This isn't that funny because these "brokeback" trailers are supposed to create that homo-romantic tension between two characters who everyone KNOWS do not really have it. But Michael already acts this way toward Ryan in the real show, so it's not "creating something that isn't really there" (which is what makes a brokeback trailer funny). A better choice would have been Michael and Toby, Dwight and Andy, etc.
