  • Ok, you just change the name "blues" by "bluesey" and no more shity comments about this.

  • no emotion, end of story

  • @gould0453

    Clueless, end of story

  • @Sunedosa i feel nothing from his playing, and blues is all about feeling

  • @gould0453

Whatever floats your boat, there's actually people who belives that Kirk Hammet is the best guitarist that ever lived so taste is very subjective.

  • he is a like a clown with this kind of blues he plays

  • i agree he is amazing he's fucking pro

  • he is a robot no feeling

  • @superman321132231

You can't become an all-time rock icon by being a robot, dude, get fucking real - every second guitarist out there is a robot, but there's only one Yngwie Malmsteen. It's obvious that you can't experience what everyone else has experienced - people enjoy the sounds and feel emotions when they listen to Malmsteen, it's your own fault that you can't experience the same.

  • @whatshendrix dear smart ass,i agree 100 percent with what you say. ,you missed something.HE AIN"T NO GOD DAMN BLUES MAN.what i said was only said for dis video noting more noting less.so pay attention when you say the bullshit you say,and don't try to persuade me that he [plays blues cuz you stupify your self

  • @superman321132231

You tell me to pay attention and then you bring up a straw-man argument...

You argue by simply stating the opposite without backing your shit and then you tell me to not try to persuade you. Fine, I won't try to persuade you in anything because it's a waste of time to have a discussion with someone as closed-minded and deluded as you. Have a nice life.

  • @whatshendrix first of all thank and second of all i'll give an example.you use the picture of god for your profile(hendrix),so come on tell me yngee malmsteen is a blues man com' on!

  • best vibrato ever, I completely spazz out when I hear it. Goes through my whole body.

  • @metemi Scalloped fretboard FTW!!!

  • long life at the blues

  • Probably the THE ONLY SHREDER THAT CAN PLAY BLUES!!! All the others just run up and down the neck without a sence of feeling.

  • JESUS!!! HE'S FUCKING GOOD!!!

  • What an insane feeling and intensity, I haven't enough words to describe this sensation.

  • SUCK MY LEAD

  • TALK ABOUT FEELING !!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHO THE FUCK IS BETTER THAN THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IS'NT IT AMAZING WHAT THIS GUY CAN PLAY.... THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS, EVEN THE BLUES,... AND MUCH TASTIER THAN MOST OTHER HOT SHREDDERS EVER EVEN KNEW HE COULD..... NO HE'S NOT JUST A CLASSICAL PLAYER THAT ARPEGGIO'S YOU TO DEATH !!! LISTEN AND APPRECIATE!!!!

  • I think yngwie dont have a soul for playing until i see this video

  • Hater gonna hate, but Yngwie have the feeling and the blues

  • why is it that most people think playing slow means you automatically have soul and vice versa?

  • sex drugs and malmsteen :) how can it get better than this...

To all of you who says that malmsteen doesn't got the blues, well i hate to tell you youre wrong, but youre wrong, at the beginning of this video i didnt noticed it was malmsteen. i thought it was hendrix. that's how good malmsteen is, maybe he will never reach the hendrix style perfectly but he sure knows how to play blues like clapton or bb king or buddy guy

  • FUCK blues purists!! This is how you play blues if you wanna get the pussy.,

  • Blues isn't all about technique. Its the drive, the feeling behind it that plays a vital part, and he, I'm afraid, is missing just that. Do not get me wrong, I really like his playing, just not blues.

  • @grundik1 ok hes using a blues scale, playing a blues song and it was written by a blues artist... so if it isnt blues wtf is it????

  • hahaha that little dance at the end. is that guitar un-scalloped or what.. i think he was scalloping his guitars since he was like 18 or something

  • its true yinguiis way beter at blues than any " blues man" he just blowes then away , jimmi , go get a job at mcdonalds

  • @rymeandreason yngwie malmsteen is a great guitarist . so is jimi hendrix

  • not as good as Dimebag.

  • @dubZZish dude as much love as i have for Dime, he's really only like a D level guitar player on the world class level. Yngwie is an A+. Yngwie is just incredible.

  • @dubZZish Dime bag is an AWESOME guitarist. Incredible. But no where close to how technical Malmsteen is.

  • @bobtheatog Agreed dimebag is awesome but yngwie is just simply the best

  • So thats what passes for blues to eastern euoro's? Try some Johnny Winter if you want to hear the real thing. I'll suggest I'm Yours And I'm Hers, Broke And Lonely, or It's My Own Fault to anyone interested in relentless, inspired, blues guitar licks.

  • the reason hedrix is so much better is because he created... malmsteen plays an already known style just faster...

  • Yngwie Malmsteen sucks at blues watch zakk wylde play some blues i mean he got soul he doesnt just play pointless notes fast like this faggot

  • @masteroftheuniverse4 Zakk plays stupid pointless notes ALL the fucking time. WTF are you smoking? He's awesome, don't get me wrong, but take away his wah pedal and his pitch harmonics he's not all that great. Yngwie is repetitive too, but you can learn much more by studying this guy than you can Zakk. The chord progressions and movements, the technique, the theory...

This guy is famous for a reason, and he has much more credibility in the world of guitar playing than Zakk ever will.

  • Malmsteen would be so much better if he played a bit quicker. This clip looks he's miming too.

  • what is "spasebo"?

  • @Rejekt313

Spasebo is the Swedish word for spasm.

  • @Rejekt313 Might be a bit of a longshot here, but I have a theory about some kind of misunderstanding somewhere in the process of naming this blues song/jam/thing. Since it's from the Live in Leningrad (Russia) concert, I think this was supposed to be named "Spasiba", meaning "Thank You" - being Yngwie's way to say thanks to his russian fans at the concert. But it's just a theory of mine, I have no proof to back it up with.

  • "Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel"- Jimi Hendrix perfect example here.

  • It means "'Thank You' Blues"

  • im in cocaine, and this is the shit, i hate blues, but i love the blues by yngwie has so much soul!!

  • Haha the lick at 1:00 is Yngwie's favourite, if you listen carefully in many of his blues solos he plays that, perhaps inspired by Blackmore's solo in Demons Eye (a favourite of Yngwie's)

  • Yngwie slowed down when he needed to, its not like he was playing fast 100% of the time in this video. Fucking excellent vibrato as well.

  • these blues licks are awsum. hes raised the bar from what clapton and hendrix has done. even thou a would rather listen to hendrix

  • they can play only the notes without the feeling of hendrix or MUddy or gilmour....it's not the same if you hear them or Hendrix....Yngwi solo's can easy be played by a skilfull player but fealling it's not about skills....

  • The thing about blues is.. Standing on the shoulders of all the greats, who came before you! Lets you see further than they! (sorry, but YJM IS cool) Peace !

  • @rawzone1 Everyone just quit the nonsense. It's like a war here. He's this, he's that. He is what he is, and that is all. You cannot replicate a blues artist and you cannot replicate Yngwie. If everyone could just appreciate a musician, that's all there's to it. You guys should start placing bets on these musicians, I mean you treat them like sports fans treat sports. Blues are blues, and YM is YM. If you don't like it, too f**king bad because it's there and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • You don't have to be black, wife left you or your dog died, to be playing the blues. It is after all, a timing and rythm signature. Malmsteen played the blues, he didn't have the blues. If this isn't so, then a true blues listener has one Robert Johnson album in their entire collection.

  • stop with all the "its not real blues" crap. Its his interpretation of the blues. Yes he shreds a lot, but if you don't like shredding what the hell are you doing listening to yngwie?

  • Yngwie Malmsteen gives you the most

notes for your dollar every time.

And listening to him play is like speed-reading the dictionary.

  • People seem to be overlooking the fact that Yngwie isn't a Blues player - He's a shredder - which by the way takes a lot more skill than it does to play the blues.

  • david gilmour can play less and say more!

  • Red House

    yeahhhhhhhhhh

  • The blues grandfathers wouldn't bother playing with Malmsteen. He's not a team player, anyway.

  • "play what's not there" =Miles davis

  • Sounded great when he broke up his playing right at the start! He could learn a lot from Jeff Beck.

  • wow .. that's the fisrt tune of YM that sounds good ^^

  • YM has its techniques in playing guitar. ds is not real blues, no inspiration and feelings.. but still awesome YM!

  • If there's anyone who thinks there isn't any feeling in this they're crazy.

    Malmsteen is amazing.

  • @GuitarDave5150 yup..........a litle lost if you comment theres NO feeling in this LOL. cmon!!! Killer vibe/phrasing/chops and emotion.

  • Hair Metal/classical blues

  • He played ahead of the beat the whole time. Not once did he allow the grove to take hold. Great technique, poor blues.

  • Malmsteem great , no comments......

  • did he mean statesboro blues? lol

i love swedish people, dey so kwazy

  • NO, he didnt mean "statesboro" blues. It's "SPASEBO". Do some homework before attempting to make fun of people... as to not make a complete fool of yourself.

  • Спасибо or transliterated "Spasibo" means thank you in Russian making sense considering he is playing this in Leningrad (St. Petersburg, Russia)

  • what a feel! doesn't matter what the haters say... malmsteen can play the blues a way lot better than some so called "bluesmen"

  • i think the same man

Yngwie makes such great blues !!

    i love it

    Yngwie rules

  • @thom188 , Don't devalue precursors who came way before malmsteen, they were masters of the blues then and they still are now, saying that malmsteen is 'better' only displays ignorance. Malmsteen isn't the only one with blues chops, hunt around for videos of Jeff Healey or Gary Moore.

Usually the ones devaluing older players are the ones who in fact can't even play the blues with any degree of real skill.

  • @luigiperso I'm just sayin that people tend to think that only popular blues players that are not virtuosos on the guitar can play with "feel" , malmsteen just showed otherwise in this video. meaning you don't need to be a limited, pentatonic scale player to play with "soul"

  • @thom188 No one even knows what soul means in guitar playing, they just hear fast players and without even thinking about it label them as shredders with no emotion.

  • @thom188 Malmsteen can play everything better than anyone else. Not just blues and classical, everything! lol. The guy is a freak. I say show apreciation while hes here with us. Dont wait till someone passes before singing there praise. Show then while you can. Malmsteen is the most talented guitarist we have ever seen. Im talking out right talent, no one comes close to Malmsteen.

  • @thom188 I'm not a hater and what you say is right. He can play the blues much better than ALL so called Bluesmen. But not better than any REAL bluesman...

  • @thom188

listen SRV, you will learn "what a feel!" means. Please be respectful, because of these "so called bluesman" of the past, all the great guitarists of today are here

  • This is NOT classical blues man, it's his version and there's nothing wrong with it. It's a new sound for the genre, Yngwie isn't the kind of guy to copy others, he will forge his own way. Don't like it, then go watch Albert King or Johnny Winters or Stevie Ray. They are all great in their own regard... YJM may not play like those other guys but I'd like to see them play like him.

  • Eeeeeng weeeeeeee!!!!!

  • how do u say his 1st name

  • Ing-Vey

  • I love this

  • Its the blues...more than hendrix or buddy guy will ever be, Why? because I said so

  • Yes, because they are dead.

  • i ahte people who say he cant play the blues i think this is awsome man

  • fuck....yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love the outfit

  • Cool. Sounded good.

  • Amazing..

  • Red House shred rip off. He shows he can play blues if he felt like it, I guess, but he'd rather piss notes.

  • and he can piss for a long time tho, u gotta admit xD

  • it's called a blues because it uses the blues progression to solo over, just like when a jazz bebop player solo's over a blues chord progression, and yes it doesn't sound like muddy waters or howlin wolf. but blues is also a musical term used to describe certain chord progession and by that standard it is difinetly a blues

  • every one plays blues with a different way....

    thats what yngwie does...

this is what blues is all about for him...

    and you know what??

he has so much passion in his playing...

  • This is fucking awesome, love that sound of harmonic minor with penta it's really fresh. Show me 1 min solo with more vibe than this... yeah right!!! wicked. Fuck off all you haters saying this is not blues, sure it's not, but what else to call it.. it still is excellent shit right here...

  • GOD

  • i want his guitar !!!!!

  • sounds like red house

  • Too bad he cant play guitar. He probably has a successful future in the fast food or hotel custodian industry.

    Im totally kidding.

  • You can't dream of playing this, so you complain about it. What a loser. Keep playing your little pentatonic pattern, and I'll keep blowing guitarists like you off the stage.

  • lol ok

  • thank you

  • hendrix + bach = malmsteen

    >;o)

  • .. no

  • godfather, you are wrong, the germans almost had Leningrad, but they never took the city completly. What a sadness =( .

  • Malmsteen and the blues. Together as one...Makes ya wanna shit your pants.

  • is that meant to be a good thing?

  • but better

  • Exactly!

  • It shouldn't. Yngwie can actually play guitar. Big difference.

  • excellent playing !!!

  • ha, leningrad. he should visit russia more, not joking

  • so awesome

  • Wonderful playing!

  • we germans had leningrad in worldwarII!!! and stalingrad nearly too :D! rip german soldiers! DER FURCHT SO FERN DEM TOD SO NAH! HEIL DIE SA!

  • Shutup you fucking idiot.

  • yo tengo ese video en VHS jaj thanks for post XD

  • It depends what does it means to some people walking or acting funny in these situations. I wouldn't Yngwie walked funny in the stage, actually in the 80's there was this phenomena where musicians wanted to make show, not only headbanging like nowdays. Anyway, what is important is the MUSIC !

  • He plays blues better than actual Americans guitar players...

  • i'm more fast than malmsteen i'm toni !!!!!

  • i would like to have no feal like that !

  • yngwie has no feal it's the most annoying thing to listen to besides the dentist drilling your teeth

  • thank you!

  • De gustibus. I love the way he play Blues and in general he was the only talented guitar player that have the talent to play so cleaner and fast with a Stratocaster.

  • egits, are you serious? If so, I really think you ought to listen to the Malm more in depth. Especially before you make such criticism.

  • Have you ever noticed how Yngwie walks like a drunken woman when he is walking around the stage. He over does it a bit. Although he plays well, he sure looks like a fag

  • hes swedish its not his fault haha

  • well blues is sometimes just same as metal to play fast n play random what ever...so when a guy who plays fast plays slow it sounds like blues..but hendrix was creative...good luck

    peace

  • lmao over exegeration but yea he walks funny sometimes around the stage

  • so flashy that my eyes hurt but my heart dont cry..

  • thats so sweet!

  • he's a great guitarist, but he's definitaly no Stevie Ray Vaughan or Buddy Guy and the likes......

  • Clapton IS the blues? He used to be, a little bit. But how do you explain his pop, rock or even dance albums? Armani suits, overprocessed sound and disco rythms? Lately, he's been trying to "go back to the roots" with totally lame music as a result. Clapton being a blues legend??!! WTF are ppl thinking out there?

  • this is not blues.. the blues is spirit.. this is speedy.. bah..

  • That's an extremely fucking narrow-minded, closed, elitist view of blues.

  • This is great!! Yngwie really can play blues with feeling. This is far better than Clapton.

  • rebolo que nem um bixx

  • k now why does this sound like a song... i swear to god i heard this before...

  • Red House?

  • oh lol thanks bro no wonder.. now that i hear it again the intro igives it away thanks man peace out

  • very very very nice times... that wont never return :~

spasebo, mr yngwie! (spasebo = thanx in russian)

  • now adays he incorperates harmoic minor into his blues, which doesnt even make it sound like blues anymore.... why couldnt he stay brilliant :/

  • lol jimmi not came up with this progression, the progression is as old as blues. its a simple "blues 12" and verry comon in blues and rock n roll

  • davidisamazing - rethink that, without clapton and bb king, arguably two of the best blues artists in modern times yngwie would possibly never be around.

  • he was joking you fucking idiot

  • Those of you who claim shredders have no soul seem to be authorities on what the term means. Is soul consituted by how long you hold a bent note (ala B.B King) or is it playing what you feel is inside of you to play? I might justas well say jimi may have had soul (of one kind), but as far as technique for today goes, he wanked alot..but i won't.

  • There ya go, thats how ya play the blues, you listenin Clapton?

  • I'm sure Jimi would much rather just be breathing...This guy is fast and has amazing technique, but he has no SOUL, which is what the blues is all about.

  • exactly

  • You show me a 1 minute improvised blues solo as good as this, hobey84. If you can, my mind is changed.

  • agreed. fucking haters.

  • how about Hendrix's solo on red house? Or ehm... muddy Waters' 2-note solo's, you know? Blues is not about shredding scales en playing incredibly fast. It is about giving a very right feel to each note, no matter how slow...

  • Any guitarist playing a year can cover any Hendrix or Muddy song... 99% of pro guitarists can't cover ANY Yngwie song.

  • That, quite frankly, is irrelevant.

  • ya i love yngwie but i still can't play that many of his songs, they're way to hard to learn

  • what about John Mayer's Bold as love cover, That is Perfection!

  • @JZLucas LOL Really? Who do you know that could cover a Hendrix solo accurately after a year of playing? I would love to hear what you call a "hendrix cover".

This is quite possible the most musically idiotic statement of all time.

  • @PilotDoofy Yes, really. Hendrix is not difficult at all to play. His live material is filled with mistakes. He's #1 as far as being innovative, but chops-wise he's most sloppy.
