Such a fantastic track by George. A couple of bookies were giving odds at 14/1 for Xmas No.1 at some stage but it's fallen away. It probably won't chart now but what a fab wee tune. Always makes you smile. I think it was Georges' last single before he died at the ridculously early age of 56! Good on you George, you still make a lot of people smile!! :-)

What this needs is for a top DJ to take it up and play it every day. l'm mindful of the fact that some years ago Terry Wogan did exactly that with The Floral Dance and took it into the top ten.Perhaps someone out there has the contacts necessary to get the media interested enough to make that happen again with this song. Doesn't it say something about the music of today when we turn to artists and songs of sixty years ago when we need cheering up,and god knows,we need them as much today as we ever did. l doubt there are any songs today that can lift the spirits like these do. But unlike today's offerings,that's what they were intended to do.They were a product of tough times and we still need that feel good factor today. Once again George Formby comes to the rescue and brings a smile to me! This once great nation when we had loads of enthusiasm such as George had and innuendo instead of the blatant foul mouthed types around now. With George there was plenty of thought and mystery as with all comedians and singers of the era.

i,m 36 and was introduced to george`s work by my grandfather nearly 30 years ago and have been a fan ever since a true cheeky chappie in a more refined era he was a legend for his wartime stuff so i agree with sandP19 vote it for xmas no1 bout time simon cowells media monopolizing rubbish was put out to pasture and something meaningfull put in it`s place "happy go lucky me"

He had quite a lot of hits, I really thought that he wrote this but he didn't, His brother until he died lived in the Stechford area of Birmingham according to the rumor in a house originally bought by George for his mum, It was also rumored that it was his brother who actually wrote Georges famous songs and sold them to George, it was also said that Georges brother was also a very capable Uke player, Of course these as I said were rumors that I heard 41 years ago, This track is my FAVOURITE.

Happy Go Lucky Me the best of george formby is on itunes and the cost of the track is 59p a bargain to have a great x-mas song as number one and to keep that drivel from cowell off the top. If it gets to number one we can finally shout HE HE HE TURNED OUT NICE AGAIN!!!!!

its so funny that Sainsburys use the back drop of a panto for the add, whats not so funny is the fact that the managers were i worked for sainsburys were a bunch of panto caricters all year round only problem with that was they were all playing the wicked witch. have to say damed fine tune while im at it.

I have heard people whistling this around town!!!. I bet we will never get to hear this on the radio, it would make a nice change from One Dimension, Matt Cardle (who) etc etc. George had more talent in his plectrum (if he ever used one) Britain HAD talent.
