You got taste man..I listened to all their stuff as it came out, You have to be close to the last generation who knew of them. This was in their later years. They went from a glam-rock band like Queen or T-Rex to being one of the fore-runners of thrash metal type stuff.
They were always heavy live. Their early pop singles were written for them, but they alway put a self-penned rock song on the b-side. They put out 8 great hard rock albums between '74 - '81, but also did a soft rock album in '78 that "Love is Like Oxygen" came from.
....yeeaaah, this is it, wow, one of my favorites, that`s speed, so cool, I love it very much, thank`s for posting these real H-E-R-O-E-S of music!!!!
This is not the original track in the Sweet Fanny Album, but very good too. I believe which Set Me Free is closer to Flight of The Rat of Deep Purple.
This is so cool. I think it is activating the higher functions of my brain. I'm seeing in all 64 colors of the crayola spectrum. Sweet is so cool! Sweet rocks so hard!!!!
Love the Sweet ,this song Set Me Free , wow so close to Fireball from Deep Purple ,run both tracks at the same time and both sample each others songs ,freaky both great tracks
WOW! Well done!I have Live & Rare..need to get this stuff...didn't know it existed. This band started my passion for hard + heavy back in the 70s,they have inspired many Metal legends!
cheers man thanks for posting, I was lucky enough to see Mick tucker when he and andy toured here in 86 with paul day. Mick Tucker along with Ian Paice is the best drummer I've seen play live.
AWESOME, again! I particularly love the 'Pink Floyd' piano effect. =) Too cool. Makes me wanna root head down in my old toybox for my black light and 'those' posters again! *LOL* WOW, I'm remembering the headaches already. Ach du meine gute! Mutti! Ich hab ein Bauchweh. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! =)
You'd do that for me? Thats so- well, Sweet. lol Just happens to be one of my favorites too....my nick is something else for sure. Long story how I got it. I'll tell you sometime!

its a private recording of a rehearsal for the Level Headed Tour, recorded 4 December 1977. Gary Moberly is the guest musician on keyboards.

Rough studio cut...well there was 2 guitars on the melodyline there!?

This is a board tape from a rehearsal for Sweet's '77 tour. i think the keyboardist is Gary Moberley. And yes, that's Mick!
intuantu 3 years ago
1977 sounds right, I got some of this stuff SOMEWHERE on the net and OH YEAH, That's Mick!!
MAN!! This band was SO great!! They kicked more ass than a 6 legged mule!!
Wink was a MONSTER album, some heavy playing on there.
Sad that they'll never make music again with Brian AND Mick gone.
RIP The Sweet!!
