Lets be very clear about military spending vs. defense spending. The congress has a constitutional obligation and mandate to provide for the defense of the country. His last campaign raised so much money that his organizers didn't know what to do with it. Only time will tell what will happen. We'll just have to wait and see what 2012 is going to bring. I hope he becomes president and brings the US some real change in terms of foreign, domestic and economic policy.

Neither Tea Party or Republican are clear as to what type of candidate they will need to capture American hearts and minds. Americans might like to elect someone who is a cross between Bush and Obama. But there was/is no Bush without 9/11, and that is Republican's (and Bolton's) main drawback.
Elevating threats worked before, but for Bolton, the domestic economic malady in the face of most Americans is not the threat he's willing to champion against.

so this guy's argument is everybody is banned from having nukes... except the US. of course, because everyone who possesses nukes is a threat to the world.. except the only country in history who has dropped nukes on innocent people.
this fucking dickhead thinks the US's economic, political, and military interests is the only thing that matters in the world. no other country matters. the UN, IMF, world bank, everybody, should bow down to the US and be the US's doormat..

@elnegrobembon Hiroshima, Nagasaki or Tokyo... What city had the most deaths from US bombings? If you said Tokyo, you are right. You get upset over the other two because they were killed by a nuke, but I really don't think the dead care if they were killed by a bullet, knife, fire or what have you.
That being said, I think this guy views on nukes is a joke.This guy is a joke.
PS, study the history of world war two, please, the "innocent people" line is a bit naive.

The bombs killed roughly 200,000 total.

no. and i can't believe you're actually trying to rationalize murdering 100's of thousands of innocent civilians indiscriminately and acting like that's not EXACTLY what the US describes as terrorism...
then again, it's not like hypocrisy is anything new in americans' way of thinking.
it's only terrorism if anybody else does it isn't it? if the japanese had nukes and dropped them on the US in order to save japanese lives, i doubt you'd be using this hypocritical line of logic..

@elnegrobembon The US used the nuked Japan to save Japanese lives. More Japanese civilians died by "conventional" weapons, not by a little bit, but by a order of magnitudes. Would you honestly say I would rather to see five million dead Japanese civilians, who died of conventional weapons, with a prolonged invasion, or end the war with two nukes.Yes, people died, but what would you have done? Would you have the US fold up shop and surrender? So is 200,000 now greater than 5,000,000?

there's a big difference between fighting and killing soldiers and specifically targeting civilians populations.
your argument holds no water when you apply the international standards and rules of waging war.
like i said, this argument wouldn't work if it was the japanese or the nazis who had launched this bomb. the pearl harbor attack was considered a terrorist attack and that was a military target...
so why is the US excused for targeting civilian populations??

why don't you just use that same logic and target the rest of the world as a preventative measure so you can eliminate any hypothetical or potential threat to the US? just blow up the rest of the world, and you'll ensure that no more american lives are lost as a result of a foreign attack. it'll probably save american lives in the long run...

All war is wrong, all killing is wrong, but you seem to think is, that the use a nuke is worse than fire bombing. If the US had to invade the home island of Nippon, do honestly think only soldiers would be killed?That no civilians would get hurt?

and i never said nukes are worse. i say murdering civilians indiscriminately is terrorism... guess who else says that? your own hypocritical country. i'm only applying your country's own standards to its own actions.
it doesn't matter if it's a nuke, napalm, or what have you. targeting civilians for military or political motives is terrorism

I will call you winner if you can name one document, historian, paper or any solid creditable thing that states the US had any reason to think that Japan would surrender with any other action that would end in less civilians death.
