  • this band was so good. i think they brokeup is it true?

  • Doves are it.

  • i'm embarrased....i caught them for the first time in japan (they played five songs on t.v.there........this one of the songs along with black and white town......

  • What really amazes me is that their album called The Last Broadcast is among the 1001 albums you must hear before you die. I had not even heard about Doves or any of their songs until I read this. But the band just proves why they are mentioned in that book! That album rocks!

  • oh i would definately do him :D

  • the last broadcast (album) = great stuff

  • God, I can't wait to see them Saturday!!!

  • Highly underrated band

  • @9876tjtj I wouldn't say underrated .. they have quite a large fanbase and their albums have always been well-received by critics .. but I see your point .. they deserve to be as big as any other brilliant band such as Coldplay or U2 ..

  • @Snyltetast I'm glad they're not as big as coldplay or U2. Sometimes when bands become too popular, they start to commercialize their sound, to pander to the new audience, who doesn't really understand the music. It happened with phonics and gorrilaz (first albums for both bands were best). I'm a big doves fan, but have lost them a bit with the last album. Again, I consider their first album to be their best (second was brilliant aswell). Becoming too popular could kill the inspiration.

  • @kingsamoflange I catch your drift but respectfully disagree :) Coldplay being one of my favourite bands as well stand out to me as a band attempting new things succesfully .. I have to agree about phonics and Gorillaz though as I was a huge fan of Gorillaz after their first album but never really dug their later albums .. Doves however are a band for me that just keep getting better and better .. some cities and kingdom of rust are my favourite albums .. lost souls is however brilliant as well

  • @kingsamoflange ..Dude. Wrong. Bono and U2 are philanthropists. and Chris Martin and Coldplay are geniuses. And if you really believe these 2 bands have gone commercial.. well, they are in the lucrative music business, and they want to make money, no? But they have not surrendered to commercializm. They continue to put out music that sounds amazing.

    Peace.

  • @TheBornAnnoyed What I said isn't 'wrong', it's my opinion. I haven't yet given my opinion on coldplay or U2. All I said is that I hope doves don't become as big as them. Coincidentally I liked U2's earlier music, but think that they've been churning out crap since the mid-ninties, either to make money, or because they feel that they have to be producing something. I also think that coldplay became a bit too self indulgent after the second album.

  • @kingsamoflange Coldplay became self indulgent? Shit....wouldn't you if you sky~rocketing to FAME after only 1 or 2 albums? They are human afterall. And if they really have become self indulgent, they will most likely crash and burn...No? All artists need to humble themselves from time to time. I only wish Madonna would. and poor stupid little Miley Cypruss' days are numbered. Please.........don't get me started.

  • @kingsamoflange ..One more thang. Are you a misogynist? or a Scientologist?

    Please say it isn't so.

  • @TheBornAnnoyed I'm a carrot eating scientologist from misogyville!

  • @TheBornAnnoyed I understand that bands need to make money from their music. The point I was making about commercialism is that when the main inspiration for making music is money, the music lacks true inspiration and becomes lifeless. In my opinion, it's not REAL music. But that's just my opinion.

  • @kingsamoflange ..But what makes you say that making $ is U2's, or whoevers, main inspiration? And thank you for humbling yourself with this last statement..."But that's just my opinion". I could probably learn from you. I am extremely self ~ indulgent.....and arrogant. Sorry. I was Born Annoyed that way.

    Peace.

  • what a good band live ..........
