I don't know how exactly to ask this or if it'll come out the way I want it to, but: A friend and I would like to visit Asia one of these days, we're American, would we be treated well if we went to the Philippines and could we get around there only speaking English? We're also learning Spanish, too. The reason I haven't learned Tagalog is because I think it might be a hard language to learn, at least for an English speaker and Spanish is more similar to English than Tagalog is, I'd assume.
