The amount of dramatic irony Atlus put in this scene is a testament to how amazing this game is. The irony is so thick, it's really beautiful, but....it's so thick, it's almost tangible, and is making me slightly sick to my stomach... :-

Obviously. Living only in the moment is wrong, and it's later shown to be Strega's motivation if you chose not to kill Ryoji. Having the main characters accept the villain's life philosophy (and subsequently having that choice get them killed off screen) is a pretty extreme way of showing a bad ending.

The main character dies if you get the good ending because in order to kill nyx, he must sacrifice himself, and use an attack that requires all his HP. You have a few more days of school, and die in the hands of Aigis. In short, he dies anyway.

If you think about it this is kinda the "good" ending, especially if the main character did die or is in a coma because His/her (depends if you played portable) soul is never allowed to escape or pass on, because in this case once the world ends the character's soul is still allowed to pass on, meaning that the main character gets to stick with all of his/her friends!;D -winkwink- I think I might go for this ending...

Then again the "good" ending is all how you yourself depict it. After all, no story is set in stone and there can be many parallel worlds even in real life that can be the same but have very different outcomes, so why can't the ending be all how the player depicts it?

So~ The main character could have died, gone into a coma, have his soul trapped,

or just simply fell asleep from exhaustion and is perfectly okay (which I'm going to take on that idea myself~)

All in all, a game is how you think of it...But I would find it strange to have a soulless body walking around that seems to have a brain, because that is against all laws of anything.O.o...I mean obviously the main character was "alive" and had a soul...gosh...this game is confusing.

then the "good" ending the MC dies which sucks but then again it all comes dwn to if you understand what "The Answer" shows you about the role of the MC after using the final attack against Nyx

The right ending is the one where you let Ryoji live. You climb to the top of Tartarus battle Jin and Takaya, defeat Nyx with the MC alone. He dies in the end but thats the one that "The Answer" is based on

In this ending, the heroes run away from death. In the true ending, they confront it and manage to delay the destruction of the world. Playing the extra scenario in FES clarifies many questions from the main game.

I still think that is not as bad as Odin Sphere's endings. I mean come on, at least "Zenon" is satisfied in that bad ending in Disgaea 2. Just watch what happens after Mercedes fights the Beast of Darkova or Gwendolyn fights Onyx. Everyone, including villains, gets to be miserable in Odin Sphere's bad endings.
