actually my band opened for the misfits on october 15th of this year at the alrosa villa, and even though we didnt get to talk to danzig(obviously), we learned the meaning from talking to Jerry, Dez, and Goat(no robo isnt drumming for them recently), we are 138 was based on george lucas's first movie, THX-1138, watch the movie, listen to the lyrics, makes perfect sense, not to mention, you cant argue with someone who talked to the Misfits, even though theres only one original member

Good question, the best answer I have found is that Glenn wrote the song about George Lucas' THX1138 movie, which is about androids that are programmed to murder, and the lyrics fit this. I think it is about the fact that we are all animals inside..capable of the most horrific acts...almost like we are programmed to do bad shit, we are what we are in other words. Either way it is a bad ass song and it has deeper menaing than that to me but I only have so many characters to write about it.
