If you're going to make these, fade parts like the arms. A gradual fade into the background color looks nicer than a crop in mspaint.

Just throwing some tips out there, I'm not bashing you, all I did for shopping photos was work on the restaurant menu at work.
Either way, are you using Photoshop CS(Insert number here)?
Use the (I want to say sponge tool, I haven't used Photoshop in literally months, I do have a keygen whenever though) and gradually fade borders to the background color. Constructive Critisism.
