  • @spartan12374 I've only had it for a year, but in that time you grow accustomed to it :) You'll also not be scared of going low, because you'll be able to tell and know what to do,and you'll grow more confident; STAY STRONG MY BROTHA :D

  • Fantastic video, I am also T1 and a graduate of SJU, go Storm. I have had the ups and downs and it has been a long strange trip, but I learned something from evry aspect of it, even the bad stuff. Good Luck.

  • I urge you to look into a product called Vislaus check out the testimonials from others who have come off their insulin, both Type 1 and 2. My father passed from Type1 and since my step father started Visalus he has been taking off of his med He is Type 2.I decided to promote this challenge because it is saving lifes and changing them around the world. It can and will change your life. Check out my diabetes videos and testimonials.

  • Thank you very much for doing a video like this. I'm type one diabetic, have been since i was 13(16 now) and very few people don't understand the differences between type 1 and type 2. and a lot of people have misconceptions.

I myself am a Downhilll and Freestyle mountain biker, and up until last year i played high school baseball. I had a bad back injury. But the important things is that you don't have to change your life because of T1D.

I'll never give up extreme sports. GREAT VIDEO.

  • You are pretty much an inspiration to me and many others.I am diabetic and people do tend to think of type 2 when u talk about it.I do things to help myself like exercise. I am still in my honeymoon phase and I still get good blood sugars. I dont take insulin for my food. I feel I'm lucky to be in such a strong honeymoon. And i love that you also consider diabetes as a problem that we all can overcome.Thank you for sharing your awesome story. From a 14 year old guy in Cali.

I have been in and out the hospitals over many of years and last year I was fighting for my life. I have started a JVD donnation in the paranormal world. I have a shirt we sale that we donnat all the funs to the JVDF. Thanks for shareing your story with us. Never give up

  • Ha yea exactly and once people start asking questions.. they don't stop. People either wanna know nothing or everything. I love Cali best place ever except for san Francisco ha but LA is great and then the surfing is 100 times better than Florida. If you want add me on Facebook Josh White type Arlington High School cuz there's probably a lot of me. I think my profile picture is a sand dune with a grey truck. It's cool knowin other diabetics so hit me up

  • Idk ha were not exactly the sort of people you would think would have diabetes I guess, most people just don't understand and make a big deal out of it when we aren't really any different than everyone else. It's a setback we'd rather just leave unsaid. Like a few people know just not many haha ive never really thought about it though. Isn't JDRF in Memphis? Cuz we always have stuff like walks and speakers and my mom always goes because she's one of the medtronic managers

  • @68blitzen i understand what you mean. i know when someone finds out or I tell them I have Diabetes they think of type 2. its difficult because they never will of course fully understand what we go through but some people I realize are willling to listen and I do my best to inform them about type 1 and try to raise awareness about the disease. and others i have realized dont care to take a lil bit of time to learn what type 1 is.

  • @68blitzen i understand what you mean. Its difficult because a lot of people when they hear the word diabetes they automatically think of type 2 because they dont know of type 1. When talking about diabetes i have realized some people are willing to listen me and learn and are curious about type 1 and others arent. it happens but i try my best to raise awareness. As for JDRF I know its very involved with im sure all or most of the states, I know JDRF is in California.

  • @68blitzen i agree with what you said about not being the sort of people you would picture being diabetic - people assume you have to be overweight etc. when i was diagnosed people kept asking my mom if she fed me loads of sugar or if i ate unhealthily! that just made her feel guilty as if me being diabetic was in some was her fault. its hard when people dont understand :( elina

  • 68blitzen - I'm sorry but I am curious, how come no else knows.

  • Thanks elina!

  • good for you doing the walk for JDRF, i was diagnosed when i was three so i know how hard it can be sometimes, i also pray everyday for a cure. youre going to inspire a lot of people, keep it up and good luck! elina

  • Holy shit haha so im diabetic and one of my best friends is and no one knows except us and we had this bet that there are no hot diabetics hahah. You just proved us soooo wrong
