@Arcanage actually it was the west indies but same point... if we were playing India they would have been Indian, if we were playing England they would have been Pom's the yanks def wouldn't have found it offensive if it was England and probably wouldn't have batted an eye lid if it was India. They are just too over sensitive when it comes to anything that can be seen as racist against black people... even when there is no racism there.
And the extant "'fame'' of the African person is quite meaningless to Australians to begin with because our knowledge, and experience of so-called black people was for many decades restricted mostly to the indigineous Aborigines. The issues in Western Europe, Britain and America were and still are a long way away.
Well now, here we go. Many of you Negroes are masochistic and need this type of shit which is why they'll never give it up and understand that it is a dead issue in Australia. By enabling it to come into existence here gives them there own superior moral authority. Well it's either that or they're just plain stupid.
Why did Australians not want Americans to see this ad? You guys seem to be so upset that it was even leaked online. You knew this shit was racist and you didn't want anyone from another country to see it.
@InMyNightSky - Aussies hid it from the world by playing it over and over again on primetime TV. They didn't know that some idiots would watch a guy with an Aussie accent wearing an Aussie cricket shirt at a cricket match among some Jamaican flag and Windies cricket shirt wearing, calypso music playing Windies cricket fans and think, wow this must be an ad about Americans!!!
@bvwcad If they hid it its' because they knew... and we're only talking about KFC here not world history. KFC uses stereotypes all the time but it's not that big of a deal, I'm just saying be aware. Didn't think people loved KFC to a point where it would be tied to their self worth. This argument is about one side saying KFC knows what they are doing and the other is Australians defending that they aren't racist. We're not talking about the same thing. KFC's history isn't a country's history.

@InMyNightSky I don't think anyone is upset over the ad being leaked online. People are getting upset because of the way in which it was twisted. The creators of the ad weren't trying to make it racist. The ad's about an Aussie cricket supporter who sat with the wrong team and felt awkward as they were all celebrating their own teams' success.
Australians have different issues with racism to Americans and other nations so I suppose it can be viewed differently depending on where you're from.
I think the add's racist, but I don't think it was intended to be. Yes, the creators stepped over a line, but I don't know that it was deliberate. I realise this may sound naive, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here.
@BrookeJadeX not racist... nothing to do with race dude. Its about a guy who sits with the wrong team. Nobody is rowdy/uncivilized like TYT suggest, they are taking things too far.
@P3B34r Yeah that was the other side of what I was thinking. I'd actually never even thought of it as being racist until I saw this video and when I did it made me wonder.
@P3B34r every thing is racist these days... Apparently its now racist to wave the Aussie flag or have it on your car or something on Australia day according to an ACA report earlier tonight. I give up this planet is full of too many idiots. Maybe I should just stop watching the news and crap like this on Youtube.
@P3B34r That's actually why I was looking up racism videos; to see if I could find anything on the Australian flag issue. The whole thing has gone too far. It's like 'Bah Bah Black Sheep' being changed to 'Bah Bah Rainbow Sheep'. I mean how can people take themselves seriously knowing how out of hand this has gotten?
@BrookeJadeX /watch?v=8YXw-aLev5I there's one on it... stupidest thing I've ever heard, mates of mine who are Leb and fly both flags... representing where they came from and who they are now. What's that song from the old Qantas ad... I am, you are, we are Australian where they have all the different ethnic groups... That's my Australia! Who cares about the bogans, their just losers without jobs and do nothing anyway.
@P3B34r yeah that's so true. I saw that video when it was on the news and I understand where people are coming from with it, I don't know that that's how it was supposed to be viewed. I mean channel 9 were just reporting on a survey and the big lead up to Australia day because they clearly have nothing else worth talking about.
I like that song, though. It makes so much sense and it's true for the most part. There's just a few people that ruin it for everyone else.
@bvwcad Ok first off I'd appreciate it if you didn't attack me by implying that I'm incompetent. And yes, by stating that I don't listen in class and don't know what I'm talking about you ARE attacking me. Secondly I never said that they do.
@bvwcad The ad plays on an international stereotype of Jamaicans, not African Americans and if you'd read the conversation between P3B34r and myself then you would realise that I see the other side in this argument as well as the racist side. It's all about how you look at it.
So please, make sure you know what you're talking about before you comment. I have no interest in wasting my time with people who clearly don't understand the situation they're commenting on before they make a remark.
@bvwcad As I said before: I'm not interested in wasting my time on someone who I now realise is hypocritical. You can talk about ignorance all you want, but you clearly haven't got a clue.
As I also said before: read the conversation before commenting. The whole issue depends on where in the world you're from and the types of racism you've grown up with and learnt about. Pay attention.
@BrookeJadeX - The issue is that this ad is not racist. Where you come from does not make this ad racist. Ignorance is the only thing that can make this ad racist.
@bvwcad Only it does and that's the thing that you're not understanding. Americans, for example, are brought up learning all about black slavery and the civil war. Australians, however, learn about the stolen generation. To an American watching, this the Ad may seem racist because of the reasons listed in the video. Not only that, but they're unlikely to understand the reference to Australian cricket and the way in which the people featured are behaving.
@bvwcad Need I point out that I'm not disagreeing with your statement that this ad is not racist? P3B34r convinced me of that. As I've said several times now, read the conversation before commenting. Your ignorance is becoming pathetic.
@BrookeJadeX - You posted "I see the other side in this argument as well as the racist side." Which racist side were you talking about? The one that you now say doesn't exist? Perhaps you need to read your posts again?
@bvwcad And that was true for the first part, but then I realised how cultural differences can affect people's opinions and decided to ignore the video's reasons, which were the opinions of people who probably grew up in america judging by their accents and have a very American based view on the issue. Thus my point before about where you grow up.
Now if you've finally figured out that I'm not arguing that it's racist you can stop messaging me and get on with your life.
@BrookeJadeX - If some people are so ignorant they see Americans in this ad that has nothing to do with cultural differences and nothing to do with where they grew up. It has everything to do with them just being idiots. How many clues do you need in a 20-sec video to understand there are no Americans portrayed? SMH
@bvwcad I never said that there are Americans in the ad. I said that some people will watch it with an American point of view and see it differently to others.
Now I'm curious, what exactly is your point in all of this? Because it seems to me that your arguments have become desperate and irrelevant and it's leaving me feeling pretty exasperated.
@bvwcad Because I understood where the two people talking about it were coming from. Do you get it now or do I have to re-explain like I've been doing for almost the entirety of this conversation?
@BrookeJadeX - So when you posted "I think the add's racist" you thought the ad was racist. You say you knew there were no Americans in the ad, so why did you think it was racist? You really need to read through your posts again to see how stupid you look.
When I first posted that comment I was taking into consideration the views of the two people in the video. Then I realised how them being Americans might have influenced those views and changed them. I then changed my opinion whilst speaking to P3B34r. Then you came along and twisted my words hoping to make whatever you deem to be a point, but failed miserably.
I swear it's like I'm talking to a brick wall, only the wall would be more intelligent.
@bvwcad It seems to me that you need to read the posts and work on your comprehension skills because you didn't understand them and you took them the wrong way. Please come back an talk to me when you're not illiterate.
@BrookeJadeX - You want to present two sides to this ad as if they both have merit. Idiots see this ad as racist. It's not cultural, it's not geographical, it's just plain old ignorance.
@bvwcad Ahahaha! Would this be a bad time to tell you I've been trolling for this conversation? I'm Australian. I know what the ad's about and I know it's not racist. Looks it's been fun, but you really need to chill out.
@BrookeJadeX - You deliberately put information on a public online webpage so people wouldn't look at it? You understand this is a YouTube page? I suppose you have never, not once ever, ever looked at anyone else's YouTube page? SMH
@bvwcad Right. You do realise that I had to re-explain everything to you because you're comprehension skills are apparently too low to allow for you to classify as being literate, right? Or has that escaped your seemingly unparalleled belief that you're right?
Sweety your attempts at insults are adorable and all, but let's face it: you're incompetent.
Either that or this is your indignant attempt at making up for the fact that you were upset by my patronising and condescending use of words.
@bvwcad From the person who apparently wasn't paying attention. Look you're clearly unable to understand English, because if you were then you'd have understood the argument before and the whole 'trolling' thing. But that's ok because you're some random from god knows where and your opinion and insults are absolutely worthless to me, as they will always be because you yourself are worthless to me. =) Anyway this is boring, so I'm just going to leave now. Have fun with whatever it is you do.
Australia is not the best place for people of color. I have heard on several occasions that there is hardly any black people in Australia. I wonder if they are even protect under hate crime laws.
@InMyNightSky your ignorance makes me sick... their are plenty of black people in Australia and there are laws protecting people from hate crimes and hate speech but thats not even relevant to whether this ad is racist WHICH ITS NOT. You must be one angry bastard to see racism everywhere you go. As for The Young Turks they are a bunch over sensationalist propaganda spready arseholes.
The ad is racist but Australians are mad because we are calling them out on it. This KFC ad is racist and is fucking stupid. Who the hell gives someone chicken in order for them to calm down? If they would have used white people instead of black people, the ad would still be fucking stupid but instead they showed a scared white guy surrounded by a bunch of black people dancing and having fun. OMG, the white guy is so uncomfortable. Give the black people chicken to calm their asses down.
@InMyNightSky - People with a functioning brain are just pointing out how ignorant you are. They're not mad, they just can't understand how stupid some people are. How many American's do you see in this ad?
@bvwcad The stereotype is not just used in america by KFC. This is true when you're shown in another foreign KFC ad that the change Obama believes in is that instead of chicken he's going to sell fish... but this argument is already resolved and there was a consensus. KFC should know better especially since every branch represents their overall image. Everyone complaining thinks this is about Aussies being racist, well it isn't...
@WizPigTactics - It's an American stereotype about Americans. Don't take my word for it, just Google it. This issue is not about Aussies being racist it's about idiots wanting everyone else to work at their level.
@WizPigTactics isn't it a bit over the top to say black people can not be in KFC commercials, that's racist in itself, its like saying no black people can't eat KFC. Secondly as already stated the commercial is about KFC sponsoring the cricket and promotion that coincided with the cricket. The joke has nothing to do with American sterotypes but im just repeating myself now :S
@ninjachick81 never said black people can't be in KFC commercials.
And it's incredibly naive that a company would be oblivious in their marketing. Especially one with such a history, I'm saying they are aware and they made the wrong move. I myself am not offended, but to say that it doesn't push the stereotype while looking at KFC's ad history is incredibly hard to swallow. It inevitably pushes the stereotype worldwide with the age of the internet anyways.
@WizPigTactics - This ad does not change the social history of cultures around the world. It show's cricket fans at a cricket match. An event that was actually taking place at the time and KFC were sponsoring. Downgrading everyones intelligence to the level of people who actually see Americans in this ad is not the best policy.
@ninjachick81 I never said black people shouldn't be in KFC commercials. KFC has a history of representing blacks in stereotypical fashions all over the world. I'm not incredibly naive to believe no one who works there saw this coming. Corporations get hurt by bad representation of any branch and have to state dissociation publicly in emergencies to avoid damages. I'm sure the investors look through these things but KFC doesn't give a shit in america, china or even australia, so wtv moving on.
@WizPigTactics so what are you complaining about with this particular commercial then. Nobody is being represented in a stereotypical way. TYT claim the crowd is uncivilized but they are not... in fact they are pretty tame compared to a real cricket crowed. He shares food to make friends nothing to do with stereotypes, KFC sponsor the cricket, Australia was playing the West Indies there is nothing racist or stereotypical about this commercial.
and tonight The Young Turds will be presenting ignorant slander against Australians because they can't see past their own racist past and see that America is not the whole world, seriously how fricken dumb is she... NO AFRICAN AMERICANS... NOT all black people are AFRICAN AMERICAN... and not every country associates chicken with what ever crap you guys do. GET A LIFE STUPID IGNORANT BITCH
@BlueLeader747 because they are FUCKED UP... IMO it's racist to say just because they are black they can't be seen eating chicken.... NOTE: nobody even eats the chicken in the commercial, AND FOR FUCK SAKE its about a guy who accidentally sits in the opposing teams stand, the joke has nothing to do with the color of anyone's skin the joke is that the guy is sitting with the other team instead of his own. AMERICANS NEED TO GET OVER THEMSELVES!!!!!
If the niggers didn't eat so much chicken then you lot wouldn't have to get upset at videos of them eating there favorite food, just wait till you see the watermelon advertisement my company here in australia is working on, you guys will love it!
I'm not gonna say that every single Australian is racists because well I don't know every single person living in Australia but this ad is racist. It promotes a WORLDWIDE stereotype.
@InMyNightSky It promotes a stereotype applied by AMERICANS. Like you. You may think its racist but in actuality, its not. You just dont get it do you. ITS NOT RACIST.
Look guys you can defend the ad all you want but it's kind of obvious that it's pushing a stereotype. I mean you can say the same thing about that Chinese Obama ad. Anyways I find that a healthy approach to stereotypes as a black man is with humor. Too easy.
@WizPigTactics lol... you can defend your comment all you want but only America and Canada has this chicken stereotype, i know for a fact i've never heard of the stereotype before i first came on this webpage. The average Aussie has no idea about this stereotype. Hope you understand. Any other problems with this commercial you can tell me and i would gladly explain it :)
@Hem3fiction Obviously China has the stereotype too? I think KFC is more the one that should be held accountable. Individual KFC Firms don't know but I'm pretty sure KFC's investors who made the ad communicate internationally. You focus on self defense like as if Australians are at fault, Australians have 1% association with this matter. KFC does this all the time...
@WizPigTactics i understand but still you can't let American stereotypes change and interfere with Australian commercials, it just doesn't seem right.
@WizPigTactics - It's an ad about cricket not the secret agenda of the NWO. An Aus company employed an Aus agency who employs Aussies to make an ad about cricket between Aus and the Windies. 1%? SMH
These TYT guys are racist because Turk is a racist word in Australia, my mother is Turkish and I find you offensive!!!! If TYT think context means then they are racist for using the word Turk.... The ad is not racist, applying your own racist Stereotypes is however racist. Shame on you TYT.
I cannot even watch this bullshit without laughing my ass off at these stupid TYT idiots. A message to everyone: THE COMMERCIAL WAS NOT RACIST. TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE COMMERCIAL BEFORE YOU JUDGE IT.
Has anyone seen the Korean KFC Commercial. It's similar to this. A bunch of crazy black people, acting wild and then as soon as the KFC chicken comes out, they suddenly calm down. I always knew KFC was a racist company. Instead of attacking Australians, attack KFC. They make these type of commercials all the time, worldwide. They always use people of African Descent as the crazy ones who will do anything for chicken.
Americans view this commercial as racist. Australians do not. I'm African American so yea, I can see that terrible, sick stereotype in this ad. Does make me upset but then again if Australians don't see a problem with it then well there is nothing us Americans can do about it. Australia does a lot of stuff I disapprove of. Like the whole blackface thing. All I can say is that I am happy I do not live in Australia. Maybe the blacks in Australia have it more bad than us in America.
@keyki421 oh of course I mean, they can get interest-free home loans, cars, got the vote before American blacks did. If anything this is the pot calling the kettle back on the US' part
@keyki421 the people in the ad are not even African American so the stereotype is invalid!!! Its got nothing to do with chicken stereotypes or African Americans. They are West Indian, they are not behaving rowdy...they are supporting their cricket team and the ONLY reason the guy is uncomfortable is because he's in the other teams stand. He shares his KFC to make friends, KFC sponsor both teams and the cricket series that was being play hence it was a KFC cricket promotion.
@T43BU573r Like I said before, my opinion is that this commercial is racist. I don't like it and I think it is rude no matter if the people in this commercial are Australian or American. I even heard that KFC pulled this commercial in Australia because of the outrage. I seen another commercial just like this in Korea. It showed Africans as savages that will do anything for a piece of chicken. I"M FUCKING SICK OF IT. I might be American but I am a AFRICAN AMERICAN.
@keyki421 I don't see any savages in this commercial, I see happy people having fun enjoying a cricket match and supporting their team. This whole the are acting rowdy argument is bullshit, they are not acting rowdy they are celebrating.
@keyki421 it was pulled because of winging Americans you idiot. KFC AU bowed to American pressure... it ran for months without a single complaint, until some American douche picked it up on youtube and applied American sterotypes out of context. Do you see nay African Americans in the Ad... who cares if your black not all black people are African American you IDIOT. Australia is not racist but we idiotist's and don't want you here because your an fricken idiot.
@keyki421 - How many Americans can you see in this ad? Please do not move to Australia unless they say they have a shotage of idiots and need some more.
@bvwcad I do not want to go to Australia. I don't want to go to a place that supports racism. This commercial should of brought an uproar of people against it instead people are defending their racist ways. Why would I want to go to Australia? What is for me there? I always wanted to visit but this has really changed my way of thinking about Australia. Now everyone knows Australia's RACISM WORLDWIDE.
@keyki421 You a truly an idiot. Condemning an entire nation because of a FUCKING KFC COMMERCIAL. This happened like 2 years ago. No one gives a shit any more. You dont understand anything about this ad. You dont understand anything about West Indian supporters. You dont understand anything about anything. I really truly feel sorry for you.
@BlueLeader747 Your right. I don't understand or know how ignorant and racist you Australians are, but now I know. Australia is a racist country. They do things like this and they think it's funny. They do blackface and they think that is funny. I'm learning more about how racist Australians are every single day.
@keyki421 Well who said it was funny? I dont think its funny. And your calling an entire nation, every man, women, and child RACIST because of a KFC commercial. That is the saddest thing I have ever heard. And guess what? Calling me, my family and friends, and every one who lives in Australia RACISTS because of where we LIVE, is in in itself, very, very, RACIST.
@keyki421 your a fucking idiot. You apply racist American sterotypes to a tv commercial out of context. You are racist for seeing racism in the Ad. I don't even know what the fuck blackface is so get a fucking life and worry about your own countries racism issues.
@BlueLeader747 America is no better but at least people who are white would agree that this shit is racist and would stick up for me against racism and stupid stereotypes. I wonder who sticks up for the blacks in Australia or are they always treated like crap.
@keyki421 Don't attack Australians for this commercial, attack KFC. This company makes a bunch of commercials just like this in a bunch of countries. In theses commercials it's always the black people lusting after chicken. Blame KFC, not Australians.
@keyki421 How could you say he makes a good point? I agree with him but why do you? You clearly stated in your previous comments that everyone in Australia is racist and are to blame because of this. How could you say he makes a good point if it goes against every thing you said?
@keyki421 your the racist. Many people have explained the context of this commercial but you refuse to accept context and only see American racial stereotypes. Get a life the we don't care about skin color YOU DO!
@keyki421 And again, you refuse to answer any questions about anything and only state your own racist opinions. Its over for you. You can stop talking now. Your only making this worse for yourself. You have said nothing logical or evidential and are only blurting out shit now. You refuse to accept it, refuse to understand it, refuse to see anything except the American stereotypes YOU applied.
@keyki421 ... I am really sick of the word racist! This has been taken out of context by stupid political correctness. The ad is simple, there was a guy who was in the wrong crowd and wanted to get back to his own team.
@bvwcad If they hid it its' because they knew... and we're only talking about KFC here not world history. KFC uses stereotypes all the time but it's not that big of a deal, I'm just saying be aware. Didn't think people loved KFC to a point where it would be tied to their self worth.
@bvwcad If they hid it its' because they knew. Look we're only talking about KFC here not world history. KFC uses stereotypes all the time but it's not that big of a deal. Didn't think people loved KFC to a point where it would be tied to their self worth. This argument is about one side saying KFC knows what they are doing and the other is Australians defending that they aren't racist. We're not talking about the same thing. KFC's history isn't a country's history.
@WizPigTactics - If you think that playing an ad on national televison, at primetime during a major national sporting event is "hiding" something then you really are delusional.
@bvwcad I'm pretty sure I read up on it quite a bit more than you did. I just read the articles with an open mind. It's cool though I get your point I just think you're being naive and a angered over something trivial which in turn makes it so much more of an outrage.
@WizPigTactics - You've read so much but still seem to be unable to grasp the fact that there are no Americans portrayed in this ad. As you've studied it so much perhaps you could point them out to me? SMH
@bvwcad Every country in North america knows the stereotype, even the Carribeans as it was slave food. But it doesn't really matter... Even if west indies is located there it's not a Australian problem it's a KFC problem. Unless you live in the HQ of KFC then I don't understand your anger.
Don't worry even if KFC did this intentionally they won't get shut down, you'll still be able to eat in peace. No sane person really cares but they made a remark, no harm in doing so and being aware.
@WizPigTactics - Nearly every country on the planet knows of the stereotype. It's knowing who it applies to and why that seems to elude a lot of people. That's where an education comes in handy. There is no problem with KFC Australia's ad. There is a problem with letting idiots see it and then giving them access to a keyboard.
@bvwcad Well it applies to the west indies as well... but I'll say it again I personally give them a pass but I'm not going to act like KFC has a halo on their head. There's no way to do research on KFC ads (as a employee in charge of directing/producing/reviewing them) and not stumble upon the topic. This is because Fried Chicken is tied to slave food in history.
I really don't care how much you love the ad or KFC, my opinion will stand. We've got bigger problems than chicken.
@WizPigTactics - It does not apply to the Windies or the Aussies or anyone who isn't American. You state that you have read more than me on this but you cannot even Google the words "Fried chicken stereotype" to get over your ignorance. You obviously have an agenda about KFC ads but this is not one that fits that agenda. Get an education or don't, the choice is yours. If your opinion stands regardless of the facts then stay a bigot as well, the choice is yours.
@WizPigTactics - I suppose, in your reality, I own the internet and control all of the articles about this subject. Facts do get in the way of your preconceptions don't they? SMH
@WizPigTactics KFC in Australia hasn't ever pushed any stereotypes (i don't know what they do in other places), the campaign was run by Aussies who didn't know or think about American view points, it really wasn't meant to be shown in the states hence they wouldn't have researched it. Yep there are bigger problems then chicken and lets face it KFC is nasty (tasty but nasty) you always regret eating it later.
@WizPigTactics if you got bigger problems than chicken, why are you telling us about it? Cos I never knew about it until i went on these youtube videos.
@WizPigTactics - From the same person who thinks playing an ad on primetime TV over and over again is "hiding" it. Didn't you also think that Windies had the same stereotypes as Ameicans just because they are in the Caribbean? And the entire interent is owned and controlled by me just to make you look stupid. You're doing a great job all on your own. Your reality doesn't have any context does it?
@WizPigTactics well if it is my problem why did you make it your problem in the first place?
and pretty sure you were saying something like all countries should adopt American beliefs and their racist topics just as long as they have KFC, which this opinion is high in stupidity. It is clear this is what you were implying. And i just told you not to tell us about American beliefs.... how was i out of context?
@keyki421 Don't attack Australians for this commercial, attack KFC. This company makes a bunch of commercials just like this in a bunch of countries. In theses commercials it's always the black people lusting after chicken. Blame KFC, not Australians.
@keyki421 Yeah those stupid stereotypes your talking about, are the ones YOU applied. No one in Australia outraged over this ad because we understand it as the perfectly not racist ad it is. It wasnt until some stupid american who doesnt even get nore play cricket, saw it and decided it was "racist". You need to learn to understand other cultures and not judge them because their different to you! Im pretty sure thats called IGNORANCE. And I stick up for the black people in Australia.
@keyki421 The Government heavily supports the blacks in Australia, but don't call them blacks, call them Aborigines or Indigenous people please. No one uses the word black in Australia.
This stupid ass stereotype that black people like chicken is just fucking ridiculous. I fucking hate chicken. I wish I was in this ad. I would of threw the box of chicken at him. See how he likes it.
@NotMyBirthday - This stupid ass 'American' stereotype that black people chicken is ridiculous. How many Americans do you see portrayed in the ad? If you had thrown the chicken over the guy in the ad it would highlight what an idoit you are.
This ad is racist. Australia, shame on you, and shame on you for standing up for this racist piece of crap. Cross off Australia on the places I want to visit.
@NotMyBirthday good we don't want you.. this ad has nothing to do with American stereotypes of black people and chicken. No Americans in this ad they are Windies and the ad was about cricket.
@NotMyBirthday good we don't want you.. this ad has nothing to do with American stereotypes of black people and chicken. No Americans in this ad they are Windies and the ad was about cricket.
@NotMyBirthday good we don't want you.. this ad has nothing to do with American stereotypes of black people and chicken. No Americans in this ad they are Windies and the ad was about cricket.
@NotMyBirthday You don't know what this ad is portraying. It's not racist at all. An American would never see this in it's proper context. We wouldn't want you to visit anyway.
@NotMyBirthday Look at my comment on page 5. It explains it all. You're just assuming it's racist. The Blacks loving chicken stereotype doesn't apply in Australia. I know because I live there. A lot of Americans have trouble differentiating other cultures from their own. It's called ignorance.
@NotMyBirthday idiot nobody approves of racist behavior, your the one who is seeing racism in the add because you see black people eating friend chicken. The stereotype does not exist here nor does it apply as the people in the ad are West Indian and they are not offended.
@NotMyBirthday What a fuck head you are. What is so racist about? Do you even understand anything in it. The idea is not a white guy sitting in a crowd full of savage black people. The idea is an Australian supporter sitting in a crowd of west indian supporters. And west indian supporters jump up and down at cricket games because thats how they support. You cant deny any of this.
lol the uploaders of this video are now supporting Ron Paul, what a buch of hypocritic fucks.

it's because the cricket was in South Africa and alot of the audience were AFRICAN if it was in India it would have been Indians.
Arcanage 3 days ago
@Arcanage actually it was the west indies but same point... if we were playing India they would have been Indian, if we were playing England they would have been Pom's the yanks def wouldn't have found it offensive if it was England and probably wouldn't have batted an eye lid if it was India. They are just too over sensitive when it comes to anything that can be seen as racist against black people... even when there is no racism there.

And the extant "'fame'' of the African person is quite meaningless to Australians to begin with because our knowledge, and experience of so-called black people was for many decades restricted mostly to the indigineous Aborigines. The issues in Western Europe, Britain and America were and still are a long way away.
yortko1 3 days ago
Well now, here we go. Many of you Negroes are masochistic and need this type of shit which is why they'll never give it up and understand that it is a dead issue in Australia. By enabling it to come into existence here gives them there own superior moral authority. Well it's either that or they're just plain stupid.

Why did Australians not want Americans to see this ad? You guys seem to be so upset that it was even leaked online. You knew this shit was racist and you didn't want anyone from another country to see it.
InMyNightSky 4 days ago
@InMyNightSky - Aussies hid it from the world by playing it over and over again on primetime TV. They didn't know that some idiots would watch a guy with an Aussie accent wearing an Aussie cricket shirt at a cricket match among some Jamaican flag and Windies cricket shirt wearing, calypso music playing Windies cricket fans and think, wow this must be an ad about Americans!!!
bvwcad 4 days ago

BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
I think the add's racist, but I don't think it was intended to be. Yes, the creators stepped over a line, but I don't know that it was deliberate. I realise this may sound naive, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here.
BrookeJadeX 5 days ago
@BrookeJadeX not racist... nothing to do with race dude. Its about a guy who sits with the wrong team. Nobody is rowdy/uncivilized like TYT suggest, they are taking things too far.
P3B34r 5 days ago
@P3B34r Yeah that was the other side of what I was thinking. I'd actually never even thought of it as being racist until I saw this video and when I did it made me wonder.
BrookeJadeX 5 days ago
@BrookeJadeX yeah its the media... bias sensationalist reporting! Typical its just trying to cause a stir to get viewers.
P3B34r 5 days ago
@P3B34r every thing is racist these days... Apparently its now racist to wave the Aussie flag or have it on your car or something on Australia day according to an ACA report earlier tonight. I give up this planet is full of too many idiots. Maybe I should just stop watching the news and crap like this on Youtube.
P3B34r 5 days ago
@P3B34r That's actually why I was looking up racism videos; to see if I could find anything on the Australian flag issue. The whole thing has gone too far. It's like 'Bah Bah Black Sheep' being changed to 'Bah Bah Rainbow Sheep'. I mean how can people take themselves seriously knowing how out of hand this has gotten?
BrookeJadeX 5 days ago
@BrookeJadeX /watch?v=8YXw-aLev5I there's one on it... stupidest thing I've ever heard, mates of mine who are Leb and fly both flags... representing where they came from and who they are now. What's that song from the old Qantas ad... I am, you are, we are Australian where they have all the different ethnic groups... That's my Australia! Who cares about the bogans, their just losers without jobs and do nothing anyway.
P3B34r 5 days ago
@P3B34r yeah that's so true. I saw that video when it was on the news and I understand where people are coming from with it, I don't know that that's how it was supposed to be viewed. I mean channel 9 were just reporting on a survey and the big lead up to Australia day because they clearly have nothing else worth talking about.
I like that song, though. It makes so much sense and it's true for the most part. There's just a few people that ruin it for everyone else.

@BrookeJadeX - American stereotypes do not apply to Aussies or Windies. Listen more in history and geography classes.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad Ok first off I'd appreciate it if you didn't attack me by implying that I'm incompetent. And yes, by stating that I don't listen in class and don't know what I'm talking about you ARE attacking me. Secondly I never said that they do.
BrookeJadeX 4 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - If they don't then why do you think the ad is racist? You do need to listen more in history and geography classes.
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad The ad plays on an international stereotype of Jamaicans, not African Americans and if you'd read the conversation between P3B34r and myself then you would realise that I see the other side in this argument as well as the racist side. It's all about how you look at it.
So please, make sure you know what you're talking about before you comment. I have no interest in wasting my time with people who clearly don't understand the situation they're commenting on before they make a remark.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - There is no racist side. There are the facts and then there's ignorance.
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad As I said before: I'm not interested in wasting my time on someone who I now realise is hypocritical. You can talk about ignorance all you want, but you clearly haven't got a clue.
As I also said before: read the conversation before commenting. The whole issue depends on where in the world you're from and the types of racism you've grown up with and learnt about. Pay attention.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - The issue is that this ad is not racist. Where you come from does not make this ad racist. Ignorance is the only thing that can make this ad racist.
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad Only it does and that's the thing that you're not understanding. Americans, for example, are brought up learning all about black slavery and the civil war. Australians, however, learn about the stolen generation. To an American watching, this the Ad may seem racist because of the reasons listed in the video. Not only that, but they're unlikely to understand the reference to Australian cricket and the way in which the people featured are behaving.
Now run along. You're getting annoying.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - How many Americans would this American see in the ad? Would they be ignorant of the facts if they did see any? SMH
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad Need I point out that I'm not disagreeing with your statement that this ad is not racist? P3B34r convinced me of that. As I've said several times now, read the conversation before commenting. Your ignorance is becoming pathetic.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - You posted "I see the other side in this argument as well as the racist side." Which racist side were you talking about? The one that you now say doesn't exist? Perhaps you need to read your posts again?
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad And that was true for the first part, but then I realised how cultural differences can affect people's opinions and decided to ignore the video's reasons, which were the opinions of people who probably grew up in america judging by their accents and have a very American based view on the issue. Thus my point before about where you grow up.
Now if you've finally figured out that I'm not arguing that it's racist you can stop messaging me and get on with your life.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - If some people are so ignorant they see Americans in this ad that has nothing to do with cultural differences and nothing to do with where they grew up. It has everything to do with them just being idiots. How many clues do you need in a 20-sec video to understand there are no Americans portrayed? SMH
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad I never said that there are Americans in the ad. I said that some people will watch it with an American point of view and see it differently to others.
Now I'm curious, what exactly is your point in all of this? Because it seems to me that your arguments have become desperate and irrelevant and it's leaving me feeling pretty exasperated.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - If there are no Americans in the ad why did you think it was racist in the first place? SMH
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad Because I understood where the two people talking about it were coming from. Do you get it now or do I have to re-explain like I've been doing for almost the entirety of this conversation?
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - So when you posted "I think the add's racist" you thought the ad was racist. You say you knew there were no Americans in the ad, so why did you think it was racist? You really need to read through your posts again to see how stupid you look.
bvwcad 3 days ago
@bvwcad Clearly you do need special attention.
BrookeJadeX 3 days ago

BrookeJadeX 3 days ago
@BrookeJadeX - You want to present two sides to this ad as if they both have merit. Idiots see this ad as racist. It's not cultural, it's not geographical, it's just plain old ignorance.
bvwcad 2 days ago
@bvwcad Ahahaha! Would this be a bad time to tell you I've been trolling for this conversation? I'm Australian. I know what the ad's about and I know it's not racist. Looks it's been fun, but you really need to chill out.

ninjachick81 5 days ago
Not all Australians are racist but the ones who defend this ad are.
InMyNightSky 6 days ago
The ad is racist but Australians are mad because we are calling them out on it. This KFC ad is racist and is fucking stupid. Who the hell gives someone chicken in order for them to calm down? If they would have used white people instead of black people, the ad would still be fucking stupid but instead they showed a scared white guy surrounded by a bunch of black people dancing and having fun. OMG, the white guy is so uncomfortable. Give the black people chicken to calm their asses down.
InMyNightSky 6 days ago
@InMyNightSky - People with a functioning brain are just pointing out how ignorant you are. They're not mad, they just can't understand how stupid some people are. How many American's do you see in this ad?
bvwcad 5 days ago
@bvwcad The stereotype is not just used in america by KFC. This is true when you're shown in another foreign KFC ad that the change Obama believes in is that instead of chicken he's going to sell fish... but this argument is already resolved and there was a consensus. KFC should know better especially since every branch represents their overall image. Everyone complaining thinks this is about Aussies being racist, well it isn't...
WizPigTactics 5 days ago
@WizPigTactics - It's an American stereotype about Americans. Don't take my word for it, just Google it. This issue is not about Aussies being racist it's about idiots wanting everyone else to work at their level.
bvwcad 5 days ago
@bvwcad then why was the stereotype used for marketing in china?
WizPigTactics 5 days ago
@bvwcad I'm just saying KFC has done this abroad more than once.
WizPigTactics 5 days ago
@WizPigTactics - You are correct, they have shown ads that sponsor cricket hundreds of times.
bvwcad 5 days ago
@WizPigTactics isn't it a bit over the top to say black people can not be in KFC commercials, that's racist in itself, its like saying no black people can't eat KFC. Secondly as already stated the commercial is about KFC sponsoring the cricket and promotion that coincided with the cricket. The joke has nothing to do with American sterotypes but im just repeating myself now :S
ninjachick81 5 days ago
@ninjachick81 never said black people can't be in KFC commercials.
And it's incredibly naive that a company would be oblivious in their marketing. Especially one with such a history, I'm saying they are aware and they made the wrong move. I myself am not offended, but to say that it doesn't push the stereotype while looking at KFC's ad history is incredibly hard to swallow. It inevitably pushes the stereotype worldwide with the age of the internet anyways.
WizPigTactics 5 days ago
@WizPigTactics - This ad does not change the social history of cultures around the world. It show's cricket fans at a cricket match. An event that was actually taking place at the time and KFC were sponsoring. Downgrading everyones intelligence to the level of people who actually see Americans in this ad is not the best policy.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@ninjachick81 I never said black people shouldn't be in KFC commercials. KFC has a history of representing blacks in stereotypical fashions all over the world. I'm not incredibly naive to believe no one who works there saw this coming. Corporations get hurt by bad representation of any branch and have to state dissociation publicly in emergencies to avoid damages. I'm sure the investors look through these things but KFC doesn't give a shit in america, china or even australia, so wtv moving on.
WizPigTactics 5 days ago
@WizPigTactics so what are you complaining about with this particular commercial then. Nobody is being represented in a stereotypical way. TYT claim the crowd is uncivilized but they are not... in fact they are pretty tame compared to a real cricket crowed. He shares food to make friends nothing to do with stereotypes, KFC sponsor the cricket, Australia was playing the West Indies there is nothing racist or stereotypical about this commercial.

This argument is about one side saying KFC knows what they are doing and the other is Australians defending that they aren't racist. We're not talking about the same thing. KFC's history isn't a country's history.

@WizPigTactics - If you think that playing an ad on national televison, at primetime during a major national sporting event is "hiding" something then you really are delusional.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad I just read the articles =/
WizPigTactics 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics - Read away, it might help with your confusion.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad I'm pretty sure I read up on it quite a bit more than you did. I just read the articles with an open mind. It's cool though I get your point I just think you're being naive and a angered over something trivial which in turn makes it so much more of an outrage.
Especially on the fact that KFC =/= Australia
WizPigTactics 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics - You've read so much but still seem to be unable to grasp the fact that there are no Americans portrayed in this ad. As you've studied it so much perhaps you could point them out to me? SMH
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad Every country in North america knows the stereotype, even the Carribeans as it was slave food. But it doesn't really matter... Even if west indies is located there it's not a Australian problem it's a KFC problem. Unless you live in the HQ of KFC then I don't understand your anger.
Don't worry even if KFC did this intentionally they won't get shut down, you'll still be able to eat in peace. No sane person really cares but they made a remark, no harm in doing so and being aware.
WizPigTactics 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics - Nearly every country on the planet knows of the stereotype. It's knowing who it applies to and why that seems to elude a lot of people. That's where an education comes in handy. There is no problem with KFC Australia's ad. There is a problem with letting idiots see it and then giving them access to a keyboard.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad Well it applies to the west indies as well... but I'll say it again I personally give them a pass but I'm not going to act like KFC has a halo on their head. There's no way to do research on KFC ads (as a employee in charge of directing/producing/reviewing them) and not stumble upon the topic. This is because Fried Chicken is tied to slave food in history.
I really don't care how much you love the ad or KFC, my opinion will stand. We've got bigger problems than chicken.
WizPigTactics 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics - It does not apply to the Windies or the Aussies or anyone who isn't American. You state that you have read more than me on this but you cannot even Google the words "Fried chicken stereotype" to get over your ignorance. You obviously have an agenda about KFC ads but this is not one that fits that agenda. Get an education or don't, the choice is yours. If your opinion stands regardless of the facts then stay a bigot as well, the choice is yours.
bvwcad 4 days ago
@bvwcad Oh so all those other countries are ignored because they aren't part of the US... Yes I have an agenda to take down KFC. You're delusional...
Big whoop you read a wiki page, I guess you're a big kid now.
Well I'm done. It's not like you're open for discussion anyways.
WizPigTactics 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics - I suppose, in your reality, I own the internet and control all of the articles about this subject. Facts do get in the way of your preconceptions don't they? SMH
bvwcad 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics KFC in Australia hasn't ever pushed any stereotypes (i don't know what they do in other places), the campaign was run by Aussies who didn't know or think about American view points, it really wasn't meant to be shown in the states hence they wouldn't have researched it. Yep there are bigger problems then chicken and lets face it KFC is nasty (tasty but nasty) you always regret eating it later.
ninjachick81 4 days ago
@WizPigTactics if you got bigger problems than chicken, why are you telling us about it? Cos I never knew about it until i went on these youtube videos.

@WizPigTactics and do you have a problem with it?

@Hem3fiction technically it's your problem... you're just out of context because everything was addressed.

@WizPigTactics - You're out of context with reality.
bvwcad 2 days ago
@bvwcad *pat on the head* The irony of that statement... Good luck with yourself there kiddo.
WizPigTactics 2 days ago
@WizPigTactics - From the same person who thinks playing an ad on primetime TV over and over again is "hiding" it. Didn't you also think that Windies had the same stereotypes as Ameicans just because they are in the Caribbean? And the entire interent is owned and controlled by me just to make you look stupid. You're doing a great job all on your own. Your reality doesn't have any context does it?
bvwcad 2 days ago

IAmLikeWhatTheHell 1 week ago
@keyki421 Yeah those stupid stereotypes your talking about, are the ones YOU applied. No one in Australia outraged over this ad because we understand it as the perfectly not racist ad it is. It wasnt until some stupid american who doesnt even get nore play cricket, saw it and decided it was "racist". You need to learn to understand other cultures and not judge them because their different to you! Im pretty sure thats called IGNORANCE. And I stick up for the black people in Australia.
BlueLeader747 1 week ago
@keyki421 The Government heavily supports the blacks in Australia, but don't call them blacks, call them Aborigines or Indigenous people please. No one uses the word black in Australia.
Hem3fiction 1 week ago
@keyki421 - People who are stupid would agree this ad is racist.

@keyki421 - They don't want ignorant bigots to visit so it's a win win. Get an education.

This stupid ass stereotype that black people like chicken is just fucking ridiculous. I fucking hate chicken. I wish I was in this ad. I would of threw the box of chicken at him. See how he likes it.
NotMyBirthday 1 week ago

@NotMyBirthday You don't know what this ad is portraying. It's not racist at all. An American would never see this in it's proper context. We wouldn't want you to visit anyway.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 week ago
@13eyeofthebeholder Good, because I don't want to go to a country that approves of this racist behavior.
NotMyBirthday 1 week ago
@NotMyBirthday Look at my comment on page 5. It explains it all. You're just assuming it's racist. The Blacks loving chicken stereotype doesn't apply in Australia. I know because I live there. A lot of Americans have trouble differentiating other cultures from their own. It's called ignorance.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 week ago
@NotMyBirthday idiot nobody approves of racist behavior, your the one who is seeing racism in the add because you see black people eating friend chicken. The stereotype does not exist here nor does it apply as the people in the ad are West Indian and they are not offended.
78just1n 1 week ago
@NotMyBirthday - It isn't racist. Shame on you for your ignorance. Australia will be happy that at least one idiot is going to stay away.
bvwcad 1 week ago
@bvwcad Yes, this ad is racist and the people who support this are also racist.
NotMyBirthday 1 week ago
@NotMyBirthday What a fuck head you are. What is so racist about? Do you even understand anything in it. The idea is not a white guy sitting in a crowd full of savage black people. The idea is an Australian supporter sitting in a crowd of west indian supporters. And west indian supporters jump up and down at cricket games because thats how they support. You cant deny any of this.
