oh my god i love bart...recently took it from the ferry to orpheum to see (what else?) wicked! i live in hawaii and we're going to have a rail system built...i hope it is as fast, loud, and fun as the bart :D

yes we have those on the R143's over here in the NYCTA (MTA)[metropolitain transit authority] also alstoms n siemens. (R160a and r160b)

But the rehabbed 1st gen BART cars use different motors than the NYC Transit Kawasaki R142A and R143.

BART 1st gen cars: ADTranz/Bombardier 1507C

NYC Transit Kawasaki R142A and R143: ADTranz/Bombardier 1508C

The 1508C is a lower pitch than the 1507C (which is higher pitch than the 1508C).
