Ok.. I'm an Aussie in the US and I currently play highschool football. I'm a sophomore, or 10th grader. To all you whiny bitches complaining about both of the sports, they're both equally fun and "tough". I played rugby for a few years before I moved to the US. The only difference to me is it's easier and more comfortable to make big hits in football, but it kind of sucks to have no peripheral vision so you can easily get blind-sided. In all honesty I love both the sports equally.

I agree that the FAT linemen barley register as athletes but by grouping all of the players together you are not doing the athletic players justice. When i see a chubby prop running i dont instantly think all the players are fat and un-athletic. By attacking a sport you are insulting the players who have truly given everything for a sport and fans they love

Barry Hall former [Western Bulldogs] player was an Australian Amateur Boxing champion & is about is start a Professional Boxing career as a Heavyweight. Wayne Carey was a good Boxer. During Training often players will Spar for Cross Training. There has been a lot of people who could Box in AFL over the years.

I can tell you, pads mean shit!!!!! Players don't get killed in AFL despite being unprotected so it's not toughe than football because the reson they wear pads and helmets is because too many players got critically wounded and killed in the early years and the President was threatening to ban the game if no steps were taken to make the game safer.
