  • Elvis gave Nixon a firearm yet Nixon abhored firearms, was a gun control advocate and thought American citizens should not be trusted with guns. Elvis had redeeming character, yet Nixon was a tyrannt of the highest order.

  • great guy to the end

  • This was very interesting meeting. I don't think Nixon should have given Elvis the badge just because he wanted it. It was ridiculous what Nixon said about Elvis just taking prescription drugs. Elvis did smoke pot, used LSD twice and snorted liquid cocaine. He got Joyce Bova, the friend Jerry referred to, pregnant and then talked her into getting an abortion. I think it is fascinating that Elvis had fans working in the White house. Cool stuff. Elvis was and still is a interesting person.

  • Terrific! A must see! Three guys with a great sense of humor talking about Elvis meeting Nixon. They provide a lot of insight information in a very entertaining round. Thanks to the National Archives for posting it.

  • @caucus100 The reason His voice was in decline. was becouse of the perscriptions medicine He was taken. They alter your voice you know. In 1970 That's the way It Is. The President Of the International Hotel said. And I quote him. Elvis Has more drowing Power than Sinatra, Dean Martin. Of course straisand, He said is our own star. Still they Can't Compete. Albert Goldman's Book Titled ' Elvis' Was to me the ultimate. He Goes back to the Red Neck Roots. And The fallowup The last 3 day's.

  • To this day I'm fascineted With ELVIS. Emagine If he Had Lived Lived Frank Sinatra's Age. Imagine a Europian Tour. That the Cornal did not Grant, Becouse of his citizenship status. Only 42 YRS. old. The Most fotogrephed man in the 20th. century. Only 4 signatuter's are worth this day. Marilin Monroe, Johnn Kennedy, Abreham Lincon, And Elvis.

  • @caucus100 Why don't you relax. This was 1970. Betty Ford clinic wasn't born yet!

  • Just wanted to say, but as a nobody myself, anyway ive had the pleasure to meet Mr. Jerry Shilling twice , just so happened each time I was just a little ( I wish i could think of a nicer way to put it) "my bad luck" "Drunk" just a little, but Still he was probly the nicest most genuine man anyone could ever meet . No dout Elvis never questioned his loyality . As of any Books that anyone would ever want to read about Elvis I would sugest Jerry Shillings. Im sure Elvis valued his freindship.

  • ELVIS NEVER PLAYED JOHN BURROWS HE PLAYED JOHN CARPENTER, YOUR WRONG JERRY!!!!!

  • This was a Gem. "Only in America!"

  • @knowingElvis lemme tell u a secret! the killing of death of elvis presley was a symbolic ritual by the occult oligarchy masonic brotherhood that rules the planet n over our egotistical nature to kill the heart, bcause was the symbolism of the heart, but it backfired! They always do these rituals they did it agains with princess diana because she too was a symbolism of the heart and these ppl are anti-christ! :) Like I said but with Elvis it backfired in their occult masonic faces!

  • @Zecalran well said man!!! Couldnt of said it better myself!

  • Great stuff, the hour flew by. give me more like this, please.

  • I love this story, thanks for posting it.

    There's only one Elvis Presley.

  • where was Sonny west, why wasn't he invited to this event, Sonny was also there in Washington with Elvis and Jerry at the white house.

  • Hello, Coolmuzz, the most like-to-be in the pure fact of Sonny not being there, elicits directly to his overall breakup domain of Elvis his private life in the case for hard medication patterns, in his coming out with such. A before the public scene that still takes to Elvis his all people surroundings, in lethal terms.

As it came out before him and thus the world. Such will most powerfully never be overcome by some, in the areas of Elvis his concernings.

  • Great stuff.

  • Really great story about this meeting!

  • Why wasn't Sonny West part of this? He was there on that day too?
