I got a question for anyone who knows the answer. I got a center console fishing boat, it has a big 2 stroke outboard engine so it powerful enough to wakeboard, but because its a fishing boat the rope has to connect to the back of the boat insted of a high up point like all the sportboats i see, so is it possable to wakeboard.

@CrazyCajunCoonAss yea, my dads boat is rigged up, has a rope coming from each side of the boat (at the back behind next to the motor) and leads up into a triangle to a pully then a rope goes to the wakeboard

How does it compare to snowboarding?

@q123477 There are a few differences. I do both and I absolutely love them. Being on water feels different than snow because obviously if you stop moving you sink...where on snow you, well, stay up. Obviously. Other than that it depends on if you ride with fins or without them. If you ride with them your turns will be much more snappy, if you ride with out you can get the same snappiness but it takes practice.

@coocrow Depends on how hard you hit the water =]. I boarded for the first time yesterday, and when you come outta the boots, you hit fuckin hard. But you dont usually come outta the boots/board.

the easiest way to get up is to push on back foot tilt front of board up and lean back oh and thanks for the jumping tip i will see if im doing that right but i am sure i am

so question. For my first time wakeboarding what do i need? Cause i dont want to go spend hundreds of dollars buying a wakeboard and boost and bindings when i havent even learned how to do it yet. So can i just use my boyfriends stuff? Or is the size of everything going to throw me off?

the thing you dont have is the tower and that just helps you jump higher and cut out further. but it isnt harder or easier either way

i have a wakeboard but my boat doesnt have the top part 2 attach the handles so we have 2 attach the ropes behind the boat lower, is it harder 2 wakeboard that way espacially 4 a beginner?

my wakeboard has 1 fin on each side but i have seen wakeboards that have 2 fins on each side, is that different.

And i wakeboard on the sea is that also different???

You say start off going slow. You mean for the driver of the boat not to gun it, where as if you are pulling a water skier, you gun it to get them up and out. We tried several times to get out of the water, and no go. :-(
