@Arora911 The tools he uses are mentioned at the start of the video -- two of them are erasers. . . I would assume those are what's used for the blending / smudging. :)

Xiao Nan, that smooth blended effect is surreal. What are you using at 1:29 when you start doing he blending? Surely that's not a tortillion or blending stump because I can't get that effect using charcoal. Charcoal once on my paper leaves marks if I press a little hard or even mildly. It can't be the kneaded eraser too is it? I really hope to hear back from you. I'm a big fan of yours from New Zealand.

there is a method called magic stick if you have heard of it. you start with the distance of your eye. this distance is the space between both eyes. the tip of the nose is 2 eyelengths from the out side corner of each eye.

from the bottom of the nose the bottom of the mouth is one length lower. the lips are half a eyelength wide. the distance from your eye to the chin is the distance to the crest of the head.. hope this helped!

@ThePortraitArt Well I can't find something to say that's not already been said you draw AWESOMELY, I can draw...which is kindda cool....I self-taught me I usually draw with a random pencil or 0.7 pen I'm OBSESSED with shading I'm unfortunately not going deep with drawing I barely discovered my super duper gift last year I was like O_O I'm improved my nose eyes and whole face-drawing skills by myself but I feel kindda empty nothing to draw and no one pushing me to it U know...
