In other news, Kim Yu Na did a great program and deserved the gold medal. I agree with the comment that Rachel Flatt is not an attractive skater. Sasha is the loveliest skater I have ever laid eyes on. I was pulling for her comeback and was saddened like everyone else by her fourth place finish. I still love her. I think she is a better skater than the much beloved Michelle Kwan though not as decorated.
Flatt doesn't have much of the chance to skate against Yu Na Kim. Flatt is not an attractive figure skater but both Yu Na Kim and Sasha are. Unfortunately, with Flatt in the olympic game instead of Sasha the US isn't going to see any American woman winning the gold medal in figure skating. This is what Sasha has said, and she is absolutely correct. Mirai might have a better chance, but Yu Na Kim, is much older than Mirai, and has more experiences under her belt.

That performance should not have shattered a world record; scores were inflated. I am utterly disgusted that Mao completed THREE triple axels in total, something that has never been done before, and lost by like 30 points. Ew.

I'm not 100% sure if she even said that because most people did so I can't remember exactly. :P She predicted Yuna to come out top anyway, so it's not like she has anything against her. But yeah.

Not to mention the overall artistry and performance. Mao asada had only 1.5 point worth of more tech content than Yuna Kim in the freeskate (if she skated clean) and she botched two triple jumps. If you do 2 3As and leave out 3-3, 2-3, 3lutz, and 3sal you kinda give back the points you get from 3A and that's what she did (+the mistakes).
@star915 Her triple triple looked more than a quarter turn. The judges were not being consistent at all. Her artistry looked much better than Yu-Na's, her spins and spirals were better. Her scores were just so unbelievably inflated. Not that surprised considering the judges needed her as a marketing tool! She was good enough to win, definitely, but I doubt anyone can ever break that record anymore. It's like it was a joke, the judges were overmarking everyone, Yu-Na's was the most inflated.
@LittleMisss15x I understand that you love spins and spirals given that you are a Sasha fan and I too think Sasha has the most amazing spins and spirals, but those two elements are fairly insignificant in terms of scores. Also, I've rarely heard anyone saying Mao's Bells of Moscow was more artistic than Yuna's Gershwin. It is a matter of personal taste I guess but sometimes it is just so obvious. Also Mao's weird sitspin and comb spin with sloppy edge change doesn't really scream quality to me.

If she nailed her jumps she would be unstoppable. She is an incredible dancer with amazing flexibility. She is the most beautiful on ice. I adore Michelle Kwan, however, in regards to beauty and grace on ice. I personally feel she is inferior to Sasha.
My aunt and I met her while shopping at St John's. She was waiting for her mom. My Aunt and I got her autograph. She was so approachable, very very nice girl. So pretty too she was not wearing makeup but still looked gorgeous.
As a long time fan, i would say, has anyone ever told her to increase her weight a little bit and build some "reliable" muscles on her legs? she has the most beautiful lines but for staking i think she also needs some gears for the landing. After so many years, i become confused and scared.
I'm sure PLENTY of people have told her..but she is the skater and she knows her own body. It's not like she trains alone..she has coaches and doctors, etc. Plus, a majority of her falls on jumps have been because of nerves. She seemed to have gained a lot of muscle this year at Nats :]
