I love the Melvins. Is there another band that has been so good, and so heavy for 25 years? I've seen them play in the 80's, 90's, and again last year. (Yeah, I'm getting old.) Sometimes I forget about the Melvins for a while, then I listen to them again, or they come to my town, and I realize again how great they still are.

to AICSLUDGE: I saw the Melvins last year and the opening band was called "Big Business." (They were really good.) When they finished the drummer and bass player from Big Business stayed on stage and played the whole set with the Melvins. It was great. Especially because Dale and the Big Business drummer play "opposite," one is right handed and one is left handed. So with their drumkits side by side they looked like a mirror image of one another. x2 drums is a HEAVY sound.

ggzo3, that wasn't a one time only deal. Big Business and Melvins are merged. Have been since 2008 when they dropped (A) Senile Animal. The double drums is great. I wish so bad they'd come down to Arizona and play a set. This is my favorite band of all time and I've still never seen them play.

I'm pretty sure they still are, even though Buzz apparently has a history of heroin use with Kurt Cobain so he preaches against it today for obvious reasons. I was at a show where this drunk acquantance of mine apparently wangled an invitation into their dressing room with a bag of pot, because his uncle was a photographer at the show. They were joking about it later onstage, saying "Drugs are only worthwhile if you can shoot them up your ass".
