I actually like this song than the Muppet rendition... I know both versions have a sincerity, but this one is more of a pick-me-up where the other is in memorandum.
Due to having watched that certain song played in a clip from the "Muppet Show" episode, "The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson", where the Muppets (excluding Kermit) sing this song as what turns out to be a posthumous tribute for Jim Henson, and after they're done singing, Kermit compliments the song and tells them he knew they could do the tribute for Jim.
This was actually made for the snoopy musical it then got used in the muppets many years later as the guy that wrote the song then started working on the muppets and thought it would be good to pull this song out again and have the muppets singing it.
i know someone said this song was jim henson's but charlie brown had it first I checked the musical was done in 1975 jim didn't use it until the muppet show with Bernadette Peters episode 212
This song makes perfect sense when you think about it clear enough. If just one person remembers something that should be believed in & remembered for many years to come even if dead today, it will intensify our love for such classics like this as the message goes along even when its roots are no more. It also shows why the classics always stand superior to the newer idea of entertainment & why songs like this are used in allowing us to remember the years of happiness of childhood & earlier.
Sigh, when I think of all the entertainers of my childhood who've passed before and during my lifetime; Jim Henson, Mister Rogers, Rev. W. Awdry, Charles Schulz, Walt Disney...
Now I have a song to remember them by and remember the good old times.
I dunno which is sadder...The Muppeteers and their top-ranked characters singing this at Jim Henson's memorial or Fergie--the former Sally Brown at one point--singing it out of tribute to Charles Shulz, especially since Henson himself respected Shulz so that he was a Peanuts fan too!
Someday you'll find the Rainbow Connection, 'cause...
Lynne as ACME Chief and Luna, Noah as dragon Magellan and Bear, Craig Bartlett as Rugrats writer/Hey Arnold! creator/producer of Henson programs/animator of Pee-Wee's Playhouse/husband of Lisa Groening aka the inspiration for The Simpsons' daughter (and the actual sister of The Simpsons' creator, Matt Groening), Mr. Rogers & Pee-Wee Herman & Margaret Hamilton all appearing as Sesame Street guests, Henson being a Peanuts and Oz fan, et al.
I think they should record the voices like they used to in little increments, and then sequence them together to get a more nostalgic sound out of the voices. To me that was the one thing about the peanuts t.v. series and specials that made it so defining and unique. The newer ones are still great additions to the series, it's just a technique i think they should resurrect...
We had this movie recorded on VHS from a TV showing when I was a little kid and I grew up with the movie and loved the music all my life. Where can I get a copy?? I've been trying to track one down for years!
This truly is beautiful. It brings back such great memories, and what a good message to pass on to my son who is watching it with me right now. Brings a tear to my eye.
a traumatizing event happened to me today. I'd lost all hope in myself. But this wonderful, enthralling song has helped me restore my faith in myself.
There's just something so...warm about Lucy and Snoopy in this song. They were rivals most of the time in Peanuts lore, but just in this three minute song, you can see how tight knit the Peanuts gang were/are.
they song this a Jim H, funeral service it made me cry, im a fan, i adore all the peanuts stuff to, great memories an this song is sooooo Beautiful, thanks for postin*)
@hemanshera777: And Oz, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Pee-Wee, and others also, thanks to Craig Bartlett being involved with all those and working with the Hensons.
Disney (the House of Mouse line-up), Muppets (Sesame Street, The Muppets, & Fraggle Rock)--Jereth & Hoggle from Labyrinth, the Gelflings from Dark Crystal, Dinosaurs' dad Carl & Baby Sinclair, Star Wars' Yoda, the live-action TMNT, the cast of Eureeka's Castle, et al--Peanuts (the core gang), Oz (Dorothy & Elphaba NOT hating each other to sing with Glinda), Mr. Rogers, Pee-Wee Herman, Rugrats' Tommy & Chuckie & Angelica, Helga & Arnold from Hey Arnold!, & a slew of others all singing = AWESOME!
Maybe not, but what do you think this song would sound like if the Little Einsteins DID sing this song?
Also, I think this song might be suitable for this Holiday Season, because Christmas is probably one of the good Holidays to believe in someone. Right? ;o)
@Shippo222 sorry but Jim did not have this first i do like his work and everything he gave us but this song was born from charlie brown the musical i check several sites this came from this musical I'm sorry if i offended you
@Shippo222 No, this song was originally from the stage version of this musical. Jim Henson's Muppets just happened to cover it before the musical was adapted into this.
@Shippo222 Actually, according to the Muppet Wiki along other sources, the song was originally from the 1975 Peanuts state musical: Snoopy! The Musical. The first time the Muppets did a cover of it was on the muppet show about a year or so after.
The Same song they sang at jim henson's funeral....wow, never knew it came from Peanuts....
The singing voices are so good here. Snoopy's voice is the same actor who played Leonardo in the old TMNT show (Cam Clarke). Also played Prince Adam in the remake of Masters of the Universe.
You know. It's REALLY creepy when Snoopy has a voice, especially a real Crooner like that one.
Adding a voice to a character that's been defined as mute removes a certain level of connection with them, and it's doesn't help that I don't think Snoopy sounds like that in ANYONE'S head.
I never knew this was from Snoopy. I always thought this was originally from the Muppets. I especially liked the version they sang on the tribute special to Jim Henson. This is also a great version. Thanks for sharing!
@hemanshera777: Except that Walt Disney created the mouse years before. All subsequent voice actors are just filling in for the boss, just like Steve Whitmire now does for Jim's characters.

If just one person believes in you,
Deep enough and strong enough
Believes in you,
Hard enough and long enough,
Before you knew it,
Someone else would think,
"If he can do it, I can do it,"
Making it...
KBAFourthtime 5 months ago
... two.
Two whole people who believe in you.
And if two whole people believe in you,
Deep enough and strong enough
Believe in you,
Hard enough and long enough,
There's bound to be some other person
Who believes in making it a threesome
Making it...
KBAFourthtime 4 months ago
... three.
"People," you can say, "... believe in me."
And if three whole people,
Why not four?
And if four whole people,
Why not more
And more
And more?
KBAFourthtime 4 months ago
And when all those people believe in you,
Deep enough and strong enough
Believe in you,
Hard enough and long enough,
It stands to reason
You yourself will start to see what everybody sees in you.
And maybe even you
Can believe in you
Too.

You know. It's REALLY creepy when Snoopy has a voice, especially a real Crooner like that one.
Adding a voice to a character that's been defined as mute removes a certain level of connection with them, and it's doesn't help that I don't think Snoopy sounds like that in ANYONE'S head.
