dude, you destroyed this arabesques, IT'S JUST TOO FAST. debussy composed colours and waterfalls, not fast thempo peaces.. it just looses its all charm and beauty. it should seduce you, that you can't stop listening to it. now you were just like oh i can play fast, look at me bitches i can play fast.
I think you played it just a little too fast especially at the part where there is two against three in the beginning. You started out just fine and sped up way too much
come in......come in to my life...I've got to know know know you.....You really how to make music....people like myself know how to play....but you....you make music for us to play.....thank you...
La perfección musical evidencia la existencia de Dios, el orden y la belleza proceden de el y son muestra del amor con el que fuimos creados - Musical perfection is a proof of God existence, the order and the beauty comes from him and shows the love when he creates us.
the dude's talented...wonder the age and origin of this piece...All inspiration comes from God..because after hearing I simply acknowledge that just as intricate and complex and beautiful as an eye, or a flower, or a galaxy or a hummingbird, so the notes which number in the thousands for this song, are arranged and structured beautifully! makes me cry HOW GREAT THOU ART!!!....No wonder the birds get up early to sing praises unto this unseen one, who rules supreme... Who is like unto him?
The tempo was just great, don't worry about people saying you played it too fast. It was wonderful, you had superb expression. You played it at the correct tempo. I don't understand why so many people think this is a slow piece? The MIDDLE section is slow, the rest is flowing and quite quick. I think too many people have seen amateurs trying to attempt this song, and they can't play the polyrhthm up to tempo so they play the whole thing slow and call it playing emotional.
@Lypur Even if it's easier to play at a slower tempo, to me it sounds much better that way. Personal preference I guess, but I'm impressed much more when the notes flow like slow raindrops and I can soak 'em all in.
At what location was this particular recital performed? The size and shape of the stage, the Steinway piano, and the wood planked floor all remind me of a small chapel located on the campus of a private baptist college located in Cleveland, Georgia called Truett-McConnell (College). TMC specializes in musical training, and was the first place I ever heard Claude Debussy's "Araberque No.1" many years ago. I was just curious if that was indeed the same stage in Sewell-Plunkett Chapel.
best interpretation. most of the youtube oens are too slow....

AWESOME!! This is the actual speed that Debussy intended it to be. Nice playing and nice expression through your playing. Debussy would be proud.

I personally prefer a slower tempo, but I love your interpretation. This piece is all about the person's own emotion and passion when they play it.

There's a reason it says "Tempo Rubato" in the piece.

What a nice performance by this young musician. His intereptation of Deux Arabesque
was excellent plus his tempo was spot on! Would like to see more of videos, too.

??? if debussy is what you call him, how could you also say this is an awesome song?

...because I like it for different reasons than he composed it for?
And a lot of people might like a Britney Spears song but hate her guts.
