im thinking of getting this done but i might have to wait a year cause im 17. all the yellow stuff is fat i saw the same stuff in the frog we disected in biology. i wonder how much ill have it must be kinda hard to get through when you get the operation done.

How long did it take you from when you saw a doctor for the first time to when you actually had the surgery. I have had people tell me they had their surgery in one month or one year!

@Travide if you have healthcare like I do, GHI, it's free. I had to spend about $200 going back and forth to my doctor for 6 months - which is GHI's demanded pre surgical evaluation period and I spend $250 on the psychological evaluation. That was pretty much it. Without Healthcare, you're looking at $15,000 or more.

I had my Lapband installed yesterday morning. Took the doctor about an hour. No complications. The chest pain is going away slowly and I should be OK after a week.

There are two gastric bands approved in the US, the Lap-Band (made by Allergan) and the Realize band (made by Johnson&Johnson). Watching your video, I am sure you did not get a Lap-Band, you got a Realize band (which is a low perssure band)

Was just banded and that is soooo amazing to watch. I have this notion in my head of how delicate the surgery is and here it looks like aliens destroying another planet or something....just ripping stuff apart! i feel great 10 days post op. kind of glad i didn't see that before being banded!!! :-)

Yes, wow @ all of that fat! This is really eye opening to think of what Drs have to endure with obese patients. It's MORE scary to think all of that is inside me...

Everything went fine....I was discarged from the hospital after 2 days and the pain was kind of intense about a week after the surgery and than it only lasted for about a week....they did give me some good pain meds but they did not really stop the pain...you should not be afraid though cause its not really that bad...you be fine...
