  • 1:39 ZUTUTU

  • Damn music in background wanted to hear the engine not some crapy pornmusic

  • wow some real winners hear. a BOV is used on turbo vehicles (mainly manuals) to prevent reverse surging of air when you close the throttle. If you did not have one when you closed the throttle the air would hit the plate and go back through the turbo and slow the turbine way to fast which causes pre-mature failure of the turbo. They are only for turbo/supercharged vehicles. they won't make your car faster because they are used as a safety measure for forced induc. vehicles.

  • @rocker4u123 stfu

  • @rocker4u123 I believe they do make your car more responsive to boost,I mean think about what you said, the bov keeps the air from jamming back into the compressor so in theory this would help keep the turbo spinning maximum efficiency when letting of the throttle and getting back on it since the air is no longer slowing the compressor wheel just my thought.

  • LOL.... ok, 9:06 killed me.

  • thank you guys great video everyone should watch this before asking any questions

  • can u have a blow of value with out having the turbo

  • @carlostacos777

    did you actually watch it?

  • i have that bike;p

  • RIGHT not to far off the mark mate, lots of videos show real dyno proven HP with a leaf blower.

If you put a electric blower on your toss pipe you may be surprised.

  • The end of this video was just so epic guys....subbed lol

  • Nice, but the guy forgot to mention that during aggressive driving (like when autox-ing or even shifting) where you're constantly going wide open throttle, then no throttle, then wide open throttle again, you get less lag when you recirculate because there is already some boost left in the system. Ofcourse there's no difference in boost when you're building up the boost, but that's irrelevant. What matters is AFTER you release the throttle. What if you wanna go WOT again, like when you let go

  • hahahaha..love to try this on my wife's KIA PICANTO 2006 ;'D

  • Ima go ahead and say this is the gayest thing i ever saw. why would you waste time and money building this rig for a n/a car. IF YOU WANT THE SOUND THEN BUY A TURBO CAR, they come with that COOL sound your looking for. i think you should build one of these to fit in a kangaroo pouch. bounce bounce bounce ptshh haha

@witeboy08 that chirping sound is called turbo chatter or flutter and it will cause catistrphic damage to the turbo and when the turbo blows up then it will go in the engine too

  • so its bad to hear the chirping noise from a turbo instead of the wooosh sound or no sound

  • hahahah crazy mfkers xD !!!

  • S12!!!!!! :D

  • Its correct to say that BOV and Wastegates are not 'power adders'. Its correct to say they relieve potentially hazardous pressure from the hot and cold site of the turbo... the 'techy dude' needs to read a book from Motorbooks Workshop : turbocharging performance handbook because everything else he said is debatable. Recirculating a BOV to turbo inlet helps keep a turbo from Surging... that said, if you are worried about surge, you selected the wrong turbo for your car.

  • @walperstyle does a wastegate affect turbo lag at all

  • the Manny Moe and Jack of car mods..

  • Is the car a Nissan S12? :P

  • @TheRealFobican sad...it's an ae86

  • @zalexzftw it most definitely is a nissan S12. i own a ae86 hatch back but i must say the nissan copied the design

  • @knurri It's coz the first bikes invented were push bikes, they had no gears or peddals.

  • XDD ill install a Valve onto my Bike, untill i got old enough to get a real car XDD

greetings from germany, found you yesterday, damn good videos XD

  • I will never understand why the UK and Aussies call it a "push bike". It's contradictory. Why not a "ride bike"?? What's the point in pushing a bike? Makes no sense.

  • @knurri I call it a bikie

  • @AKhellbindeR Not a mustang forum :/

  • @wbc564 people that want open venting bovs on their car are usually more into imports and are young adults. people into american muscle are usually a little older and dislike anything that could be counted as "riced up" :p

  • @AKhellbindeR yeah, well, i am young, and fit into the american muscle category :)

but thanks, it was just general curiosity, i would never want the BOV sound anyway

  • @4sake123 Ok, thanks... But is it because sc doesn't keep spinning while turbos do, or what?

  • You won't see any performance gains from a recirculating BOV on a dyno. But anyone with any common sense will tell you an atmospheric BOV will make your engine run lean as soon as your back on the throttle.

  • @billybobjoe198 Not to mention most cars with stock ECU's stall when accelerating and then reaching a sudden stop, while using Atmospheric BOVs.

  • at the begining the guy says that if you dont have a blow off valve in a turbo charged car it can cause the chriping sound because of the air going back through the turbo, can this cauase problems because i think that sound is great. if it causes problems is there any way to get that sound without causing problems (i dont know much about cars btw, so sorry if i sound stupid)

  • @toyotasuprabov shortens the life-span of your turbine.

  • @perrota88 ahh right thanks for the reply bro.

  • 105 kw on a Revo tuned GTI? thats less that stock!

  • Do supercharged cars not need bovs or do australians just not count/use/consider superchargers

  • @wbc564

No, the way superchargers work don't require blow off valves

  • @wbc564 i could be wrong(cuase im not in2 the whole turbo/superchargers) but SCs run off the engines pulleys not the throttle body so when u lift outta the gas SCs go back 2 idle jus like the engines

  • @JohnDeereBoy06 that would make sense, thank you

and thank you for not being a youtube faggot who would just call me a noob or some shit like that :/

  • @wbc564 np i look at it this way we all r noobs at sumthing if every1 knew everything it would be a borin world an besides if u never ask questions how u ever gonna learn?

  • That 1:42 that Wododo was EPic :P

  • "Can i put a blow off valve on my [Insert non turbo car], so it makes that woosh sound"

That must be THE most asked question on any car forum.

  • 1:40 woodododododo

  • you forgot the card in the spokes of the bike for an authentic performance driving experience! ;)

  • did this to my lawnmower after i first saw it lol funnest thing

  • And also any BOV will not increase HP or achieve more power at all.

Brett from GFB does not mention this, he is the engineer, im not, Im a car importer, but his pay is from selling all the GFB products, if he was to say there is no gain from any BOV, he will need to ask friends for pocket money.

Anyway, I still love turbo, AWD, Japanese imports and will continue to import them as it has become a passion for me.

    Hope I have explained well.

  • Therefore the car might run rich for that second, as you change gears, promoting detonation (too much fuel in cylinder, not enough air, fuel igniting way too soon, melting pistons, eventually)

Anyway, we all desire the unique BOV sounds as it gets attention from people, but also Blue Boys and we can get a fine for having a VTA BOV.

Which this video shows the GFB ultimate and most expensive part, the electronically adjusted BOV which you can control, minimal or maximum noise.

    all marketing.

    Thnx

  • With VTA BOVs (please keep up with acronyms), when you take foot off pedal, all the pressurised air gets 'dumped' outside the car and makes a favoured noise thanks to the trumpets on the BOV. However, the car is still delivering more fuel because the air flow meter instructs to when the car is under boost, as it does not know all that air is dumped, it will advance timing and provide more fuel when all that pressured air is no longer available.

  • Anyway, with BOVs, the only purpose of that is to eliminate compressor surge by forced air going the other direction and hitting the turbine blades, damaging it, and many other parts, respectively.

If you invest in a recirculating valve, which is the better option, it can handle higher boost and not leak under stress like some factory plastic units. It is actually better for the car to run this way to avoid running with rich fuel mixtures which I will explain...

  • If you watch this video correctly, with a bit of educational support, you will realise that the purpose of this video is for marketing purposes. Educating people about Blof off valves is just an added bonus.

They go straight to GFB, because its the promoter, why not Turbosmart, or Blitz or hundreds of other BOV companies that sell in Oz?

Hot4s magazine did the same thing by asking Brett from GFb a few years back on their video.

It is plainly as a marketing tool to sell GFB products.

  • what would be the practical value of blow off valv on a naturally aspirated car?

  • i got a Question i got a 92 civic hatch si and i got a blow off value but cant really here it becuase my turbo is so big and ive been looking for a blow off value thats sounds like a supra any help from any one????

  • 8:07 LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Well done, I learned a few things. I hate when that happens

  • 2:12 S12~~~!!!!!

  • In some cases the blow off value can cause you to lose pressure and power.

  • you guy is awesome dude...

  • It doesn't do anything :/. But still makes your shift sound sexy lol

  • Walk this way drum beat at 6:35 xD

  • I disliked just because of the add!

  • @lee300492 the ad isn't there fault? it's youtube

  • seriously? one of the questions was will it make the car faster? whata buncha ricer fags..all it is, is a hole in the intake tube that automatically closes and opens itself.

  • Comment removed

  • lool you should have put a bottle on the wheel of you bike as well

  • "Break it down into a nutshell"

Is that really a saying in Oz?

  • @Jagjamin No neither "break it down" or "in a nut" shell are uniquely australian, As for "break it down into a nutshell", I think this is presenter/host speak for i need to be saying something while this video is running, and i don't really care what ;)

  • blow off valve on a bike. who would have guessed

  • @OrganicTank Well as they said, they don't really increase the power but they do help to sustain the boost on-throttle without leaking.

  • Time to turbo charge my computer then, my blow off valve with activate everytime i load a page or program!........ :X

  • @Spineler0 hhahahaha when u jizz it makes the blow off sound for you lol

  • how would you be able to create something like that on a 3.8 GM?

    lol

  • How do u know if the blow off is bad

  • Nice motor mounts on that GTI

  • sooo you cant install a dump valve on a non turbo? fucking idiots. maybe if they knew anything about cars they would know you could install one to the air intake with out all the mad pipes and the stupid little compressor. i would explain it but i think make a video, it would be easier

  • @chrisygta4life You sir, are an idiot..

  • @ChmicalStudios And you sir can lick my balls. ive already moded an old dump of a toyota glanza to fit the waste gate on my 1.4 astra

  • @chrisygta4life Dude, what in the fuck are you even talking about? I can't even fucking follow you. Are you saying you installed a BOV on a non-turbo car, or are you saying you can install on a turbo car? Fucking a.

  • @ChmicalStudios what im saying is, i got a dump valve/blow off valve to fit a non turbo 1.4 vauxhall astra.

  • @chrisygta4life Ok. How? You're saying it worked?

  • Comment removed

  • @chrisygta4life Basic rule:

In a non-turbo vehicle, the motor uses vacuum to suck air into the motor, no air is being pressurized or forced in, therefore there is no positive pressure (BOOST) in the manifold. A turbo vehicle has air forced in, and pressurized by a turbo, therefore there is positive pressure (BOOST) in the manifold while under load.

  • crackhead

  • Sweet

  • brett looks pretty cracked out. get some sleep bro.

  • Can i install a BOV on myself, si that when i push my clutch, i sound like im turboed

  • @wbc564 please dont do it

  • @wbc564 Do it....do it now...

  • please don't install a BOV on your N/A car because Ill be laughing at you when a grandma passes your imposter of a ride

  • the last bit was gold!!

  • most important step..."dont forget to tighten the rock nut"

  • No BOV/BPV = chuffing noises when you close the throttle. It's really no big deal, it doesn't kill turbos. Compressor surge at full throttle will kill turbos, but BOVs only kick in after you lift your foot off the throttle pedal anyway. At that point there's negligible exhaust pressure driving the turbine, so the rotating assembly just simply slows down.

  • @LegacyNSFW yea but when you have pressure pushing 2 different ways it creates strain... and can destroy journal bearings...

  • @Tj1056 What LegacyNSFW doesn't understand is that a turbo is rotating at over 60,000RPM under boost, pushing air one way, and when you let off the throttle, it doesn't exactly stop in 1 sec flat. In idiot terms, it's like sticking a pipe in a spinning bike tire, bad idea. It may not damage right away, but it can eventually. Especially journal bearings. BB, you're usually good.

  • @ChmicalStudios well I wouldn't say its like sticking a pipe in a spinning bike tire lol... because the backpressure of having no bov will just force some pressure back while slowing down the compressor... thats when you hear the flutter... not only it kills the bearings in journal but also BB it could eventually destroy the shaft between the compressor and turbine...

  • No bov or bpv : broke turbo

  • I have the same car...I guess Americans are lucky, our cars are drive by wire not drive by cable.

  • if you don`t have a bov in your car that has a turbo, will it do any damages to your engine?

  • @AnhYeuEm1992 Is that an honest question? Are you really that dumb? If you know what a blow off valve does what do you think would happen if you didn't have one?

  • @411onytay How is not knowing it make me dumb? you probably didn't know about it back then. If you don't have a bov the air will just exit where it came from the (turbo)

Thanks for the reply, ugly bitch :)

  • my friend thinks you can take a turbo of a turbo car is he right ?

  • @Diwwan1 what?

  • DON´T FORGET TO TIGHTEN THE ROCKNUT!

  • retarded ... no purpose on this.

  • lol I disconnected my intake so I wouldn't suck up water one day when it was raining. I shifted at about 3000 rpm's and whoosh lol. I thought it was kinda funny that is sounded just like a turbo at low boost.

  • putting a bov on a bike gives you +3hp

  • If i ever see a guy get hit with a wrench whilst riding a bike with a blow off valve, I'll Laugh

  • i dont understand, can i have a step or list on installing DUMPVALVE to na car. i use the same car as yours..

  • top comments fail

  • i miss my s12 an @karonmark how is this rice

  • the 76 haters can shove a supercharger up their asses, see if it fits

  • LOL TRANSCRIBE AUDIO!!!

  • man this is so rice

  • @karonmark Not really.. Unless you are an N/A purist or something..

  • those 72 ppl can go suk on a cock

  • and theres your money maker. it would be big over in usa

  • can I have all your spare parts? do you ship to the States? lol

  • lol... Seems like all this shows about is, "how to be a ricer"

  • So what happens to this show after they run out of car mods?

  • at first i tought this was mythbusters..

  • dude this guy needs some damn sleep.. lmfao he looks like he's been on crack+heroin for days

  • @WhutThePhuq Australian!

  • @WhutThePhuq Yeah, the guy's breaking things down into nutshells! 1:15

  • @jakob2803

    lol

  • I thought you werent suppose to run GTIs with a BOV?

  • so much engine fucking rock!

  • so much engine fucking rock!

  • No you throw a turbo at him because thats what he is missing

  • So, would it be possible to put a blow off valve on a stock L28ET ?

  • so what is a blow off vaulve

  • @carholden1 stututututututu! lol

  • what about power without a blow off valve?

  • so the point of this video is to make a standalone blow off valve system that uses batteries right? and thats why you guys were able to use it on the bike right ? wouldnt you lose pressure if you added that on a NA car ?

  • hmm.. this looks like its oddly out of place... On a NA car, the blow off valve would have to use a stand alone system which negates the whole idea of having a blow off valve in the first place... doesnt it ? turbo cars use blow off valves because of unused built up boost pressure from the turbo chargers, but the only thing an NA car has is the intake/intake manifold; it lacks boost pressure to even have a blow off valve in the first place...

  • @tenjinnim It's supposed to be a joke...

  • @ChmicalStudios i know... im just rolling with it :D

  • All that plumbing for a fake blow off valve, HOW FUCKING STUPID CAN YOU GET

  • Licensplates: FAIL :D

  • blow job valve. lol

  • Lol love this episode!

  • why would you want a naturally asperated car to have a blow off valve number one. and number two why would you go to all that trouble just to get a sound that doesnt make your car faster or even quicker for that matter

  • hugh grant.. sum people are idiots. this guy is an aussi not british...

  • what is a kilowatt

  • @000ADRush a watt that kills

  • @SMacca3103 your clever. is it like some austrailian measurment of WHP? hahah

  • @000ADRush haha i know =] no its not even australian its used all over the world, it 1000 watts of electricity, i.e 1 kilowatts. its like a kilogram 1kg=1000g

  • @000ADRush Watt (W) is a different unit for power, yes. A kilowatt (kW) is 1000W. 1hp equals ROUGHLY 750W. And it's not only aussies using it for engine power.

  • PS

    APR R1 diverter valve FTW

  • BOVs are not for VWs DV all the way. With a short ram a dv sounds fantastic no need to do mafless tune

  • pretty gti <3

  • I hear Subaru engines don't like BOVs.

  • @xAbre1200

You need to tune your car for either or. If your Subaru is tuned for a recirculate and you goto a VTA your car will run like crap and rich. It's a known fact.

  • @xAbre1200 because they're designed to recirc. You also cannot tune for a bov on them either. With a bov you will get rich condition during shifts and foul your plugs over time. But there is plenty of oem replacements if you got leaks or other issues. And if you MUST have sound, a SRI will make your bpv plenty loud enough.

  • i never knew Hugh Grant knows a lot about turbos and stuff....

    super nice well explained vid

  • If I ever saw someone ride by me on a bike & I heard a noise like that, I would just think they farted.

  • @RedHead32109 it was a joke bro calm down, just have some laughs and enjoy the video

  • these people are stupid. theres absolutley no point in putting a blow off valve on a bicycle..it doesnt have a fucking engine!

  • 68 people know about blowoff valves

  • lolll - only 105 KW?? next time - get a REAL engine man!

  • NA blow off valve. This is soooo wankey.

  • quick plug your ears that vw is really roaring!

  • that engine looks like it's about to fly away...

  • That's some awesome exhaust at 8:05

  • now only if i could close my hood..

  • @Chroma2021 You're right, don't want to add that extra 1/2 pound. That'll slow the non boosted car down for sure!

  • HKS BOV.!

  • The car is strapped down you tards

  • Are they legal to have? Please Answer MCM! CHeers

  • @Paragsk no they are legal :)

  • cool show, went through a lot of trouble to just forget about it lol, thats a cool little mini compressor. Good work just to prove it can be done though.

  • If I EVER see a guy riding a bike with a blow off valve I will throw a wrench at him

  • @Haukenslush If I ever get hit by a wrench riding my bike with a blow off valve, I'll know who to blame.

  • @curo72 If I ever see a guy on the ground after being hit with a wrench while riding his bike with a blow off valve, I'll just drive my wrx past you guys really fast..

  • @Imakeplanesboom if i see a guy drive past another guy thats injured in his wrx, ill just stand there and not really do much :l
