I have yet to meet a bigot (aka the people who are against gay marriage) who can explain to me how a man being able to marry a man has any effect whatsoever on straight marriage.

The Christian Special Rights Group is trying to enforce their agenda to turn everyone heterosexual and to keep the special rights of marriage, adoption, to keep them as the only ones who can file "Married" on the Federal Tax Return. That's why Gays want the marriage title, because there is no "Domestic Partner" or "Civil Union" option on the Federal 1040 or in Social Security.

To me it's no surprise it won b/c the same ppl who did the campaigning in Cali funded the campaigning in Maine. It's no surprise. What we can see is that when issues like this are put to a vote ppl don't agree that gay ppl should be married. However, it's not a wide margin but the polls don't lie. One day gay ppl will be able to get married everywhere...the norms of society will be done away with as the Earth gets closer and closer to being destroyed. Everyone's freaked about 2012.

What exactly is politics einstein? You speak as if it is oil to religion's water. Politics is the arena of socital philosophy and organization. Who better equipped to debate the issues that effect our state than the people who love it, believe in it and stand to the end for what they believe to be right. Oooooooh scary...Get a grip, this ad is full of lies. Under the current law, churches CAN'T BE FORCED TO PERFORM SAME SEX MARRIAGES....In fact, they churches can refuse anybody to marry in their church, regardless of sexual orientation.

Attorney General Janet Mills has already stated in a recent ruling, that the State's same-sex marriage law has NO bearing on what can be taught in schools.

have to disagree about the scare tactics. Its a proven fact that within a year of Gay marriage being allowed in Mass., Gay activists sued the schoolboard and forced Gay friendly "King V. King" reading material to be introduced to 6-8th graders without a parental opt out. DOnt you think thats a little young for teaching about an "alternative adult lifestyle"?

This is about the right to get healthcare, the right to see your partner in the hospital, the right to make medical decisions, the right to be a co-parent and protect your child, it is about taxes and other liberties provided to the rest of us that are married. How does giving these rights to all hurt anyone?

LIES! It's easy to see right through these lies - they use a Boston "professor" (watch the fine print!) and allege that same-sex marriage will be taught in schools. I don't recall my teachers ever mentioning marriage (in ANY form) in school - just math, science, history, etc. The churches will NOT lose their tax exempt status - the new equality law actually affirms religious freedom and there is an entire section of the new law protecting churches and religious orgs/individuals.
