Grencia Mars Elijah Guo Eckener was the one for Faye, although I seem to remember his saying that she is not his type. Regardless, I think he felt at ease with her and even opened up himself to her. If there was more time between them Faye would have forgotten all about Spike. Shame really. This episode almost made me cry and Gren's character just left an amazing impression on me. Wow!
Ah, I love Gren!! He's my second favorite male character from Cowboy Bebop. I've always been SpikexFaye shipper, but GrenxFaye is my other favorite pairing. He understood her so well and right off the bat, too. What a great character :D
they would've been a good couple too bad he was only in 2 eps. i liked Gren, he was attentive to Spike, Faye and Julia, aside from his tenderness really fearless. i think his character is really underestimated even from Bebop fans :(

@ItachiBlackHeart Dont think Gren is native because he has blue eyes. That old man will appear in episodes mostly with Spike and in the end when he dies the old guy with say almost the same thing about Spike as he did about Gren. I love Jupiter Jazz because if your really careful you can pick up the feelings Faye had for Gren, In one scene you see Gren's robe & Faye's clothes hung together and in the end when Ed is painting faye's toe nails she says "Oh Ed, anything but blue" like Gren's eyes
@KorbenNightfire Sorry to say but in episode 13 where it is not Gren's robe, it is his coat - he was wearing when he rescue Faye from the thugs in that alley. You see it on him in episode 12 when they are running away. He episode 12 hae says "you're not my type" as a response to her misinterpretation of his kindness as a come on. He was going to his death so he may have wanted human contact. I DO think that something could have happen only cause it took to long for ED to get to her.
@KorbenNightfire oh and the eyes blue thing . . . my gosh, if you heard a story like that from a guy like that it would be hard not to want to cry at even the memory of his eye color. I think that is how mucj in got under her skin. Now that he is dead there is not left but the memory. I would not want blue either. It would hurt too much.

Actually, I believe he is straight. During his interaction with Faye, he looks over her body very lustfully. And its only when she throws him a rather steamy glance that he backs off. So I think he's straight, and he wanted her, but his body is so screwed up he could not act on it. And when he saw her starting to want him, he tried to hide his secret. So yeah, I think he's straight and he wanted Faye. And lets face it, who woulnd't?
Might add that at the end of the second half of this one, Faye says "any color but blue" when Ed is painting her toenails. And Gren's eyes are blue. Implies that perhaps a little more passed between them than we see on camera.
Jet: Mh? Hey Hey!Wake up!
Faye: urrgh...It's you.
Jet: What the hell is this all about?
Faye: -turns and shows her handcuffed wrists-
Jet: Oh I get it. He's one of those kinds of guys huh?"
