  • That awkward moment when you're waving your hat and knock Lance Armstrong down in a final attack phase in the Tour de France...

  • Why aren't they wearing helmets?

  • @dahkillahmac The dour de france as well as a few other large bike races have rules that if it's a mostly or I think all climbing stage they do not have to wear a helmet since the risk of head injury goes down and it adds to the weight. Some will often take them off durinf the climb

  • how the hell did the commentators not see that stupid kid waving that yellow hat(?) around, which is what caught Lance's handlebar

    Johnsons

  • Thumbs up if the muscles in your legs were pulsing up and down while watching this. :-)

  • are the commentators blind?? you can clearly see his right handle bar getting snagged on that spectators little yellow flag thingy. the flag even goes flying out of their hand. not exactly hard to see.

  • @roadrunnerblink i dunno, it LOOKed by purpose. the guy suddenly pulls his yellow CAP out as soon as armstrong came. either by purpose or accident.

  • Those guys are retards, its very obvious that his handlebar caught on something that a spectator was holding.

  • @ORGANICxCYCLIST Those guys don't see the pictures that we see...

  • Phil Liggett must be blind! "We don't know what happened!" WATCH THE FEED YOU MORON!!

  • @TomSolo93 Who says, a guy on YouTube? No other cyclist has been tested as much as lance, so stop wasting your time trying to slander people on YouTube.

  • that was doping!

  • At 0:47... I don't see "The Situation" anywhere... get it??

  • that explains testicular cancer

  • he only has one ball so im not surprised that he kept going lol

    JK hes an inspiration tho

  • dang u can clearly see that at 0:38 seconds that somebody's yellow hat or pursue gets stuck on his handlebars and accidently pulls him sideways sooo sad, if i was that spectator, i would have felt so bad!!! :(

  • Armstrong is and was clean. The French just hate the idea he won their race so often. Shame really. Great race. Great rider. I believe the French police couldn't ever find any evidence ?

  • To good for me to believe.

  • @TheHelder1976 It's not like he's winning by miles, don't you understand that? Every win he's barely ahead of the 2nd placer. He keeps a slightly faster pace than others and keeps it up. He's not the fastest sprinter out there but he has by and far the most endurance.

  • Drug-user or not. Love Lance Armstrong the rider (not the person). Just a personal preference, but I love watching riders who attack in order to win. Cadel Evans won, but the moment of the this years tour was Schleck's attack on the Coul de Galibier and Voekler's relentless defence of the maillot jaune. I hate riders who are content to stay in the peloton and chase. Also, I hate Marc Cavendish. How can a guy get so much publicity when he struggles to get over the tiniest hills? Just sayin

  • Lance Armstrong did a number of things, and he gave himself cancer. He cheated, he did drugs, and he gave himself cancer. Well, instead of saying ‘Hey listen, I cheated and gave myself cancer. Don’t be like me,’ he actually made himself the victim and then went out and profited something like $15 million from this ‘Hey, poor me, let’s find a cure for cancer’ campaign instead of just coming clean and saying, ‘Look, here’s what I did, I screwed myself up, and I hope people learn from my mistakes

  • I remember seeing this when i was young, man such awesome entertainment

  • @Cyclingmadman true mate, the way the commentators are talking they are absolute nutters. What I find funny is the replay is shown more than once and they are still sure that it is not a crowd problem.

  • @fuzzywzhe You shouldn't instigate the drug situation any further. I was recommending that people should stop the speculation, but all you want to do is speculate. There athletes, and it's not there fault you can't keep up with there 25mph average.

  • Stupid child

  • @LeVol0ntaire "Stupid child"

I don't think it was the kid, it looks like the locking mechanism in the pedal failed. I've had that happen, and it totally sucks. Easy way to get hurt when you keep slipping off. I wouldn't even dare to stand up with a broken pedal.

  • It was no accident the guy in the audince did that on perpes ..

  • Lance was never proven guilty of taking drugs. So stop the speculation.

  • @OneManArmy4Life "Lance was never proven guilty of taking drugs. So stop the speculation."

Anybody that has done competitive biking knows Armstrong is on "supplements" that may not be classified as drugs yet.

ANYBODY that competes on this level is on something. They average 23 miles an hour through the entire Tour De France - and they are biking the alps. This is not to say that Armstrong isn't an incredible cyclist, it's saying nobody can compete with just good nutrition and plenty of rest

  • @OneManArmy4Life he was using something undetectable ...

  • Uh, that kid ruins it for him...

  • stupid commentator

  • Ullrich is the best, he waited!

  • huh no helmets?

  • @MaoriMoney The rule used to be that if the finish of a stage was all uphill and longer then (I think) 10km, they could get rid of their helmets at the bottom of the climb.

  • the doping really helped Armstrong here, just ask Tylor Hamilton :D

  • How often do crashes happen in the Tour de France? Why do they allow spectators to get so close? It looks chaotic.

  • @RewardHonesty Well crashes happen almost daily in every Tour de France, giro d'italia or vuelta tour.

It is a risk the cyclists take.Spectators so close is just part of it but i agree it is dangerous. And if you think this is chaotic try looking up some video's here where they finish on top of a mountain when they only have a very small piece off the road to ride on.

  • @selanne1981 Thanks for your reply. Hard to believe that the fans aren't more respectful to the competitors. All that training and preparation and a fan can change the outcome of the entire race. Looks like some fans are careful to maintain their position on the sidelines, but others are all over the place.

  • @RewardHonesty Mostly when the cyclists do hit a spectator they usually get very angry, as they should.

People just don't get it that they should move aside when they pass and they just keep standing there.

  • Someone explain to me what happened at 0:45. The one in orange was getting ready to get back into the race and the spectators/officials stopped him? Is he supposed to stay there if he got involved in the crash?

  • @Sustructy 1. Ullrich was still waiting because he did not attack. They slowed their pace when Tyler came up. Ullrich still could not of listened but he did and slowed down.

    2. 2001 was completely different. Ullrich was 4 minutes behind Armstrong. It was downhill while this was uphill. Ullrich had a teammate with him and could have caught a tired Lance by himself and Lance could have lost time.

    3. If Jan and Lances places were swapped would Lance have not attacked?

  • It wasn't a hat. It was a souvenir musette bag that snagged his bars.

  • Gentlemen cycling etiquette. These young Tour guys now are cut throat!

  • Contador dislikes this video.

  • He has waited, can you not understand it when the commentators tell you that?

Making fun of his previous medical condition is foolish, making fun of cancer is PATHETIC.

  • I wonder if the uniballer would have waited for Ullrich, I doubt it!

  • what a man...

  • and the helmets?

  • @mAr1n4o going uphill.. and uphil finish, no need helmets

  • The kid with the yello hat who's fault it was!!!

    HAHAHAHA

    his face is priceless!

  • When something is too good to be true, usually is because it is a lie.

This is too good to be true, he crash one time, almost ctash a second time, recover the disadvantage and pass through the other like a fucking rocket.

And do not forget who was there to, Jan Ulrich, who later came to admit that he used drugged, still not been able to follow Armstrong.

Each one of you take your own conclusions.

Sorry for my poor inglish, of course inglish is not my first language.

  • @TheHelder1976 your opinion is poor too

  • armstrong attacked again because the drugs were still pumping!

  • @markyboy26able shut up u negative bastard

  • Feckin spectators keep them off the riders ::P

  • I wonder how much Armstrong payed Ullrich to wait for him ? Race is a race if you can win you'll do everything ! Contador was right when attacking sorry Schleck but race is race!

    P.S I'M NOT SPANISH

  • @TheSirOlivier you are an idiot

  • @TheSirOlivier Listen to the commentators!Armstrong waited for Ullrich so Ullrich will wait for him. You can see how important it is to wait in cycling. Ulrich was willing to take drugs to cheat but still did not attack when Armstrong had crashed.

  • @TheSirOlivier In the Tour the convention or if you like the unwritten rule is that you NEVER attack the yellow jersey if he has a mechanical problem. But your'e also not supposed to eat steak that is contaminated with clenbuterol either.

  • Armstrong waited for Ullrich.

    Ullrich waited for Armstrong.

Schleck's didn't wait for Contador (cobbles).

    Contador didn't wait for Schleck.

    Simple.

  • @Metwaron You said it all

  • 0:52

That looks like a kid with the yellow flag who lowers his arm and intentionally grabbed his handlebar to make him crash.

  • Contador aprende, no es ganar como sea, es ganar con gallardía, ulrich fue un competidor honorable y Gallardo

  • Lance you are the greatest, enjoy the time off

  • It's a bike race, right? How can Contador be wrong?

  • @Milic1888

    Unwritten rules.

  • ullrich was a great sportsman! Legend!! Was great he didnt attack.

  • hera euskaltel euskadi

  • EPO

  • you are fuck man, shit

  • contador é uma merda!

    go Andy!

  • I saw that on live and i ever thought if that behavior from Jan was to avoid the fury from Lance.

  • Alberto Contador could learn something from this video...

  • @ICEHOCEY77 - Contador doesn't deserve the title after this 16st stage...what he did was not fair to use the yellow jersey.

  • @ICEHOCEY77 Alberto Contador is a bitch, lance is the best ever!

  • @ICEHOCEY77 you are right...Contador pretended he did not know!!!

  • @ICEHOCEY77

    HAHAHA.

    Poor Andy :D

  • @ICEHOCEY77 the reason Ullrich stopped was because of Hamilton (ex-teammate of Armstrong). He rode in front of the group and said thay had to wait, like Armstrong waited for Ullrich.

  • @ICEHOCEY77 No he wouldn't.. He can't speak English XD LOL!

  • @ICEHOCEY77 Yeah how to hide your drug taking!

  • @ICEHOCEY77

Andy should learn to find the right gear

  • @ICEHOCEY77

Really ? Do you remember when Beloki crashed and Amstrong crossed the field ?

  • @ICEHOCEY77 learn ?? from amstrong?? JA JA JA !!! Learn to crash other men? learn to wait ullrich but no beloki??? amstrong fuck you!

  • no one is learning now we miss those men we miss those days contador is one of scared ladies on tdf tour is over on 2005 till now nothing

  • baahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah....

  • I remember watching this live... can't believe it's been 7 years since.

  • @thechoosendude who won ???

  • Comment removed

  • i crashed one month ago. i got an adrenalin rush, and it i felt like i could ride better after.

  • Lets wave a frickin flag in the road while bikes race by, good on ya.

  • How can it be unclear commentators! Its the freaking kid waving the yellow hat that got stuck in bike handlebar.

  • @projectile123 lol, guarantee they're watching the wheels.

  • @projectile123 I hate spectators at the tour, really winds me up watching.

  • @projectile123 i know that you did this comment a year ago, but wasn't it a bag not hat?

  • After all this time, I finally see what happened. The HAT!!!!

  • awesome!!!

  • thanks :)
