  • It takes a train going at normal to high speed at least 4 times as longer to stop than a bus or truck....

Just because the train driver can see you doesnt mean the train wont hit you

  • DON'T RUN THE RISK!

  • Ormskirk bound train.... I live in Ormskirk....

  • omg a class 153

  • This 153 looks really angry lol

  • It's all down to pure ignorance, no matter how graphic the ads are people will still insist on running the risk.

  • why is it most people are thick enough to think that they can beat the train. they cant.

  • @TheCatapultTV It's all down to pure ignorance, no matter how graphic the messages are people will still insist on running the risk.

  • Of course the main point is, unlike a road vehicle, trains can't swerve out of the way. They're also wider than the tracks, and most people just don't realise that.

  • I think as far as possible they're trying to remove level crossings anyway for obvious reasons - the original Airdrie-Bathgate line had quite a few but the newly reopened one doesn't have any.

  • @danjo5588 yeah but they can see if they can jump the lights at the level crossing but they cant

  • @danjo5588 what if its not moveing?

  • @SmrtA55 Why would it not be moving?

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz But what if its not moving how can it beat you?

  • @SmrtA55 If it wasn't moving the level crossing gates wouldn't need to be closed!

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz Ok dumb shit did you read the first coment?

  • @SmrtA55 There's no need to be like that! The original comment was referring to trying to beat a train at a level crossing - saying that it doesn't matter what sort of train it is it'll beat you!

  • I hope the participant was well compensated for his use in this advert

  • I absolutely love these safety warnings, they are dead honest, straight forward and to the point, yeah, go ahead, cross in front of a train, one day, your luck will run out, and then your relatives have to be the ones picking up the remains of your posesions, which will be covered in blood, a train doesn't care, as it says here, 10 pounds of human body, it doesn't affect a train in the slightest manner, don't run the risk!

  • @HMSDaring1 Er, he said 10 STONE, not 10 POUNDS!

  • How did they got an audio?

  • Isn't the speed limit on national railway tracks 100mp/h? I thought the trains only travelled about 80 - 90 mp/h :s

  • @ciarandoranuk 115 is the limit where i am,

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore Oh. Well then, maybe...

  • @ciarandoranuk

Speed tops out at 125mph, any faster and it becomes a problem to read signals and stop the train in time. Most lines are somewhere between 70-100 though.

  • @ciarandoranuk Maximum speed limit in the UK is currently 125 mph. Most of the high speed lines may soon have that limit taken to 140mph if they are upgraded.

  • I don't understand why we don't have commercials like this here in the USA! We definetly need them!

  • Only suicidal people end their lives on the railroad tracks. Do not try that suicidal stunt on yourself.

  • The only way you would know what a person hitting a train would sound like is if you actually did it, or conducted a series of tests, which would be pointless, so just stop arguing, it's a 30 second radio advert and you're turning into a Dr Cox rant

  • i like you.

  • You should read some of my poetry.

  • I do get plenty of work done thanks. There is more than one computer though, and comments take seconds.

  • I assure you that I would say what I say to you on here face to face.

Most of the comments written by me or others on here is when we're in the office.

Perhaps you should read the whole story and not just a few comments. Don't be a monkey who just doesn't get a point being made.

It doesn't matter to me where you are from. Humans are parasites regardless of their culture or race.

  • I am not disputing what the advert is for.

I am stating that, that is NOT what a train hitting a person sounds like.

Which part of the last sentence do you not understand?

  • Wrong, there is a dull thud. When a train hits a deer or some other wild animal there is a sound. I understand what they are trying to state but it is incorrect.

  • They would not actually know what a person being splattered by a train would be like as nobody has been there to record it. So this advert should state "in theory, this is what a person be hit by a train would sound like"

  • Even a 08 shunter will maul you lol!

  • true unless your god

  • Well, I'm afraid it does make a loud swatting sound, but that would be unfit for public consumption; too obscene.

  • how could the car be like that at the END of a train?

  • That's the front...

  • We are running adds in OZ as well for the same reason

  • omg when was this pic taken :O thats the ormskirk to preston train :| what comes every 2 hours :@

  • sorry i ment "Risk"

  • You vs Train ? Trains always going to win

i agree with you all accept (MickeyLove01)

    Dont Run The Rick !

  • How do you know? You don't see any footage of it. Does it matter anyway? Any train could end your life.

  • I know because a HST has it's own distinctive sound. It only matters to pricks who want to argue.

  • for fucks sake, what drugs are you on?

  • ventolin for my ashma if you must know

  • stay clear of swine flu as you'll be high risk

  • i know that

thats why i have 1st priority of Tamiflu tablets

and anybody else at high risk anyway

i dont have time for this anymore

so im not gonna comment anymore

  • I am happy that you know your place.

  • no matter how many times you tell people about the dangers involved on a rail track or level crossing, they will never get it into their thick skull and learn, because people think they can beat the train, only to find out that the train beat them

  • @killer1479 It's human nature to think "Oh, that's never going to happen to me".

  • be safe
