Stuart Hall - was, and still is, a respected jounalist and tv presenter, but listening to him in this clip makes me realise what fun sport was in the 1970's - unlike the corporate, win at all costs professional commercial garbage it is today - if it wasn't for the health and safety wankers, this show would be on tv to this day
Absolutely brilliant! I've just sat here for 10 minutes and viewed this several times crying with laughter. I remember watching this when I was a young lad with the rest of my family and we were all in stitches. Stuart Hall made It's a Knockout. He had a real talent of bringing the hilarity of these games into your own home. If only we all could possess the joyfulness of Mr Hall
This really ought to carry a health warning to be honest. Every time I watch it I'm in danger of a ruptured spleen. Stuart Hall's laughter - the word infectious doesn't even begin to describe it.
Surely it is time for a DVD release of all the international programmes? They were the highlight of my week when a child and my complaints about not going to my aunts (who had a colour television) led to us getting one.
Just heard Stuart reminiscing about this on the radio. Apparently "Dougie the bin man" couldn't get the hang of it in rehearsal and Stuart said "don't worry you won't get drawn to play for real". Of course he did and provided the funniest ever few minutes on TV (aided by Stuart's laughter). Massive thanks for uploading
what did we know about entertainment then that now has been long forgotton. Fifteen million plus viewers regularly on a saturday evening. Stuart you are missed here on TV bland world now.
