I miss this place. It was a play ground for me an my buddies to hang out after school. Damn the descion of selling the place. Its just a big flat grass field now. :(

my gosh it really closed down.i rode it once.i think back in 2000..first and only coaster i ever road....stupid me decided to have a big drink and a personal pizza as i was in line for the ride.luckily i didnt puke.but i know not to eat b4 getting on rides again :)

I miss astro world too..I rode the Bullet rollercoaster in Kemah..its very cool, very intense and twisting for a wooden coaster..like 3900 feet on track on a one acre footprint.

Love this masterpiece that you did in tribute to the late Texas Cyclone. I never got a chance to ride it. In fact, I have never even been to Texas. But it looked like one of those pure/classic wood coasters that never let up each and every time you rode it. We had one like it in Massachusetts called the Giant Coaster at Paragon Park right on the beach in Hull. I miss it every time I do a beach day there.

the texas cyclone was the last ride i ever rode at astroworld. although i didn't know at the time that i ever would be at astroworld. i would've ridden ALL the rides if i had known that astroworld was about to close. i was too scared of serial thriller and greezed lightning. lol

Mayne can't belive its gonna be almost 4 years since they tore down astroworld I remember going with my cousins all the time spending all day in that bitch from sun rise to sunset,eating candy,riding the Batman, checking out the females and even watching kumbia kings perform shit lol I remember ppl would start shit in the parking lot over sets and fighting good times mayne r.I.p astroworld

This place was so great and this vid brought back so many memories. Staying til closing to ride repeatedly because noone was in line, the voice before the first drop on the Cyclone, being a mile up in the air on the backward trip on Greezed Lightnin, rolling down the hill on the other side of 610 by the parking lot, making out with a girl for the 1st time at Waterworld, etc, etc, etc. I, like many, bought season passes multiple years and spent many summers there.

My Best friend Pam and I would ride the Cyclone everyday for the first 2 summers the ride opened. We were 12. That was when you could drop your kids off all day and never worry about them. Watching this tape made my stomach tickle. So sad that the park is gone. GREAT MEMORIES

Texas cyclone fyi wasnt demolished with the six flags D: it was moved to Six flags new england along with most of the rides from Houston

Maybe you seen a replica or maybe you are thinking about the Cyclone in Six Flags New England. Cyclone was opened as the Riverside Cyclone in 1983 when the park was known as Riverside Park, now Six Flags New England. The Texas Cyclone could not possibly be relocated somewhere else , I personally watched the destruction from bulldozers on March 9, 2006.

I'm from the UK and visited Astroworld in March 2005. As a big coaster enthusiast, I rode the cyclone in the back seat - best coaster experience of my life! Unbelievable! They don't build them like that anymore.
