I can review this novel endlessly. Fellini-genius. Camera, music, actors and mise en scene everything professionally and flawlessly. Movie of all time.
About twenty years ago or so I was channeling surfing and happened upon this film. I missed the beginning but I knew immediately it was Fellini from the music and the images. It would be be until a couple decades before I would see the film in its entirity along with the other two films. The Fellinin segment stands out as the best. I was happily surprised when I found the soundtrack for Toby Dammit on Itunes. Another great pairing between Fellini and Nino Rota. The dudbbing version is better.
Not a big felini fan. But this is something special. I was totally blown away when I saw this the first time. Reminds me a bit of Blow Up by Antonioni.... not as far as plot but, themes and style. And the lead actors are remarkably similar. I think this was before Blow Up though.... definitely around the same time.
Look how graceful the camera moves, POV shots are excellent, beautiful composition and framing. Fellini was a master director. He is second to none, hands down the greatest director to ever touch a camera.
On December 24,2006 at 8 o'clock in the morning, a young 14 year old boy by the name of Scott Jackson was found dead.Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his emails to see if she could figure out what happened.Turns out he was still signed into myspace. She found he had gone to sleep after he read and didn't repost a chain letter.if you don't repost this to 6 videos a girl with no face will kill you tonight. sorry don't wanna die
When I first heard about this film I almost couldn't believe such beautiful thing like this could possibly exist. Definitely one of my top ten. I loved all three shorts but I agree with everyone who say's Toby Dammit was the best. It's moving art, like watching a painting come to life.
Fellini at his best, visionary creativity - there are more ideas in this 43min episode than in all the Hollywood movies made in the last years - great Terence Stamp -
"Make it snappy" "humiliation" "take your carcass home" lmao
Really you have to see this from the very beginning of the episode. Captures the feeling of being totally wasted and yet having to be social at the same time. I love Fellini!
You are aware that Federico Fellini was (this is what I know) drinking and on drugs when he did this part and it carried over to his next movie "Satyricon".
The scene with the paparazzi at the beginning of the film was great, now they're replaced with Fellini freaks accosting poor Toby. Thanks for the clip!
This is my favorite Fillini movie! Whay they don't release the original english version rather than the french dub is beyond me. Terrance Stamp speaking french just isn't right! Please upload more! maybe the Ferrari scenes??
this segment is the natural continuation of the film 8 & 1/2
(however, the point of view here is from the actor side ...)

The band (at 1:12) is The Motowns, a band from Liverpool that had a career in Italy in the late 60's (see videos of them on YouTube)

Brilliant film, wonderful piece of art.

Also, it is quite possibly Nino Rota's best score ever. And Terence Stamp is charming as always. He's still beautiful underneath all that makeup.

Fellini's "episode" in this film is the best. The other two, one by Roger Vadim and one by Louis Malle, are good, but nowhere near Fellini's.

Gran FELLINI, y la música ha de ser del gran compositor NINO ROTA. Siempre mi respetos.Únicos.

jr red. I think it is a copper-colored Jag XK6. It has been a year since I have seen it so I could be wrong...
evictionsurplus 4 years ago
Not a Jag, it's definately a Ferrari - Toby Dammit asks "Where's the Ferrari you promised me?" Makes sense as he is in Roma.

It wasn't Bardot, it was Raquel Welch and the movie is "Myra Breckinridge" - a truly awful film!
