Shreeb, what are you using for your post prod? I am using Vegas9 and I am loosing a great deal of vid quality. You dont seem to be having any trouble with post prod image quality.
@polishbroadcast , in sony vegas there's color correction, and a lot more other effects, i dont relly knw wht software you use tho, but yup there are many ways to adjust to colors and everyth
For most of MY needs, I usually go for the 20mm. I'd say it sits on my GF1 roughly 80% of the time I am using the camera. However, for quicker and quieter AF in video mode plus IS that works during video, AND a useful zoom range, the 14-45 is also excellent.
If you had to make a choice between the 20mm f 1.7 and the 14-45 for everyday use and video recording . Which one would you chose ? Is AF in f 1.7 noisy enough to be heard during playback ? Please help thanks
@drkuthan, I'd buy the 14-45mm because of the focal range, silent AF motor, and the lens's ability to stabilize motion video. You won't get as nice bokeh or low light performance, but for everyday shooting the 14-45 gets my vote.
And yes, the 20mm AF motor can be heard slightly in playback.
@j4manasseh I'm not sure I follow your question. I don't find any particular FOV or focal length bothersome, I simply change to the appropriate lens for the subject I'm shooting.
Yes, you can set it to manual focus; in these clips I had the camera set to manual focus (as said in description). You can have the camera continuously autofocus during video, focus only when you half-press the shutter, or you can switch to full manual focus. Plenty of options.
That was pretty sample video! Cute cats xD

if you'd have to pick between the 14-45 and the 20, which would you go for (all-around usage, eg. still pic/movie, motion pic/movie, low light etc)

thanks a lot my friend. i think i will go for it. my mind was confused but after your explanations things got clear :)

@Shreeb2, does the difference in the wider angle on the 14-45mm compared to the 20mm lens bother you at all, should it be a concern for me.

I love the colors too! Just delicious. What kind of post-production are you doing to get this look, if you don't mind sharing your secret?

All these shots are great. I can't wait to get my GF1.

May I ask, can the GF1 have manual focus while filming instead of Auto Focus? Thank you.

great tone! what is effect?

To get the colors, I adjusted the red, green and blue color curves on each clip separately in After Effects.
It's not hard to do, and you can do it in most pro editing programs.
Thanks!
