  • Vikings didnt had horns in their helmets...

  • atleast they got the scandinavian names right.

  • where is asterix when you need him?

  • my cuz was miss Swedish north dakota

  • 0:12 that guy looks badasss.

Hes is also the Germanic chief gladiator Hagen from the movie Gladiator.

  • Typical mainstream crap movie, makes out the Amerinds to be noble while the Vikings are depicted as thugs.

  • @Exterminance thats right! this movie makes us look bad! people should RESPECT THE NORTHMEN!

  • @Exterminance True, I thought they had good relations?

  • @dalejrfan800 They had the nine noble virtues. My point is that in general Amerinds were more wantonly savage and brutal than the Vikings. This movie tries to whitewash the Amerinds while painting the Vikings utterly black.

  • @Exterminance Very true.

  • @Exterminance

And previous films on Natives painted whites as angelic saviors and Natives savage. Vikings pillaged, plundered and took what wasn't theirs instead of asking for trade. Typical white custom.

  • @NopeJPeg

And the Mongols were Saints? And the Japanese? Don't play the race card, the Native Tribes warred amongst themselves for centuries - scalping and pillaging are not inherent to any single race.

And I think everyone here is missing the point... it's a bloody movie. The Vikings in it are heavily stylized so they look scary: that should be immediately obvious. This is a dark, gritty, violent action movie - not a history channel special on North America. Don't look for realism in it.

  • @Darthzair

Seems like plenty of white folks play the race card when stereotypes about non-whites that don't favor their perceptions are knocked over. Apparently you missed the point I tried to make as Exterminance gets away from your accusation scot-free. Lame.

  • @Darthzair

Even The History Channel is full of biased documentaries, specially concerning the Cold War!

  • Metal!

  • Only thing real about this movie is the fact the Vikings did discover the "new world" long before Columbus.

  • only some karate tricks are missing

  • hahahahha "brink hans hed"

  • This is a good movie, but a bad lection of history. The vikings are clearly taken from warhammer fantasty battle chaos marauders. Vikings don't resembel those allmost at all.

  • @gobliini it's fiction based off fiction (a graphic novel)......they outright say that this movie isn't supposed to be a real reflection of historic events......

  • its fictional, based on comics.

  • @gobliini Yeah but that kinda seems like a bonus.

  • @gobliini

Are you so sure about it? Did you know all the vikings from the Middle Ages?

  • @gobliini the director openly stated that he had no intention of being historically accurate. Just wanted to make a movie where vikings looked like badasses.

  • What movie is this i want to watch it please reply back asap!

  • @xX6Eternity9Xx The movie is Pathfinder

  • pathfinder

  • Funny that icelandic almost sounds like english "bring his head" if didnt had subtitiles I would still get it.

  • @ImperialGuard9001 they spoke horrible icelandic, barely called icelandic. this was a comedy for me and my friend XD

  • I loved the dialogue in this movie

"take it away before he hurts himself"

    and the action was brutal

  • For me, this was pretty bad norwegian. Btw, i like the guy who talks realy norwegian in The Thing.

  • Its not Norwegian they are talking, Its Icelandic. but Gunnar speaks somekind of Weird Swedish in this movie.

  • I am Swedish and i could understand many parts of it.

  • @Ludlusch As do I, and I am Norwegian :)

  • @Ludlusch icelandic

  • In the movie, Ghost (Karl Urban) actually says "Vägen ni tar är farlig", wich means "The path you're taking is dangerous", or something like that in English.

    Great movie!

  • agree the action is hardcore and it's visually stunning but i's cheesy as well...=/

  • remind me of marauders from warhammer online

  • when did this movie come out?

and are these supposed to be native north americans?

  • the vikings are speaking icelantic which is considerd to be the ancient toung of the viking

  • The Icelandic langauge are considerd to be the ancient toung of the Western Norse, The Swedes and Danes spoke East Norse.

  • Its not called "icelantic" its called norønsk but iceland is the only coutry still using it

  • Norönsk? what is that?

  • Its a langauge that the vikings used!

  • that aint norwegian, its swedish or danish

  • since this movie i feel like learning Norsk O.o lol xD

  • hahahahaha fan vad roligt med fornordiska

  • norway? norway is a very new country.. if its somthing its sweden since thats what you "broke free" from :)

  • we have all seen this movie

  • in hindsight, throwing him the fucking sword was probably a bad idea

  • ^Norway and Iceland ;) The strogers vikings :D

  • Vikings are Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Danes. They leaved around 700-1000.

  • It would be great that you use a song from Amon amarth to one of the fight scenes of the movie

  • the vikings arent only norsemen! their icelanders too

  • I love the rest of this epic battle. It's so much better than those lame CG'd battle movies with hundreds of thousands of fake soldiers.

  • I am really dissappointed with the vikings language in this movie.. It doesn't sound anything like the old

    norse language..

  • It's actually, what I can hear, a mixture of Icelandic and Norwegian :/ I can hear some speak in Icelandic, some I think in Norwegian. So since Icelandic is essentially Old Norse, it's no wonder they used it.

  • yeah i thought most vikings spoke scandinavian or something related. i can speak german and some scandinavian, but i dont understand them at all. A different dialect maybe?

  • Because they are speaking Norse, the earlier language to Noweigen and Swedish lanuage.

  • Honestly i think it just sounds like gibberish. But then again, i don't speak whatever it was they spoke here at ca 800. hahha

  • the name of this film is the pathfinder

  • Pathfinder, battle between american Indians and Vikings, 600 years before Columbos

  • Yeah, there's a lot of heterodyne images in there, like a $6 clock radio picking up an AM and Shortwave station at the same time...

  • What the name of this film

  • The stylization and the filters were used well.
