The US hit its peak in oil production in the 1950's which lead to companies finding new ways to offset the prices of rising oil. Which led to sending jobs overseas where the labor is cheaper. North America can compete very well. We have intellectual content built with our trade partners. We seem to be waiting for emerging economies to catch up. You're welcome. A cost of living index must be attached to the income in order to stay competitive. Food prices, real estate and many other costs change from time to time this change can be offset by increasing wages according to the increase in the cost of living. Advanced economies do a lot of thinking and we do not do all of it for free.Your home is not free.

I'm not denying the fact that Chinese workers work for basically no pay and that in the end, Big Companies just have to make the choice which is the smartest economic choice, even if it means outsourcing jobs overseas. I just think that it is worth it (in the perspective of an American) to pay the extra 11 dollars to an American worker rather than ship the job overseas. But in the end, I recognize that companies have to save money.

The US hit its peak in oil production in the 1950's which lead to companies finding new ways to offset the prices of rising oil. Which led to sending jobs overseas where the labor is cheaper. Being a Capitalist nation companies do not have loyalty to the US but only to their shareholders. and for the most part shareholders might be foreigners too .

They have done it before and not so long ago. many goverments have done this in the past.
My advice invest in guns and ammunition. cache them buy burring them where you can in water tight containers. pvc pipe works well for this. You may need them as this is getting to be a scary reality also. try and come for those aholes.
at very least i will be able to feed myself even if it is dog or cat and thats not a far off reallity either.

By the time i make ten bucks an hour and pay tax daycare and travel expense i would be lucky to make 80 -100 bucks a week takehome. fk that and no i dont get unemployment or welfare so piss on anyone thats gona say i do. I support myself by my own means. mine my own.

I also look for jobs as I do not have one also. am a mechanic and am amazed at the ads i see for mechanics wanted. they want master certified with all the tools for 8-10 bucks an hour. are they fking serious. my dad was paying truck drivers 10 bucks an hour in 87. damn near 25 years ago truck drivers were making what todays mechanics are being offered today. to that i say fk off i will set on my ass before i work that cheap.

Man im with ya all the way. these dumb FK politicians cant seem to understand the reason we cannot compete in the world market is cause of all the overbearing goverment regulation. industry is being crushed here by regulation and our industry is going to third word countries that dont have this crushing regulation if they have any at all. They polute ten times worse as they have no enviromental law. my dad always said we are going to starve in the dark breathing clean air.

North America can compete very well. We have intellectual content built with our trade partners. We seem to be waiting for emerging economies to catch up. You're welcome. It has been very expensive in terms of productivity. I think we should end this help and unleash our economy. The world may end up being a much better place with more choices.

One can only sell real estate to people that can afford the prices. If there is less or no income the real estate market is only open to those with offshore income. Do we need to build innovative solution on shore so people can compete? Currently many unwillingly sit idle while emerging economies catch up? Who's idea was that?

@iooo007 we need the revenue in North America to fund innovative trade that our trade partners already understand. North America is debt to China for $2 trillion dollars. That interest revenue is leaving North America. If all countries arbitrarily decided that capital had a vale that could not be quantify no one would invest here. Our currency is partly valued by our productivity. Innovation helps productivity. It also helps build in our own economy while working with others.

@iooo007 why not work 4 hours and get paid for 8? Why not make minimum wage $200/day the cost, in some markets, of keeping people in prison. Are we better to encourage societies to pay a living wage or build prisons? Which choice uses tax dollars with no ROI and which choice pays taxes?
Advanced economies are sitting idle while we watch emerging economies catch up? How are we suppose to pay for our choices if we are not innovating & getting paid? We can create our own employment and trade.

@etellurian man my proposal with reduction of the working hours would increase the number of jobs per job, workers will be paid less or the same it depends on the market but a high unemployment will have the same effect companies having a large offer of workforce will pay less ,it's better to make an organized decision that to let the free market take it's course ,some people will have jobs and consume a lot other will have no job and ask for social security or go to prison as you pointed out

@iooo007 "less or the same" not good enough. The cost of real estate is not "less or the same". Real estate fluctuates based on many factors. A cost of living index must be attached to the income in order to stay competitive. Food prices, real estate and many other costs change from time to time this change can be offset by increasing wages according to the increase in the cost of living. Advanced economies do a lot of thinking and we do not do all of it for free.Your home is not free.
