... I'm in piano, but not by choice. Sure, its good and all, but its not... it.. i don't know how to put it, but nothing reaches out to me like the violin does. its like, whenever i hear a violin, its pulling notes straight from my heart. i can face the audience with the violin, let them see my emotion, but with the piano, my face is always hidden, and i HAVE no emotion when i play it. Music is supposed to be free, and the violin is the absolute symbol of that freedom. Piano just isn't for me.
@blowup1230 wow, i'm a former violinist and i often feel outcast by pianos because almost all the song covers on youtube are done by pianist but rarely violinist, you've made me feel much better :D
ahh when the first time in a very long time i clicked this video a moment ago, i was completely overwhelmed by the beauty and undescribing emotional charge, suprised by awe
Waah ~isn't this song in Miyazaki's movie "Porco Rosso" (Crimson Pig)? I just finished watching it & I remember loving this song b/c they always played it as Marco (Porco Rosso) & Gina's theme!!~ ♥
@sandythtwi i know right..?? i play the piano too but deffinitely when you're trying to sound passionate and heartbrokenly sad..violin takes it to the top..it's awesome..!!
@MuKo18 Actually it's from the movie Futari (Chizuko's Younger Sister) although it has a strong resemblance to Marco and Gina's theme from Porco Rosso.
They all play so beautifully.... from the violin, to the piano.... Look at those movements, and those hands... I think there's something in my eye. Damnit.
it's sounds a lot like howl's moving castle, but the melody is slightly different. it's still such a beautiful piece. listening to it at 10:50 while doing homework is quite calming =)
@onice331 OH MY GOD Im listening to this at 10:50 doing homeowork too! One month later haha. wow that's kind of interesting. (sorry this is my brother's account sorry troy) but yeah you're definitely right, this is very calming. It melts my stress away so i can appreciate the raw emotion of this beautiful piece.
even though i play the piano and love it i still think that the violin is the only instrument that can sound the most emotional and passionate. its like its somehow speaking for a sad heart.
Its like listening to a tale of two lovers who never met each other for years, and lamenting the missing moment of their lives, and in the end died at the same time out of grief to meet each other in the other side instead...
I believe this song is composed by Joe Hisaishi for Hayao Miyazaki's Japanese Animation Movie Porco Rosso,帰らざる日々 the days of no return .. , every one of Hayao Miyazaki's animation and Joe Hisaishi's composition is like a different world, so beautiful and touching...
@ew7815 wrong. this is from the film "Futari" (1991) directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi. It's very close to Poroco Rosso's theme, but it's not. Hisaishi is just self plagiarizing.

its very beautiful... T_T . It seems to stop time it self, or like entering a room full of pople but, making eye contact with that one familiar face out of a crowd.. her eyes are the only thing you seee and you make your way across this hall, she slowly fades away... so powerful.. good job on this
@xxXwazzaXxx Normally when people make a comment like yours, I feel like they're over-exaggerating . . . but in this case, I really don't get how someone could dislike this . . . and dislike it enough to give a THUMBS DOWN!?!
It's just beautiful music . . . what is there to hate?
Joe Hisaishi is an utter genius and you played this piece perfectly with all the grace and passion enough to bring someone to tears. You wouldn't believe how much I've listened to this performance over and over again. You all just completely blew me away.

Now, it has been 2 years since i first listened to this piece, and it still gives me the same feelings as before.
yeah.. actually i thought that they sounds similar too.
but i researched and found out that "The Song From The Secret Garden" the album was released in 1996 when this song was used in the movie "Porco Rosso" which was released in 1992.
So I think it's right to think that secret garden copied it cuz it's too similar
yea! i saw it too . . that's why it sounds familiar but i definitely like it! nice rendition though! . . i hope someone could give the sheetmusic for this duet!! . . cheers to the two violinist!
It's a song from "Futari"(1991) by Nobuhiko Obayashi. "Futari" is one of "Onomichi triology" by the same director. It's quite a good movie, i recommend.
