Nice video. As you state; insulin levels will be affected by all dietary consumption. But this is obviously to a lesser degree with protein, fat and fibre sources, which is why Keto diets are easier for many to deal with; their appetite and blood sugar is more stable as it is being internally managed. The body will always manufacture glucose from amino acids. You also have to consider the storage aspect of carb related insulin too. How the body manages and stores excess is vitally imprortant.
Fucking Mars bar, jelly beans, ice cream? WTF! Is this a serious talk about nutrition? But as weird as it my be, i think i actually learn something from this video.
I have to ask you since your the only youtube channel i can trust, is it okay, not saying i would, to get the majority of your protein intake from whey protein powder? thanks ian!
@anoviceweightlifter That's fine. In fact whey protein has the best amino acid profile of any protein source. I know several successful bodybuilders that get almost all of their protein from whey and it works very well for them.
Thanks for all the info Ian. Can you explain then why people promote eating so many meals throughout the day? If everything you eat causes an insulin response, why would it be desirable to have so many insulin responses throughout the day?
@mtjor156 The people that promote high meal frequency usually say that it increases metabolism, improves blood glucose management and improves protein absorption. All three of those statements are incorrect. Meal frequency is irrelevant; the key is total nutrient intake over the long term.
@LiftingForLife Meal frequency is to promote blood sugar. Go from eating frequently every 2 hrs then push to 4-5 hrs without food or a shake and tell me your energy levels. Skipping meals also promote overeating and possibly binge eating. Your body is designed to produce only a select amount of enzymes to break down PROPER food choices.
@ABiTteRFate The body can handle blood sugar just fine regardless of meal frequency. If you can't go 4-5 hours without food there is something wrong with you.
@LiftingForLife This is part of the reason why new school bodybuilders have distended bellies. It's not cute. Eating improper foods eventually tax your internal systems.Your bodily systems are all correlated with. Once one system is out, don't expect it to get better. Don't stop doing homework, specifically if you're making videos. You're doin' your thing, I get it, cool, but know what you're getting yourself and OTHERS into. Life is a learning experience alone..
@ABiTteRFate Bodybuilders have distension because of their absurdly high food intake and insulin use. Nothing to do with endogenous insulin or meal frequency.
@LiftingForLife It def does have something to do with meal frequency, food allergens, and caloric intake in one sitting...Who are you anyway? Asking out of curiosity.
Yo you did a very smart thing here...the way you described why your were giving this info and just showing the honest facts makes people listen more than when u call them retards lol! Great vid as always

@LiftingForLife It could be the body going into shock from keeping a positive nitrogen balance to letting it fall...
ABiTteRFate 2 months ago
@ABiTteRFate lol, the body does not go into shock in response to negative nitrogen balance...
