Thank you for helping he with PSK31 , i was planning on getting a Flex 3000. This will definitly help out with communications. Until i can afford a Flex 3000 this Digipan and using PSK-31 is awsome. You are a great presenter.
Really enjoyed the video, I have to say that out of all the digital modes PSK is my favorite. I was looking foreward to Field Day this year, I got to be the first PSK station to ever set up at our club's FD event. Had a few bugs to work out, it didn't all run smoothly, had some antenna and feedline issues to sort out. But once I got things working I had a blast.
Thanks Randy, my mate & myself have watched your videos and successfully had our first QSO on PSK31, so thanks very much. Hardest part was setting up my Yaesu FT 450AT to the data lead, Menu USER L, Digivox, etc. I should do a Youtube on it myself ! I am about to watch your video clip again as we are still unsure about typing in and the best things to include in the macros. 73's from me M6APJ ( Andy ) & M3LWG ( Jeff )
@BENNYHAWKINS1000 Glad to hear that you got it working. After you make a few qsos you will have a feeling for the information that you are repeating, which then you can load into a macro. Have fun.
This is way to complex. Too many downloads, digipan, logging, macro configuring, cables to connect, soundcards etc. Expansion means complexity and complexity decay. I'll stick with emailing and instant messaging - much simplier and easier to operate thank you very much.
Thanks Randy. Used PSK-31 for the first time yesterday after following your instructions. Got some very good qso's and 1 into France. Thank you for helping with another aspect of the hobby. 73's VA6GSM.. Geoff
great video!! i got my tech license few weeks ago (10/16/09) and working on general. test is on 11/12/09. it is nice to see how it work instead of figuring it out from words in a book.
Randy, I just wanted to thank you for your PSK31 series. You have me on the air and PSK'IN away. I ordered a Rig blaster PnP and found it works great with Digipan!
Hope to one qso with you. You are a fine op and a great addition to the YouTube Ham community. I talked with a Chile station last night on 5 watts. What a cool mode!!!
Thanks for the series. I learned a lot and look forward to giving it a try after I upgrade from T to G. I have digipan all installed and ready for action once I get the base station/lic upgrade. 73 W5CMS
Hi Randy, don't know if you are still monitoring this site but I have a question for you. I notice when you set up your NmQTH you do not have a TX command to start sending the message and no RX and Clear at the end. I can only get it to work by adding those two commands. ??? Should it start and end without those 2 commands. Thanks.
The simple answer is no. if you are already transmitting and then you click the macro button it will transmit that, however if you click the macro when RX'ing it will transmit when you hit the T/R button.
Hi Randy, Thanks for this video series. I got set up on PSK31 last weekend and have had very good signal quality reports thanks to your instruction in this series. Hope to see you on the air sometime.
Thanks for the great series on PSK31. Your Elmering caused me to finally pull the trigger on a Buxcomm soundcard interface; should be here next week! I've been hamming 20+ years, but you've opened up a new dimension for me!! See you on the waterfall!
ah forgot to mention my call - vk2hro - and chumlypage, yeah you can talk for miles - literally hundreds of them on 5 watts - I do it on 1 watt, in a crappy area, in a bowl. It takes time and patience with your radiating things (antenna's) to do it. But its doable.
I like running my radios low power - it extends their lives.
Gday Randy - like the videos you have put on youtube - inspired me to get my Standard license (from nothing) here in OZ, which is equiv to General in the states. Tried to grab ya on Echolink, but you didnt reply, so I'll try again later - Cheers and 73's,
Well, you don't know until you try. I had 3 QSOs that day. I do have a beam, but I think all that I was talking to just had wire antennas. It will be better when the sun spots are back. But it does work. Randy

Randy,
Do you have to manually switch between receive and transmit each time you type something?
