This, to me, is Kon's masterpiece. Being a film graduate, I highly admire the editing in this feature along with that fantastic soundtrack and script. The whole thing is directed pretty much like a live action feature, but happens to be an anime. It's just a shame that I could never get any of my instructors to watch it, they thought it would be Pokemon and Sailor Moon all over again. :(
I just saw this on Ovation... It's so "deep" and beautiful... For some odd reason, the whole "search" and imagery, activate something in my emotions from childhood. This search, "she was chasing a shadow", for some reason, I almost can feel the pain of this search for the "shadow", this bleak search... Grrr, what beauty, I will not be able to sleep now to due nostalgia :/
