas are more personally engaged with sexually. Saburuko (early geisha's) were the result of an increasing social displacement towards the end of the 7th century.
