2 problems with this:

1) you dont do a backhand slash with those things... sure it will hurt on impact, but not in the way it's meant to hurt

2) You try hitting something solid (or someone blocking your strike with a cane or something). I can assure you your wrists and elbows will hurt like hell, not to mention there's a chance the claws will backlash severely injuring your fists.

All in all these claws are of very poor design.
