  • I was at this concert, the crowd couldn't respond, it was too musical, they were mesmerized and stunned, it had been billed as something like 'the future of rock'n roll' . People weren't quite expecting 'rock' musicians to actually work for two hours plus. Watching this i remember being speechless but not excited, odd experience, too good much much too good, punk came next something people could feel easier with.

  • @JohnAndrewHall1

There was a lot of music press cynicism at the time because of the 'future of rock and roll' hype. Bruce messed a nail up tearing posters down in Hammersmith because of that tagline. I suspect a lot of the crowd weren't fans and were just ligging journos ready to rip it apart. Bruce probably had very few fans in the UK at the time. I remember having to buy his albums on import back then.

  • wow....so very good....even better than justin bieber and miley cyrus...

  • @skontch1 yeah, just slightly better....

  • Greatest of all time. That howl at 5:06 gives me chills.

  • I love the huge, "STEINWAY" plastered onto the piano, so gritty and badass.

  • Max is a fucking beast on this track... just look at that manly beard he's rocking!

Gotta love CC's backing vocals on this track at 6:20 ... amazing song, amazing band.

  • @JPizzle1122

    you rock man!

  • God I have so many friends who love bands like the allman brothers, the dead, phish etc. Whenever I bring up Bruce they only think of "Born In The USA", "Dancin' In The Dark", and songs like that. So many people don't understand that Bruce and The E Street Band had/have so many incredible jams... I would definitely put this in the same league as any so called "jam" band. This performance is flawless they are such a smoking hot band!

  • I am in wholehearted agreement with you. This is his best concert ever. I have listened to these guys since I was 5 but am only 21 and first saw this concert on a PBS special and now own dvd. I would take these guys over any of those other bands you mentioned.

  • HOLY FUCK.

That's fucking amazing. I want to be Bruce Springsteen from this show.

  • Watchin' this in the car will getcha a speedin' ticket

  • @vanparty

Has happened to me before. No lie

  • Man, wouldn't it be cool if they played entire shows of this shit? They could bill it the "No Hits, Just Jams" tour. They'd have to play smaller venues because attendance wouldn't be poor, making it all that much better!

  • excellent jam.

  • ahh. 5:08 the climax

  • why'd they break this up?

  • this is a great performance but i feel the one from passaic NJ 9-19-1978 was even better

  • one of the best live performances of all time. unless you're an idiot of course.

  • i second that emotion!

    Breathtaking!

    Bruce is the man!

  • The best performance ever!!!!!!

  • Most of The boss's detractors and casual fans probably associate him with down-home, blue collar, worthy ballads, anthems and grooves. If only everyone could get to see this side of their work,

  • EVERY concert is like this, even though he is more than 50 years old

  • He is definitely NOT high. Anyone who's ever played in a band would know.

Performer's high when you're really jamming and in the zone looks about the same.

  • Just an amazing live performance. You can imagine the band playing this way in an empty room, just for sheer joy of playing and connecting this way. This is what it's all about.

  • only 4,900 views?! Should be 4 million!

Great stuff.. I've had the album for years, but never really seen it recorded so thanks glammer!

  • This can go on, and on, and on, for hours, and hours and hours! Just love it!

  • My fav in his prime ..... can you say ROCCCCKKKKKKK AND RROOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL

  • i just came all over the place!!! that was truly orgasmic!!!!

there is no greater songwriter and performer ever to live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that, my friends is REAL rock and roll!! long live the boss and the ESB

  • better?

    imposible.

  • Bruce can do anything he wants...it'll always be good...but that's relly great...respect

  • Sure he's high. Hell, they're all high. It's the natural high that only someone who has ever played in a band will understand. There's nothing like it.

  • No way. He's not high

  • He ain't high

  • He's not. But maybe danny. Bruce told some stories about danny having marijuana in his car.

  • nah he's not *refer to idoru44's comment

  • JJSHIZZ: You misunderstand my comment. They're high on the music, not on the drugs. If you've played an instrument for any extended period of time, then you'll understand what I'm saying.

  • Ohh.. haha.. yeah I understand. I've had a lot of experience on the guitar.

  • i agree, and nice name

  • I think, I dunno for sure, but I think that no one hits the high notes, plays a long guitar solo, and leads a band through something like this, and the rest of the London concert, while they are high as a kite. Maybe I'm wrong. This bandleader is high, for sure, but I don't think it's drugs or alcohol.

  • Great!!!!

  • intense. he's high as a kite, too...

  • No way.

  • amazing

  • Max Weinberg is incredible

  • So incredible.
