Oh, I´ve got the VHS since it released in 1985, but it´s a few years ago when I had got my last VCR for playing the video. So today I´ve seen for my first time, that Martin is playing a Yamaha DX7 I, the same model I´m playing since 1991.
Thanks for putting good audio together with this video. I loved OMD in the 80s. All the pop bands were using synths, but none as intelligently as OMD. It's nice to know they've finally released a new album (in 2010), their first since 1996. My friends who loved them with me were all so beautiful in the 80s. OMD's songs could have been written about them. (Joan of Arc... "light bulb.")
nice to hear this band had a US following, sounds about right about Andy McCluskey running out into the audience, his comeback gig in Liverpool, his dancing leaves alot to be desired :-O brill music of its time though.
Got to see OMD open for the Thompson Twins in Harrisonburd, VA 12/5/85. Amazing show! Close enough to read the back panel of Paul's Emulator II! Incredible band!
@McXip I saw them open for the Thompson Twins, too--in JAX, FL. -probably the same year. Couldn't remember if I saw them open for TT or Howard Jones. Thanks for mentioning it in your post...I'm getting old LOL!
Best song on this album for sure, and probably their last best really good song, as were some of the others on this album. "88 Seconds in Greenborough" and "La Femme Accident" Unfortunately went downhill from here. One of the greatests bands out of the 80's Top 5!
OMD played 3 shows in the SF Bay Area back in the day. Opening for the Thompson Twins and then 2 headlining shows at the Warfield. Saw them all 3 times. This was the encore. Loved it!!
I saw OMD in Dallas Texas back in 1986. They were touring with the Thompson Twins as a front group. I rushed out to buy their Crush "cassette" and really enjoyed it too. So many great songs on this album, So in love, 88 seconds, Women III and more.
I saw them in 1986 in Portland on the same tour! At the time I didn't know who OMD was. Did Andy McCluskey jump off stage and go running through the audience in Dallas?
The trash is in the garbage can the mystery of wonderland !! epic lyrics Love this song played it over and over when I first got the album on vinyl OMD COOL
I don't know...there was always something about this album (especially this song) that was so melancholy. Like the sound of a warped pyschic imprint of a forgotten song from the 1950's. I get a similar feeling from Donald Fagen's "Walk Between Raindrops".
I know what you mean. White picket fence, sipping martinis while lounged out on the front lawn. Cateye sunglasses and beehive hairdoos. I get the same impression when I listen to this song. Wish I could find this cd because I wore out my tape.
I graduated in 87. It seemed to all take a turn after that. grunge came in, techno....wasnt the same as when we all rolled up our pantlegs tight and wore a bgroche on the buttonup shirt etc.

Crush The Movie??? I NEED THIS!! Siiick tune and album. This was always one of the strongest cuts on that album, along with 88 Seconds.
