  • Thats not Kristen singing this song..this is Danielle Landherr. Her and Jennifer Cella are my favs of the Group.

  • Kristen has such a sweet, angelic voice, I love her so much, she's so awsome! I love seeing her on tour, this is one of my fav songs!!!!!!!!!! Going in favs!!!

  • Her voice is also, calming, and inviting and kind, and sweet, loving, and more. I love the west tour!!!!! Go Kristen!!!!!!

  • did you hear the womans voice? incredible!!!

  • this is not my fav style of music entirely but i love the beat of this bands music and the key board playin is also pretty cool

  • Just about the only metal I'll listen too. some metal counds like I could play it, and I don't play guitar, but TSO is amazing.

  • This Is Not the music I normally listen to but this is incredible the TSO is awesome

  • how is this borin!? I'd like to see u play something better than tht!!!

  • I hate to say this but, Mia who toured with TSO in 2007 probably had the best range for this particular piece. I've seen them every year they have come to NY(Albany) & she just blew my doors off. Was disappointed when she was not w/the band this year.

  • ahh! i love them! i just saw them last night and it was amazing!

  • Yes, this is from Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Thanks to Jon Oliva's extensive use of orchestral music with Savatage, TSO really shows their stuff when it comes to classical music. Plus, Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffrey were classically trained on the guitar. Sava-thanks for posting this great vid!

    Peace,

    Glorianna

  • an orchestra i actually like :-)

  • i dont usually listen to this type of music but this is realy good

  • First minute or so sounds like a juxtaposition of "Best I Can" by Queensryche and Mozart's Magic Flute. Still great, though :)

  • A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

  • that kind of range isn't just talent. that takes so much work. listen to her control. perfect pitch. there are so many singers born into it, and so few like her that have trained so hard.

  • That is bad ass, rock on!

  • I just came back from this concert (IZON 2008! NJ) AND ITS WAS AMAZING! THIS SONG AND THAT KICK ASS DRUM SOLO STUCk OUT FOR ME! (NOT TO MENTION STEVEN TYLER!)

  • I was there too! That was a sick concert. And I almost cried when Steven Tyler came out. Haha

  • Its almost xmas. Soon my love of TSO will be justified.

  • Great song!

  • There are some muslim scum who are trying to ban TSO from performing in England...they say that the music offends islamic sensiblities...

  • Wow. Some people...

  • figures

  • "islamic sensibilities" is that an oxymoron?

  • ha!

  • tso rocks. i just saw them live performing this in their concert and its much better when you here it live. but still rocks

  • i am 16 and this was my 6th year! i love tso and i will NEVER get sick of it!

  • This band is something else. Very very impressive work. I get the feeling it would get old after a while but am DEFINITELY going to see them live next chance I get.

  • Been going to their concerts for about five years now.... its yet to get old =D

  • Wow that girl is beautiful...excellent voice

  • this is my fave TSO song

  • Wow that girl is beautiful...excellent voice

  • this is an amazingly talented group of people who are taking on traditional christmas music and turning it into something different. they are making it more apealing to the younger generation of today. its sad that you cant see that and its such a shame that u feel the way u do about this amazing band.

  • the only lame thing i see is your criticism....why don't you go blow Mr. Lynne since you obviously got the hots for him. Also, these guys did not make their career on "overblown Christmas music"...they had careers before this

  • Savatage. Personally I think TSO is better now.

  • If you're going to insult something at least spell it right.

  • Get over yourself, pharmnut or whatever the hell you call yourself. Talk about close-minded. TSO is awesome. If you don't like them then why are you here? Typicall troll.

  • not spiritually meaningful - Sorry but spiritually meaning is from the heart; God gave these musicians and they are using it; it you listened to the words it is another way he is using people to spread the message of Christ's birth.

  • Couldn't agree more! I am usually listening to Medieval chant this time of year, but I make an exception for TSO and a few others. The thing about their music is the talent and the intense charity, it literally burns so wildly one has to weep.

  • For those of you who don't know, these types of bands were around in the 70's. This looks and sounds very much like something Esperanto would do. They had a string section instead of a lead guitar. Pete Sinfield of King Crimson produced them. A shame that X-mas music is the only last frontier of prog musicians. :-(

  • DUDE i cant wait to see them!

  • I got to see these guys in Kansas City at the Sprint Center and they were Amazing

  • I think I am crushing on every female and male in this video. Seriously.

  • omg. we have one of their CD's playing at where i work and the sound she's making, i could of sworn it was a instrument or sound machine of some kind.

  • Just one question...what's the name of that singer? Her voice is crystalline...absolutely charming.

  • i love them <3

thee guys of the violin i lovee them ♥

and thee guitarist ♥ omg hes soo cute ♥

i saw the orchesta yesterday :D

    in their tour 2008

  • I saw them too! They were so cool!!!

  • it used to be our tradition to go see them, but they don't come here. it's been two years since they've come. i love their music sooo much.

  • Two more days until I get to see them for the 6th time! <3 It's been a family tradition to go see TSO every year since 2002. Best family tradition ever!

  • i just got back from there show and i loved it so much like im dead serious, when you say your going to see the TSO pple who dont know the name look at you wierd but thats cause they have heard the songs and not the name. Once you hear the TSO you look at orchestras in a whole new light lol

  • This was my first Trans-Siberian Orchestra experience and I must say I enjoyed it! Good stuff... I can see why it has 5 stars. They are playing close to me in the near future, perhaps I will attend =) Thanks for posting

  • Aw! She didn't do the scream at the end!

  • whos the guy playing the gold flying V ?

  • Chris Caffery.

    What show was this from?

  • they are amazing live!

    ive seen four times.

i wish we could of been able to afford them this year :(

  • Absolutely amazing!! what an incredible sounding orchestra. PHENOMENAL!!

  • Yes Sonofzion, I was wondering why on earth Al was sitting down until my friend with me pointed out his left leg. With all the lights going on I had not seen his leg until then. Poor man indeed. I'm still wondering how on earth he hurt so much of himself just jumping down one level! anyway as I said, they just rocked and can't wait to see them again. I never get tired of hearing them.. take care..

  • this song is funny

the guy with the les paul reminds me of Joe Perry, i will never get that out of my head lol

  • 8)

    ima seeing them in Cincinnati!!

    first concert :DDD

    cant wait for it !

  • i just saw em for the first time this past sunday they are freaking amazing live your gonna love it

  • 8) im gunna see them in Cincinnati!

    i cant frekin wate!!!

  • I get to see them again in Dec. 22 in Indianapolis. Can you say FRONT ROW?? HELL YEA!

  • Front row for TSO is special. I've been there several times and you will definitely dig it. This year I'm second one night and sixth the next.

  • I just saw them on November 8th At Key Arena in Seattle. The show was the best I've ever seen. They played for almost 3 hours and the lights, energy and running around the stage and into the audience was just amazing. I can't wait for next year to see them again. It is worth any priced ticket to go. I am so ready for Christmas now!!

  • I saw them at GM Place in Vancouver the day before and it was my first time seeing them in person and indeed I was amazing by how well the production was. I got the cheapest tickets for not bad seats amazingly and it was definatly worth the money, concidering all that electricity used.

  • I just like saw this a few hours ago. They where running alover the place. It was in Seattle and I think it was the best. My dad will see it soon too. And I know I will see them next year. If they come back...

  • This is Danielle Landherr singing on this vid from a previous tour. I was at the show last night in Vancouver and the girl singing this Queen of the Night didn't impress me. As a former coloratura myself, this aria requires a crystal clear soprano and her voice was ust too thick. I'm so sorry that Jennifer Cella and Danielle Landherr were not on this tour. Absolutely hands down the best show out there. It ROCKED!

  • I was hoping that Anna Phoebe was there in vancouver too.. She kicked ass! I kind a like the set up last year.. Awesome show still! Poor Al Pitrelli was injured :(

  • The Calgary show was pretty awesome. I had been really hoping they would play this song so I was filled with happiness when they did. It was done super well too.

  • yea,she even sang this while she was running down to the stage! that was such an awesome concert.

  • yeah the calgary show was awesome

  • They did an awesome job performing this number in Calgary tonight!

  • Haha just saw this performed last night in saskatoon. all i can say is WOW, this chick was such a good singer. the light show was also amazing!!

  • I love this song. Saw them last night hershey.

    What a blessing TSO is!

  • just saw them in grand forks north dakota from the second row, completely amazing, second time seeing them and I hope they come again next year.

  • i was there too - the view from the balcony was spectacular! they were in Winnipeg the following day but i couldn't make it :(

  • I love this

its my favorite remix by them

  • go to their web site they are all over the U.S. starting next week in Iowa

  • Seeing them November 7th for the third time! Best light show ever!

  • i'm french, and you guys are SO lucky to be able to see em !!! i wish they came in france!!! well, i guess they will never....

  • thats cause the french suck

  • i saw these guys last year two times in one night :) its amazing. went to the 3:00 show then the 7:00 show in new hampshire

  • can i ask you somthing

do they do like crazy rock or just plain orchestra

  • they do a lot of rock stuff....ya its Christmas music but they twist it with rock and add stuff and it sounds really good. The light show is the best you'll ever see

  • go look up more songs by them they are AMAZING. its like omg. amazing guitar skillz and stuff but w/ other orchestra instruments. either way ur satisfied its amazing

  • omg! seeing them for the second time november 28! im soo syked!

  • Cool~~ Transformed Mozart's Magic Flute into a rock piece.

  • i want them to come to europe! And not just around in america!

  • Oh my god they are sooo frigging amazzzzzing! I saw them at the key arena during Chirstmas time!!!!

  • From 'Trans Siberian Express' (or is that RailRoad?), to 'Trans Siberian Orchestra,' LOL!

    Great piece played here!

  • seen them 7 years in a row...my opinon the worst part is this

  • I saw them in concert last year.

    :]

  • how well did they do

  • Fantastic !!! Do you think we will ever get to see TSO in Australia ??? I hope so. They are wonderful.

  • awesome look at Al he kicks ass, he shoulda stayed with metal

  • omg that's really danielle landherr?! i didn't know she could sing oprah?? wow!

  • I think you mean opera. Oprah is a talk-show host........

  • lol oopz yes that's what i mean sorry.

  • Was this on a DVD???

  • actually simon cowl himself could with enough training. if you have a decent voice and are just naturally in the same tone range. it just takes repetition to match any vocal score.

  • Yeah its just a matter of just getting used to singing in the key

  • They played it in the Oklahoma City Concert December 22.

  • i went to it to and it was AMAZING

  • sorry about the bad comment and i am NOT saying that Trans-Siberian Orchestra is bad im just saying that they rule the dang world k good and im not being mean

  • No, I mean it doesn't have enough. I went to the one in the Scottrade Center, they had too many lights on

  • i don't think this place has bad lighting

  • Well, not bad lighting, it's just that when I saw them, the centre had waaaay too many lights, and so I guess I was expecting more than what they had here.

  • this song wa sawsome when i saw them teh other day

  • No matter how bad the others sounded, the one we saw was a little itty bitty thang and she sounded as amazing as the recording but this one is a little better...but just a little.

  • Ya, I saw TSO in Indianapolis in December and the girl that sang this was REALLY amazing. She was tiny and scared me... lol

  • ya TSO is the best last month i saw them at the Pepsi Center and it was good (including this song)

  • I guess this song was only sung on with the west coast tour cause I went to the December show in Richmond and it wasn't played! Kinda upset that it wasn't

  • I saw this on the East coast. It was AMAZING

  • i saw this in seattle for my birthday... I loved how she ran and sang at the same time

  • lol this must me the original recording over a video b/c no singer is that awesome live lol. no offense to TSO or anything, but i think it's kind of funny.

  • Best thing Russia has to offer. Please kill Putin and put TSO in charge!

  • TSO is not from Russia!!

  • Ok DUMMY...

TSO is actually the metal band...

    SAVATAGE....

    From the fuckin states...

    You know...

    SAVATAGE....

Who's been around since the early 80's...

    DIG BROTHA?....

Type in Savatage in Metacrawler or Google...

    LIVE AND LEARN DUDE!

  • hahahahahahahahaha ownage

  • i saw them in the izod center (Formerly the continentinal arena) and the rocked i even saw the whos lead singer with them

  • Who is that blonde in the black dress? She must be a parking ticket, because she's got fine written all over her. OH!

  • thats the only parking ticket id like to have on my windshield

  • That's Danielle, one of the members of the female portion of the group. And she's far more attractive in person, I know. :-D I had the opportunity to meet her on Thursday night in Raleigh.

  • Damn I wish I had a voice like that!!

  • Pretty cool rendition of the Queen of The Night Aria from Magic Flute!! These guys are cool!

  • In this video are Al Pitrelli (guitar), and his wife Jane Mangini (keyboards), Jon Oliva (piano), Paul O'Neill (guitar), Chris Caffery (guitar), Danielle Landherr (vocals) NOT Jennifer Cella, Jeff Plate (drums), and I cant tell who is on bass... it is also definately a recording from a tv show, not a live performance in an arena. I think that covers all the questions that I see on the comments...

  • lol read this.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra performing Queen of the Winter Night on TV. (less)

HELLO READ BEFORE YOU MAKE YOURSELF AN IDIOT...

    (not you kkswmmr =p)

but if you read that you dont need to ask where it was performed or w\e...lol

  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra 4-ever!! I love all songs of TSO^^

  • You can tell this wasn't on tour. The tour groups are mixed up. Most of them I think are on the east tour, such as: Paul O'Neill (guitar), Chris Caffery (guitar), and Jennifer Cella (vocals). However, Al Pitrelli (guitar) and Jane Mangini (female keyboardist) are west tour. This was probably at a charity event or something on TV. Last year I saw them do something for a BBC channel.

Anyway, this rocks, and Jen Cella has an incredible voice. Can't wait to see them live Dec. 9th.

  • Also this is synced over with the song from the track in the live show the guitar isn't that dead on like that you can hear it still going a bit. In this it stops instantly.

  • im guessing your right,

seeing as how live recordings suck

  • I saw them on the 9th in St. Louis. They were awesome.

  • this is filmed during a rehearsal, that's why there's no crowd, multiple cameras and no one is moving around on stage...also, the narrator aint their chillin' on stage like he is in the actual show

    5 stars

  • greatest live show ever, saw them last saturday at Copps in Hamilton

every single person who has seen these guys has come out insanely impressed. 2 shows in 1!

  • TESTAMENT rocks, members of TSO include members and exmembers of SAVATAGE...

  • TSO is Awesome...probably some of the best live performers around. However, it IS obvious that they are not playing this live. If you watch closely at the very end (3:01), you will see drummer Jeff Plate miss the last piece.

  • but if you listen, you can tell that though he did miss the last piece there was no drum.

  • who gives a shit?????

  • Isn't that Alex from Testament (on the Les Paul)?

  • yeah that's Skolnik

these guys and gals are all college friends

    Great stuff h

    Mozart was definately a rocker!!!!

  • Nah, I think that's Al Pitrelli, no!? Hard to tell, but doesn't look like Skolnick except for the hair-length.

  • need to post the song back to reason pt 2 from the lost christmas awesome song

  • still playback...every subtle nuance of the album version is in this, there's no way this is them playing live

  • im sorry you have no sense of taste

  • yeah the video sucks but the cd just kicks but

There's one track w/2 handed tapping that kills it is so fluid and smooth!

  • shut up you dam fag this video rules and TSO is the best band ever alright good

  • that was to ManiTaylor2

  • when ifirst herd this i could not believe there was a voice in it she sounds so cool

  • Magnificent!

  • Interesting... I noticed the reeds in the background; was this for a tv christmas special?

    Katalyzt

  • thanks for posting this i have been looing for this for a long time

  • This is a good song, but its my least fave of all TSO's videos.

  • Oo thanks mrmojorisin365

  • Love it, does anyone know where to get piano sheet music for this?

  • yes, Skolnick is in trans siberian orchy now.... most metal orchestra ever!!!!!

  • Tany Ling does a much better job than this girl...
