I have only 'felt' the MAC 182 in the store and hvn't used it but here's my 2 pennies:
The MAC 182 is very lush, feels luxurious, because it is very very soft and very very densely packed. More so than the BB I think. The MAC also seems a bit fuller than the BB. As to its performance I hvnt used it but I think it wld be very good. I like the BB because it is a tad smaller and I feel that I cld control it more. But I think the MAC is a very good rival! hth
I'm wearing both l/s and gloss! I did a tutorial on it with my olive green look using Cargo products. It's Maybelline Moisutre l/s in 742 topped with MAC's Baby Sparks Dazzleglass. Happy Xmas to you too : D
I like your smudge brush. I think you would really enjoy the NARS smudge brush as the bristles are a bit shorter and appear to bit more dense. Absolutely perfect for smudging those eyeliners and applying more color to set the eyeliners. Sometimes I will add the main color on my eye just a tad under my lower lash eyeliner. I don't know how I had gone so long without that one and without the MAC 272 for cutting the crease. Great vid for new ideas.
Love this video and the Laura Mercier brush is very intriguing with the unique shape. I was surprised there were no kabuki brushes. I am in love with MAC's flat top Kabuki. I have three of them--one for foundation, one for blush, and one for mineral foundation. So soft. I second the comment on your earrings. Love them!
my 187 looses hair all the time and when i apply foundation i get some stuck on my face. do yours do that and if my does that is there anything wrong with it then? i have the special edition one, maby that has anything to do with it?
I hven't experienced shedding of the 187 - or with any of my MAC brushes actually. Think I've been quite lucky with that.
I'm not sure why shedding does happen actually - although I have heard that the LE short handle brush sets aren't as good quality as the regular - though I hvn't tried them either.
Could be that you did just get a badly made one maybe. : (
the special edition ones are of different quality as they are mass produced - you should invest in the original one, it makes a HUGE difference, much softer and doesnt shed at all.
do you know how much the 227 is? i can't seem to see it on the mac website and only some stores sell it in London =( x

I did waver about getting NARS or the LM, but I eventually chose the LM. A smudge brush is def a necessary brush in my colln!

I know - I can't believe I left out my kabuki as well so I 'added' it in in the info bar! I have the Bobbi Brown kabuki which I love!
Thanks for your comments!
