well it is true, the evo does have a small displacement motor, and the stock turbo is tiny, but can still whoop some ass when tuned to 30+psi even if its way out of the turbos efficiency range. My buddy has a full bolt-on Evo8 making 376hp/395tq on the stock turbo pushing 30psi on E85.

But the supra does in fact have a large single turbo.

@roseking900 because rally racing/driving is VERY punishing on the chassis, and the proper suspension and tires for such a punishing event is stupid expensive. we're talking about $8k+ for suspension and you'll need dirt tires which arent cheap either and are comparable in price to some high end UHP street tires.

figure if you actually do regularly rally race, the suspension will need to be rebuilt or replaced, as well as the chassis needs a good going over.

Put in a walbro fuel pump, better exhaust, better coil sparks and so on... And then u will get out pretty much everything from the stock turbo. (there will still be a little more to get out of it, but pretty much all)

Aside from the fact that drag cars aren't as reliant on downforce as other forms of can be those fins on an evo don't help with down force. It's an air splitter. It makes the air flow more evenly over the wing thus reducing turbulence and makes for a smoother ride at high speeds. But the wing and body itself take care of downforce.

@bonds911 2step is pretty much launch control/anti-lag. When you 2 step you build boost and make power without moving the car. Stock Evos would make 8psi I make 16psi. Pretty much all you do is press the clutch down and floor the gas pedal. It goes to a certain rpm and stays there in my situation 5.5k and when you launch the car you launch it with a lot more power. That could also cause drivetrain problems if you just dump the clutch

everyone commenting just assumes everyone is stock... people do crazy things to cars making them incredible. Toyota Supras are known to be incredibly impressive and easily pull of 800whp (I use the term "easily" lightly)

evos are also known to pull huge numbers, and their AWD capabilities give them a huuuge advantage in a quarter mile strip right off the gun.
