I wish they would give a more descriptive way of doing quest in this game.

This part of the quest, for example, should have told you that you had to shoot the switch under the balcony to get access to the building.

When I first did this, I tried the arrow and nothing worked (probably fired at the wrong spot). So I climbed on to the temple, Whirlwinded on to Mercer's roof, then dropped on to the balcony. All in all, much more complicated than it needed to be.

I used like 2 picklocks for it. But I found another way: Ram the locked door, untill the guard comes. Kill the guard at somewhere, and loot his key.

Do you know if breaking into Mercers house before The Pursuit would fuck it up cause i broke in before the quest then when i finished Hard Answers it didnt start up the quest and know Karliah is nowhere to be found so i think im screwed and if thats the case im just gonna kill everyone in the thieves guild
