I really like portions of your stuff. I think you have some commentary journalistic skills. However, to make it to the next level, you should provide some facts. (e.g.: you mention nigger and challenge the user to look it up but you could have provided the definition to support your story). It all depends on the context, but I can see what you're getting at. There isn't really a context where racial slurs are considered acceptable (save perhaps discussing their nature or meaning), while there are contexts wherein the use of the word "gay" is perfectly fine.
That said, homosexuals, transsexuals, bisexuals, etc. bear the brunt of words that are certifiably hate words which carry plenty of history of murder, rape, and objectification. "Gay" is, in some contexts, one of these.

It all depends on the context, but I can see what you're getting at. There isn't really a context where racial slurs are considered acceptable (save perhaps discussing their nature or meaning), while there are contexts wherein the use of the word "gay" is perfectly fine.
That said, homosexuals, transsexuals, bisexuals, etc. bear the brunt of words that are certifiably hate words which carry plenty of history of murder, rape, and objectification. "Gay" is, in some contexts, one of these.

why do people say "the 'N' word"? it's almost just as bad. You see a woman on the news, she tells you that a man was harrasing a woman and he called her the 'n' word. Your mind is going "oh he said nigger." what's the difference? just say the damn word. nigger. it's just a word. Sure it has a history, but if you can't laugh at a tragedy, then what's the point of living? i know, alot. but, still. i guess im just one of the only people in the world, who doesn't get offended. seriously, try me.

The 'N' word is a HORRIBLE word but seriously think how do you think the speds feel when you call them retards ?? & how do you think gays feel when you call them fag and stuff ??They probably feel various of things that black people feel when people call them the N word . But calling someone the 'N' word is taking more seriously because that's racist . But then again , at the end of the day nobody wants to be judged for the way they are .

I have black friends who find it funny to call them the N word.
And did you know that it wasn't only said to black people? It was meant as 'Worthless' or 'Lower than dirt'.
I'm not a hater, in fact I respect your opinions, but this is just my personal experience.

@Sabamzoo As a "Black" person, I've often noticed how other more confused "Black" ppl will often do this as a means of easing tension and avoid the subject of racism/White supremacy. Because they've been programmed to feel uncomfortable making White ppl feel uncomfortable by talking about racism/White supremacy. And so, they conscientiously or sub-conscientiously adhere to aspects of racism/White supremacy because they know that to do so, will garner them favor with White ppl.

@Sabamzoo Thank you. The reason why I noticed other so-called "Black" ppl doing it, was because I noticed myself doing it. And I started questioning the reasons behind my thoughts, speech, and actions.

@mooncooninc83 No problem. It makes sense that people would joke around about things that make them uncomfortable. And I noticed that with my black friends, if you make a racist joke, they laugh really hard, like they're trying to hide the fact that its making them uncomfortable.

@Sabamzoo Right-on. Remember when Dave Chappelle mentioned how practically all Black ppl can speak "White" when necessary? In that sense, it's almost like it's more than just something that we do to offend awkward moments. It's akin to a survival tactic. Like, I can remember being in my White supervisor's office and he started to make these comments that I'm sure he felt were anti-racist, but it still made me edgy. However, I acquiesced to his words and actions all the same. I needed my job.

@mooncooninc83 Yeah. The only real way to show no racism what-so-ever is to not make comments at all. Weather the person is offended or not. Its just making the situation worse. Just like Sexism and homophobia. And as for your supervisor he's just proving to me uncomfortable. Although I bet he hadn't even realized it.
