The Jasper has more changes than that, it has a larger heat sink and GPU was shrunk to 65nm. A seperate heat pipe from the heatsink was added aswell. Also it uses less power than the Falcon, and produces less heat.
this guy is right... but thy also added an extra heat sync so the 60gb models are much more reliable, and the new 60gb's only have a failure rate of like, 2% compared to 30% with the 20gb model.
the other good news is if your 20gb 360 gets he RROD, instead of repairing it, microsoft just sends you a new 60gb model without the hardrive.
Microsoft is doing this to help eliminate the problem instead of giving you a refurbished or used console to replace it

The 60GB models are an Updated version of the Falcon. 65nm CPU plus four memory chips were moved, to allow better airflow. Currently, there is some 60GB with the Jasper motherboard.

Its the same, all the architecture is the same. Just that the chip is smaller, so it uses less power, and thus, produces less heat. Reducing the risk of rrod, and lower noise from fans (less heat to remove).
It says it on the back, mine was made October 10, 2008. According to the Xbox360 DVD Drive Database if you have a lot number of 0831 or higher and manufactured after august 20, 2008 it's a jasper.

I went to Best Buy you can check the boxes out yourself, with Amazon you're not sure what you'll get. Mine was the 60gb Pro version that came with the Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones games.
Also check the amperage on the back of your console if it says 12.1A you have a Jasper, mine is 12.1A. 14.1a is the Falcon and 16.5a is the launch version.
The way I did it was I bought a 256mb xbox 360 removable memory card from eBay for a couple of bucks and moved the content, profiles and saves from the hard drive to the memory card, then back on my new 360. There is also a transfer cable for this process that you can buy, just search for it.
Depends on how much content you have. If you have more than 64mb you can just move it in parts. I would say the best time to buy is in December, but watch out for package deals like the holiday bundle as they are most likely repackaged Falcons. Done to get Falcons out of stock.

My xbox 360's manufacture date is the 3/27/08 and it has the same differences, a bigger ram chip and the other ones removed from the bottom. Mine is the 20gb one. Strange isn't it.

The Elite is the same as the Arcade and Pro, same motherboards. There is so such thing as "RROD proof". Jasper lowers the failure rate to 2%, the normal failure rate for any electronic device.

The 60GB models are an Updated version of the Falcon. 65nm CPU plus four memory chips were moved, to allow better airflow. Currently, there is some 60GB with the Jasper motherboard.

Ya I agree they are retarted but I dont think they had the jasper chip ready at launch which is why they should have been smart like sony and delayed the launch to make repairs.

Idk, they kind of had to drop the 360 as early as possible. Otherwise Sony might have beaten em hands down off of hype alone if they dropped around the same time.
Also, I think that's partially why it was so expensive in the beginning because, besides it being a new system, they probably new it wouldn't be extremely reliable.

The first Jasper models have a lot number of 0843, so if yours is equal to or higher than that number, there is a stong chance that it contains a Jasper

Its the same, all the architecture is the same. Just that the chip is smaller, so it uses less power, and thus, produces less heat. Reducing the risk of rrod, and lower noise from fans (less heat to remove).

It says it on the back, mine was made October 10, 2008. According to the Xbox360 DVD Drive Database if you have a lot number of 0831 or higher and manufactured after august 20, 2008 it's a jasper.

I went to Best Buy you can check the boxes out yourself, with Amazon you're not sure what you'll get. Mine was the 60gb Pro version that came with the Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones games.

Also check the amperage on the back of your console if it says 12.1A you have a Jasper, mine is 12.1A. 14.1a is the Falcon and 16.5a is the launch version.

The way I did it was I bought a 256mb xbox 360 removable memory card from eBay for a couple of bucks and moved the content, profiles and saves from the hard drive to the memory card, then back on my new 360. There is also a transfer cable for this process that you can buy, just search for it.

Depends on how much content you have. If you have more than 64mb you can just move it in parts. I would say the best time to buy is in December, but watch out for package deals like the holiday bundle as they are most likely repackaged Falcons. Done to get Falcons out of stock.

the falcon is a new motherboard it quieter cooler and has less chance of getting rrod but it still will get rrod just has a less chance of getting it.

My xbox 360's manufacture date is the 3/27/08 and it has the same differences, a bigger ram chip and the other ones removed from the bottom. Mine is the 20gb one. Strange isn't it.

The Elite is the same as the Arcade and Pro, same motherboards. There is so such thing as "RROD proof". Jasper lowers the failure rate to 2%, the normal failure rate for any electronic device.
