@lilhillary1 free and risking them of overpopulating the place setting in diseases i think not. putting them away like this is good its for their own good and our own aswell. aslong as they get a bullet to the head they feel no pain its okay i dont mean to sound like a jerk i just say it like it is.

For those of you that think the bolt gun is huimane you may want to do more research. it does not always work and must be used by those who are well trained. Not to mention these animals are not raised as livestock they are treated with love and kindness until they cant do what we want and then shipped off. Also remember this majestic animal is the reason the west was settled and wars were won, THEY toiled for us!!! DOnt they deserve our respect in exchange?

They are calm because they are depressed. They know their time is up. I've studied horse behaviors to where me and my horses know what each other is thinking. Like when a foal dies in a herd, they feel the loss. They have natural feelings pretty much like us. They are silent out of their saddness. Lethargic ~sob~

If I couldntve done that, I wouldve at least gone up there and fed each and every one a carrot and given them all a hug before they died if there was nothing else I could do.... when that horse came up to you at 2:02, as if to say, "Help me..." that just made me cry....

the horse with the red halter and the breathing problem is an old harness racer. I can tell from the neck tattoo.. It makes me sad because I recently rescued a standardbred from slaughter. This breaks my heart.

You are correct. The place is too quiet.. The horses knows what is going on. The listen and hear. That is very upsetting. Horses are not meant to be for human food. They need help, They need respect, They need to be living without fear of being slaughtered.

isnt it wierd how silent it is, and how low spirited they have all become. i dont even want to think about what happens next, the fact is it shouldnt. i can think of low-life humans that would be more suited for the job, empty the prisons out a little, save a bit of money.

Cwby - what you've just described is what's happening in Canada currently. The only difference is rather than puntilla (the stabbing you mention) an inaccurately placed captive bolt stabs the horses' heads. Unfortunately the poor aim has the same result as puntilla. It does nothing to render the horse insensitive.  Rather it merely immobilizes them. The rest of your statement is exactly what's happening in Canada - NVF in particular.
